Being able to stay on the Crawling Stone Lake chain is a gift. We were thrilled to find Little Stones Throw with a beautiful view of the lake from nearly all rooms and an impressive boathouse deck. The original log cabin portion of the house is charming including the massive stone fireplace.
We came to Lac du Flambeau for a family gathering at a relative’s house in the neighborhood.
The Little Stones Throw house was perfect for our group.
The house is very lovely and gave us a true Northwoods vibe. The house was very clean and ready upon arrival. The amenities provided in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom were more than adequate. We spent a great deal of time on the deck over the boathouse while enjoying the beautiful views. I would definitely recommend the house for anyone else and would definitely use it again in the future.
We came up for a fishing trip with a group of guys. The property is exactly as described. The 2 bedrooms worked perfectly, and the main room was bigger than it looks in the photos. We had plenty of room for 7 adults. The outdoor patio over the garage is perfect and the view over the water is great. The dock was the most important part for us as we were docking 2 boats most of the trip. The dock is a great size, but one of the pylons ended up sinking/sliding down into the water. It did storm fairly bad one morning so we are not sure if that affected the pylon. By the end, we just stayed off the one corner of the dock that had slid down. Otherwise, the dock was great. Be aware that the well water can be a little off-putting with a strong sulfur odor. Our group doesn't mind because we were there for fishing, but we know that our wives would not have been happy with the water smell. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The lakes are absolutely perfect and clear. We caught tons and tons of fish (largemouth, smallmouth, rock bass, pike, walleye, crappie, bluegill). The channels are very shallow so it does take some time to get from lake to lake so plan accordingly. The boat launch on Little Crawling Stone is super convenient and a quick ride across the lake.
