Super cute and fun accomodation! Easy to get to and the hike in was not daunting at all. Highly recommend the outdoor shower! We happened to come on a cold spell and the wood burning stove made our stay delightful.
Everything was great! Lovely set up, running water, counter space, big tent and lovely trails. The outdoor shower was a treat! I will say, it was pretty wet in the front of the tent, something got the matches all wet. We think the screen window was left open at some point and it rained into the tent. It wasn’t serious though, we used the provided fan to dry off the rest of the floor, didn't even need a towel down. The cook kit was left out and was full of water, with an empty fuel can. This did not really bother us as we had our own camp gear and cook kit.. and I’m sure if I told the owners about it they would have fixed it right away, we just didn't really care to mention it because it wasn’t serious for us. We are avid campers and this is just part of the experience! EVERYTHING else was AMAZING!! The trails were so cute, so many amazing fungi to see, they did a great job! I can see this being a very popular spot in the years to come!
Self check in. We arrived after dark, which was not recommended, but worked out ok. 3 minute hike to campsite. The hike does go through a short steep valley which could make carrying gear difficult for some, but you are close enough to your car it’s not a big deal if you have to make a few trips. Camp site was as described and matches photos. Bed was comfortable. Pillows and throw blanket provided. We brought a quilt and sleeping bags. The site does have electricity and running water which was super helpful for brushing teeth, dishes, washing hands, etc. Dish soap and small sponge provided. We carried in drinking water. The port a potty was about 30 yards away and clean. A bear bag was provided for any food you bring to the site. We left most in the car and just walked in what we needed. There was a small saw and axe provided to cut wood. Fire wood for purchase at 1 a log. There were also a couple outdoor games and card games in the tent which was a nice touch. Bug spray is a must pack item. The parking was a little tight when all 3 sites were occupied but didn’t end up being a problem. There is an outdoor shower which was great. Just takes a few minutes for the water to heat up. Location was great! There was a small convenience store right down the road and only 2 miles from downtown Bayfield. Host was super quick to respond to questions. I did have very limited cell usage so download the area on Google maps before you leave.
Absolutely fantastic camping stay! This campsite exceeded all expectations. The setup was perfect, and the amenities were top-notch. Communication with the host was smooth and helpful throughout. The shower tree with warm water was such a unique and delightful surprise—definitely above expectations! We loved having the propane stove in addition to the campfire setup, which made cooking super convenient. The canvas tent was beautifully furnished and incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The location couldn’t be better—just 5 minute drive from the main town with great shops and only a short drive to a cluster of fantastic apple orchards and a tasty cidery (Apfelhaus Cidery). We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-equipped camping experience.
