About this property
Tranquil Treehouse
The home itself is quaint. It boasts a great room that combines a comfortable living area, sitting area complete kitchen with bartop and a dining nook. Vaulted ceilings create a sense of open space, and the wall of western facing windows with french doors that lead to a simple deck allow sunshine to splash into the space.
Once inside you don't see or hear neighbors, and will get lost in stunning views. There are stairs throughout the house; it is indeed built on the downslope of a steep hillside. The covered carport fits two vehicles.
The house is sensibly appointed with MidCentury modern furniture from Portand's renowned BP John, a red leather Natuzzi couch, tulip breakfast table with matching eclectic chairs, and comfy leather armchairs and ottomans.
The bedrooms are on different levels from the main living space. The large primary bedroom has a king size bed and a private bathroom with standup shower and double sinks. The primary bedroom is on it's own level.
The two additional bedrooms have queen sized beds, private balconies, and they are situated on the lowest level of the home. These two bedrooms share a bathroom that has a shower / bathtub & sink. There's also a laundry room with a new front loading washing machine and dryer.
When you're in the home you forget all about the city that surrounds you. The space is quite marvelous -- simple, comfortable, charming.
We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. We have video cameras positioned outside of the home for everyone's security.

The neighborhood is enticing for casual strolls to and through nearby Hendrick's Park. There's off street parking for two vehicles and some street parking for additional vehicles. It's a 20 minute walk (1 mile) to Hayward field.
Be warned that the hill down to the field is steep, and does not always have pedestrian sidewalks. Pay attention while you're walking. There's lots of walkers and runners on the road too, so be mindful of them when you're driving. Texting and driving OR texting and walking are discouraged; if you can put your phone down for a few minutes, you will be delighted with the neighborhood and convenient location.
One direction leads you down a hairpin turn to the university campus, and the other direction dead-ends into the Hendricks Park's 12 acre Rhododendrum Garden.
The neighborhood is a destination for those looking to pay homage to Steve Prefontaine, the illustrious runner who inspired generations and sparked a movement. The neighborhood attracts those who seek tranquility in nature. Eugene's oldest city park, 80 acre Hendrick's Park is a regional destination for wedding photos, picnics, miles of walking trails, and native plant gardens.
Other things to note
The house itself is understated, not majestic nor ostentatious. It does not need to be dazzling, however, since surroundings are pretty darn fantastic.
To reiterate, there's lots of stairs throughout. You even go down a flight of stair just to find the front door. This is not a good spot for those with mobility issues. Of course there are handrails, but please be extra aware that this may not be the best spot for unattended children or frail elders. There's wood floors throughout the home -- no carpet to soften a slip & fall. If you can handle stairs, and don't have any fear of heights (the decks themselves are high up off the ground) then you will have no issues in the home.
