Cliff Edge Villa - St. Philip

A cliff-edge breezy villa, also known as the Lilac Villa, facing the Atlantic. Quiet and secure residential neighborhood. Private dedicated pool. Gated parking. Grocery nearby. Dramatic cliff-side views and scenic evening strolls.

There are 3 ensuite bedrooms, all with terraces opening onto the sea. Perfect for 3 couples or a larger family. A foldout couch is suitable for small children. The morning sunrise over the ocean greets you from the balcony and can be appreciated with an early dip in the pool before coffee. Screening the sun by early afternoon, the shaded 2 level terrace overlooks the pool with the ocean just fifty yards beyond.

Two identical spacious master suites are upstairs with ensuite baths, all opening onto the upper terrace facing the ocean. The modern equipped kitchen and granite island seating expands outside as a focal point for conversation and relaxed dining on the tiled terrace.

Fully equipped, the coastal get-away has cable HD TV, local phone and stable wi-fi. The traditional Barbados multi-louvered house design, without glassed windows, provides constant flowing ocean breeze and a cool airy atmosphere. At night and during quiet moments of the day, you can hear the ocean surging against the rocks below.

The immaculately maintained 200 square foot pool faces the cliff with ledge seating for meditating on the deep blue and turquoise horizon. A BBQ allows for quick grilling of fresh fish from Oistens market. Less than 15 minutes from the airport, the safe residential neighborhood is quiet in the evenings for relaxing strolls along the escarpment and lanes.

Two beautiful white sandy beaches, including the world-famous Crane resort, are within 10 minutes’ drive north of the house, and more calm Caribbean beaches are plentiful 15-30 minutes south along the coast to Bridgetown. A grocery store and bakery is a short walk from the house, with a quick connection to the main island highway allowing fast access to tourist areas.

The Villa is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood therefore we do not allow gatherings other than those registered for the stay without prior approval.

Our local key holder can arrange to meet you at the airport and orient you to the property upon your arrival.

We had a wonderful time staying at Phillip’s villa. The location is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with a spectacular view of the ocean. David, the property manager, met us at the airport for the drive to the house. Given the location, a car rental is highly suggested. The house is clean and well equipped, beds comfortable and there are three very clean bathrooms. There is no air conditioning and, for the most part with the breezes from the ocean, it is not needed. One suggested addition, however, would be floor fans in two of the bedrooms (the third has one) as the ceiling fans are occasionally insufficient. Overall, we loved our stay and will certainly recommend it to others.

The house is nice, spacious, clean and great to have your own pool and view of the ocean. We appreciated being picked up and dropped off at the airport. If you're nervous about driving on the left, this might not be the house for you because all destinations require driving.

If you want your trip to Barbados to provide a great pool, fantastic views and to be quite and removed from tourist traps, then this is the place for you.We absolutely loved our stay here, the property was spacious, open and the cooling breeze from the Atlantic, with the open louvres made sure that we were never too hot.David, the property manager, was wonderful, and thank goodness he was waiting patiently at the airport to show us the way to the property. He was very accommodating and available to help if needed. We would return.

This is amazing house located right by Atlantic Ocean with amazing views from all rooms. Though house does not have AC you don’t really need it as Atlantic breeze makes the atmosphere very comfortable. Though Some of equipment (washer, fans) are quite old and rusted the view and location is great trade off for those cons. We did see atleast 4 centipede during our stay in house but I think that does come with location the house is at. Over all amazing stay and great unforgettable views.

Photos not recent, property looked neglected. No glass in windows so wind howled through louvres. Electrics were temperamental due to corrosion. About 40 planes a day pass over at around 1500 feet. Checked out early.

Overall a lovely stay

The neighborhood is nice, quiet. It’s my favorite area to stay in Barbados. The view from both verandas is absolutely gorgeous. They layout of the house is well done, and airflow is great. Sunrise and moonrise are a sight to behold. The only true drawbacks are minor: most of the pots and frying pans need replacing (peeling/scratched/old). We were able to use 1 out of the 3 frying pans for breakfast, because the other 2 Teflon pans were so scratched up that they wouldn’t have been safe to use. Again, minor because everything else about the house and experience made for an enjoyable vacation.

The greatest view on Barbados

The house with great view over the Ocean was more than comfortable for our group of 5. Upper bedrooms have magical view also, from your bed! We rented a car and explored the island. The location was great. In very quiet area, surrounded with villas, and the breeze was just perfect. If you want a good rest, a relaxing view, a lot of space and lovely terasse in two levels, this is the best choice for you. The grocery market is 5 min drive away, for swiming an party you need a car. We warmly recomend the house. Last, but not least, the owners and their local representative David are very kind and helpful. Pick up at the airport and late check out were welcome presents for us. Thank you all!

A quiet escape

This property is one quiet neighborhood and has ocean views that are amazing! You will need a car if you want to see the island. The airport is very close and planes fly over often. I would bring an eye mask for sleeping because the sun will wake you at 5am. But its quiet at night so we went to bed at 930 and woke early. The pool is so refreshing and right off your deck. There is sun and shade for all to enjoy. Bring your sun screen the sun here is hot! The wifi doesn't reach the upstairs most night but this forced you to rest which we all need to do. Kitchen is well stocked.

