Peaceful 2.5-Acre Retreat Near the City with Space to Unwind
Much of the 2.5-acre property is wooded, with several open areas perfect for relaxing, playing games, or simply enjoying the outdoors. The large circular driveway makes coming and going easy, even when hosting gatherings with multiple vehicles, trailers and RVs.
Covered porches on both the front and back of the home invite you to slow down and unwind, with a spacious great room connecting everything in between. This central gathering space includes the living room, kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, and office — making it ideal for spending quality time together, sharing meals, or hosting special moments with family and friends.
The first-floor bedroom sits just off the great room and features private doors leading directly to the rear porch. Imagine waking up, stepping outside with a cup of coffee, and watching the morning light filter through the trees while deer and wildlife pass quietly by. It’s a peaceful, cozy way to start the day or wind down in the evening.
The second bedroom is upstairs with a large walk-in closet, while the third bedroom is located in the basement next to the laundry room. All three bedrooms offer scenic views, closets, flat-screen TVs, and storage for your belongings, creating comfortable retreats after a day of exploring. The first- and second-floor bedrooms each have their own private full bathrooms for added convenience.
Additional sleeping options include a sofa bed in the great room, an extra queen mattress in the upstairs closet, and air mattresses to accommodate larger groups.
Guests are welcome to explore short trails that wind through the woods, where wildlife sightings are common and nature feels close at hand. The trails extend across several acres and lead to an open field (utility easement) on the east side of the property, surrounded by scenic hills and Whispering Pines. There are neighbors to the west, but the spacing between properties maintains a private, peaceful atmosphere. Behind the home, the land drops down the knobs, offering beautiful seasonal scenery year-round.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find another property with this much space, privacy, and natural beauty so close to the city — especially at this value. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, nature, and convenience.

This is the second time we stayed at the cabin. Gabe is a great host, is very friendly and responsive, and got us everything we needed if it wasn't already in the cabin. Hope to visit again soon!
We had a great week here in New Albany/Floyd Knob. The house is spacious and nicely decorated and the back porch was a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the wooded lot and all the birds. For us it was the best of both worlds: a quiet place in the woods to stay but in just 15 minutes in the car we could be in downtown Louisville where we had dinners out at great restaurants 5 nights. New Albany has some good local restaurants too that we used for takeout our first couple nights. We would highly recommend this for its beauty and convenient location. We were able on a daily basis to travel 15-30 minutes to great parks in Indiana and Kentucky for hiking, walking along the Ohio River, and for biking. Just a great spot and the owner was very responsive to all communications.
This place was great. Perfect for our bourbon trail adventure! My family of 5 had a great time place was clean, bathrooms had hot water and close proximity to everything. The only complaint i had was the pillows on the beds weren’t really comfortable. But i will come back to this place when we do the trail agin 5/5
Spent a very nice long weekend with my wife and enjoyed every minute of it! It is exactly what we needed - remote feel and close to all that we wanted to do. Would stay there again!
This place is absolutely perfect. Close to the highway but not too close to be a disturbance. Beautiful cabin back off the road, so it’s private. I would recommend everyone to stay here, and Gabe is one of the best hosts I’ve ever had. Great experience overall, hope to return again.
Loved our stay, thank you for the excellent communication throughout our stay and allowing us to enjoy your home. Great location, very peaceful and quiet.

Love the quiet peaceful area and 3 batrooms were great when you gave several people.
We had a fantastic stay! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location was perfect, and the host was responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. The location was awesome—close to everything but still quiet and peaceful. We felt right at home and would absolutely stay here again and loved that we could bring our dogs! Highly recommend!
This home is PERFECT! Perfect for families, kids or anyone! We enjoyed our week and half and honestly didn’t want to leave. Gabe our host was timely, friendly and the house was exactly how it’s described. We couldn’t have had a more perfect week!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin in the woods. It was very quiet. We even saw two deer on the property when we went back to the cabin one evening after a day out. The cabin was satisfactorily clean, however, it could use some deep cleaning here and there. And the outside property could use some sprucing up.
Host was very prompt and courteous to communicate with. Cabin is in a beautiful and quiet country setting, yet you are only minutes from Louisville, New Albany, and Jeffersonville. Lots of family friendly things to see and do in the area, or you can just relax and hang out in this very spacious and clean cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this cabin, and we look forward to possibly staying here again in the future.
We came down with 4 adults and 3 kids plus our little yorkies. We had enough room for everyone and everything was very convenient. It was very quiet and 2 of us went for a walk to see the sunset in the valley. Beautiful. Our host was very friendly and easy to get a hold of and answered all of my questions with quickness and ease. Thank you Gabriel for a wonderful stay.
Hidden gem! My family had a gathering to celebrate a big day in our life, and everyone who attended absolutely loved the cabin. As an added bonus, all the kids had a great time exploring the property.
Absolutely stunning accomodations. Felt like we were in Colorado rather than Louisville, KT. Very clean, multiple baths and bedrooms. Enjoyed the large screen television, wifi, and games. Convenient to town and restaurants with great access to the highway. If we head back that way again, we will definitely book again!
My family and our dogs really enjoyed staying at this cabin for a short getaway. The house was clean with all of the amenities to make you feel at home. The house is nestled away from the busy city and allowed room for our two boys and dogs to run!
The owners were attentive and everything is as described.
We enjoyed a quiet restful stay at the cabin, a very private setting. We were visited by turkeys, turtles, and deer. Just what we needed to unwind! We were able to access great places to hike and visit Louisville within 20 minutes driving, and just enjoyed driving around the winding roads.
Gabriel is a great host, accommodating to our requests and just overall friendly!
Excellent property and exactly as depicted. The property is tucked back in the woods so it feels remote but is only about 20min from Louisville. House is fully stocked with all kitchen supplies and has plenty of extra towels. The inside is clean, well maintained and spacious with large bedrooms/bathrooms. There are at least 3 outdoor fire pits and a gas fire pit on the front porch for when its too wet outside for a real fire. For the outdoor pits there is plenty of wood to be found on the property or you can buy wood at the gas station. The closest grocery store is a Kroger about 5 miles away. Dog friendly!! Our dogs go everywhere with us and they had a blast running and playing in the leaves. We loved this property and would gladly book again.

About the host
Hosted by Gabriel
This cabin isn’t just a house — it’s a place filled with memories, nature, and simple pleasures. I grew up in this area and raised my two daughters here, so it holds a special place in my heart. I love being here, often bringing my two large dogs along to enjoy the trails and open spaces with me. I also love opening it up for families, friends, and travelers who want a peaceful, spacious retreat near the city. When I’m in town, I enjoy visiting local favorites like the Georgetown Drive-In and nearby ice cream shops — little spots that make the area feel even more special. Whether you’re looking for a weekend getaway, a family adventure, or a quiet escape to connect with nature, I hope my cabin feels like your home away from home.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it’s quiet, scenic, and private — located on a dead-end street with very little traffic. The wooded surroundings make it feel peaceful, while still being conveniently just off the interstate for easy access. It’s close to grocery stores, restaurants, and everything you might need, so you get the perfect balance of privacy, nature, and convenience.
What makes this property unique
This is the only log cabin in the woods nearby available for short-term rental. It’s a private, scenic retreat on a 2.5-acre wooded property, with trails, open spaces, and room for families and pets — a rare combination of rustic charm, privacy, and comfort so close to the city.
