The host was very welcoming and helpful during our visit. We loved the local restaurants and grocery store that were within walking distance. It was a wonderful stay!
It’s a very unique set up but it’s what we loved about it!!! If you like to walk through towns this is the place. Went to a comedy show at Mark Ridley’s and we walked!!! No need to pay for parking or an uber!! Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the bakery next door was phenomenal!!! The host Richard was very kind and personable!! Highly recommend and would stay here again!!!
Being right on main street was great, especially for the price! The place was clean when we arrived, Richard was extremely accommodating, check-in/check-out was a very smooth process, and the space served us well.
We needed a transitional space while seeking a permanent home after a cross country move and this worked out perfectly for my family. Richard was very accommodating and extremely prompt with our needs - we had to extend our stay and Richard made it super easy to get that worked out. The property itself is located in a prime area where we had access to everything we needed during our stay.

Ty for the kind words and so glad you enjoyed your stay! Good luck in your new home and welcome to the Royal oak area community!
We were in town for a guys weekend and gave this house 5 stars. It was clean and in a fantastic location within walking distance of the bars and restaurants of Royal Oak. Great front porch to sit outside and have a couple of drinks too.
Only odd thing, the kitchen is in the basement, so if you are planning to cook while you’re in town, this might not be the best option.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and the 5 star review Frank! We replaced the batteries to the tv remote controls the following day and everything seems to be working fine now with the TV. Extra batteries are left in the kitchen for any future guests :)
We had an absolutely wonderful extended stay at this property! The house was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable 3-week stay. The location was fantastic - a short walk to downtown Royal Oak.
One of the highlights for us was how pet-friendly the property was. Our pets felt right at home, and it was such a relief to find a place where they were welcomed with open arms.
Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. They were always quick to respond and incredibly accommodating, making our experience smooth and stress-free.
We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a perfect getaway, whether for a short trip or an extended stay like ours.

Thanks so much for the kind review! We really enjoyed meeting you both during your stay!! Thanks for being awesome guests and glad you enjoyed your stay!
Great location and parking! Easy walk into Royal Oak and easy drive to Detroit. The actual property is a converted store and still has store like qualities. The exterior doors for example need to be updated from glass “shop” doors to doors a home would have. The layout was a bit chaotic with the kitchen in the basement (which I knew going in). Lack of basics like towel bars and hooks, light switches in easy locations and extra towels and TP were problematic. I really wanted to love this place because I lived in Royal Oak for many years and knew the property. It’s got a lot of potential!