Beautiful view every morning

This property overlooks the ocean and every bedroom faces the ocean as well. The kitchen and living room areas have doors that open to a pool and a view of the ocean. The cool breeze from the ocean was welcoming at night. There is no air conditioner. The property is dated and needs some fixing up. It will be sold soon, so hopefully the new owners will spruce up the place. David, the property manager was very helpful with getting us settled in and providing tips to get around Barbados. There is a bakery and busy grocery store nearby that is about 5 min away by car. Overall a nice property with amazing views.

Cliff-side Getaway

Sea of Peace Villa is a lovely place right on the cliff. The views from the home are spectacular morning, noon and night. There is nothing but calm, beautiful water to enjoy from every bedroom as well as the patio. A car is essential however to get to the many beautiful beaches in the area. The 82 degree weather was a welcome relief from the freezing temperatures of New England and not having air conditioning was not a problem. A constant breeze meant no bugs!. Perfect!! The villa is in the flight plan from the airport. The traffic lasts for a short time and doesn't ruin cocktail hour. The home is neat, clean and simple. Showers are great with plenty of hot water. A bedroom on the first floor is easily accessible for anyone with special needs. Although not a gourmet kitchen, we ate two meals a day at the home. Visit if you can. You won't regret it.

Lovely Vacation Home

The location, scenery surrounding the property, and the home itself was more than I expected. The home is in a quiet residential neighborhood, with friendly neighbors. The sound of the ocean and the consistent ocean breeze is unexplainably comfort to the soul. There is a grocery store with a bakery less than a 5 minute drive away from the villa. The airport is literally 10 minutes or less away from the villa. There is a close by gas station and a few bars along the way. The larger grocery store and mini shopping area is about 10 - 15 minutes away. there is also a Chefette, Burger King, Subways, and Little Caesars in the same vicinity. Now let's talk about the home itself! The rooms are spacious and it is a plus that there are en suite bathrooms with a small walk-in closet for the two bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen is spacious, along with the middle island to avoid congestion while cooking or entertaining. The living room and television is small, but for a late night winddown it is suffice. The pool is just the right size. With the sun hitting right above for most of the morning. There are floaties and a grill available in the small shed available to access. There are a few updates that can be done to make this villa even more memorable but I was very satisfied and couldn't ask for a better villa to spend 10 days at.

Wonderful Oceanfront Getaway

We had a fantastic week at this spacious and airy oceanfront home. The property was as pictured—clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated on a cliff in a quiet neighborhood. The view of the ocean from the two bedrooms upstairs was breathtaking. The downstairs bedroom and living room both opened up to a relaxing view of the outdoor patio and pool area. Although the pool isn't heated, it warmed up during the day under the sun. We appreciated the pool towels provided. Communication with the property owner, Philip, and the manager, David, was easy and prompt. David arranged airport pickup and gave a quick tour of the property and the surrounding area. While we’re familiar with Barbados from past visits, this location in Ocean City is located between Crane’s Beach Resort and the famous Oistin’s Fish Market for Friday Fish Fry. The airport is also close by, so airplane sounds overhead are frequent.The neighborhood felt safe, although a bit off the beaten path, so a rental car is highly recommended. There’s a supermarket nearby—not within walking distance, but just a short drive away.The three bedrooms comfortably accommodate six people, but the living room sofa is not practical as a bed. It was well-equipped and clean upon arrival although the living room furniture could use an update. We did run into a few minor issues, including starting the washing machine, but David came by to assist.All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. Thanks guys!

A little worn around the edges.

Hi Your property has a beautiful view out across the ocean. Thank you for letting us stay. Wow, I totally appreciate the impact that the salt air has on the infrastructure. A couple of things worth considering: There is not a sharp knife in the place for chopping vegetables and fruit. David brought a new toaster after we mentioned it, thanks. The other one was dysfunctional. Worth setting up a monthly plan for the shower head descaling. Of 4 showers only 2 actually worked and they needed cleaning. The outside shower we were told had never worked. We took off the head and found that it did work and so cleaned a shower head and had it working. The other shower we were told just had to have the head cleaned. The fact was that it did not work at all. Might be worthwhile having the cleaners do a little check before they leave to make sure everything actually works. Although we found it fun to see where all the different planes were heading it is not quiet for a stretch of the afternoon and late evening. I can appreciate why you dont want to mention it.

Great holiday home

Communication from the minute we booked was superb. David the house manager met us at the airport and took us to the home, showed us how everything worked and even took us to do a couple of food shops throughout our stay. Beds were comfortable, villa was lovely and spacious and the pool was great. Views over the ocean will be something that I’ll never forget! Thank you for giving us a great base to visit this amazing island!

We stayed at this property for a couple of days. Phillip sent Angela to meet us at the airport and to help us find a grocery store. During the whole experience and even before traveling, Phillip was very helpful as he called us many times to check if we need anything. I give it a 5/5 for the hospitality and the amazing view. Very relaxing and quiet spot. I highly recommend this property! Even the neighbors are super friendly. But I really recommend you to get a car to easily travel around.

Perfect location. Very calm, enjoyed our stay. Only Downside was WI-FI. It’s only works in Downstairs leaving room. Dose not work upstairs. Owners needs to invest in Better routers. But other than that. It was perfect.

We fell in love with the view, purchased the land and built a holiday villa soon after. While we built it for personal use, the design with the 3 bedrooms open to the sea had a primary interest for future guests to enjoy.

We had been renting in St Philip for many years and had always been looking for an ocean front to build a getaway home. This perfect spot has constant ocean breezes and dramatic views in a peaceful setting. An excellent spot for short visits or extended stays.
