Kayaks available on property and pontoon rental optional. Or choose just to relax on the dock, or in the screened in patio. Wake to lake views outside your main bedroom window. This was exactly what we were looking for! Very quiet and lovely view of the lake. A peaceful retreat. The cabin was clean and well appointed. A marvelous time getting away from all the hubbub. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved our stay! Cabin was perfect. We sat out in the porch in the evening and enjoyed the birds. Early morning we were lucky enough to see an Otter swim by. It was an easy ride to the bike trails and walking trails. Had some good meals in Crosby and Iornton.

Loved the privacy. Fishing from the dock was good for a meal of Sunfish! Screened in front porch was good for the rainy days. House has everything you need. Short drive to town.

Wonderful get-away

Two couples stayed for 4 days. We cooked three dinners in the very well supplied kitchen; had many nice hours in the screened in porch; and generally enjoyed the relaxing vibe from the cabin.

The property was very clean and was well appointed. We didn’t use the lake. It was a bit weedy and had visible algae which could be related to the time of year. I enjoyed the screen porch very much, especially since the the bugs were out quite a bit, we would come here again

Perfect Cabin Getaway

We were blown away by the property and how beautiful the cabin was. Excellent spot for relaxing and enjoying the lake. Even when we had a rainy day we could just sit on the screened in patio and still enjoy it. We are already talking about returning later this year!

Absolutely gorgeous and accommodating. Loved the cabin feel yet very modern. Eagles flying overhead, beautiful weather, great screened in porch. Celebrated my wife's 74 birthday while kayaking. Loved it and we'll be back.

Beautiful

Beautiful, clean, quiet place with a nice view of the lake. We brought our bicycles and rode them right from the cabin to the nearby trail that took us into town. Nearby places were all nice and safe with plenty of places to eat. Host was very responsive.

The location, right on a quiet lake and just around the corner from a Cuyuna trailhead could not be better. The house is really comfortable and has everything you need. Spent almost all our time on the large screened porch. Can’t be beat.

Great place!

Very clean home with an amazing screen porch. We spent most of our social time enjoying lake views in the porch! Paddled the kayaks and bikes at the park. Perfect weekend. Grill worked great. Kitchen well stocked but could use a spatula for the nonstick pans. Bunk house best for tweens/teens.

Peaceful Stay

The good: Amazing view! Peaceful and quiet. Clean, nice bathroom and showersThe Bad: Smell was disgusting!! The odor was still on our clothes when we got home. No cleaning supplies, no laundry detergent or dish soap. No basic amenities like coffee, sugar, tea. WiFi was slow.

HEY PATRICK- WANTED TO RESPOND TO YOUR REVIEW. SO SORRY ABOUT THE SMELL, PLEASE REACH OUT DURING THE STAY IF SOMETHING THAT BAD IS GOING ON. AFTER SEEING THIS WE WENT INTO FULL SEARCH AND FOUND THE SOURCE AND HAVE ELIMINATED IT. THANKS FOR BRINGING IT TO OUR ATTENTION. LAUNDRY DETERGENT IS NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY US, WE DO LEAVE OUT IF PREVIOUS GUESTS HAVE LEFT BEHIND THIER STAYS, CLEANERS DID SAY IT LOOKED LIKE YOU HAD WASHED SHEETS AND TOWELS, HOWEVER WE REWASH JUST TO MAKE SURE ALL DONE,. WE DID HAVE A NICE TALK WITH CLEANING GROUP ABOUT MAKING SURE OTHER CLEANING SUPPLIES ARE THERE, THEY SAID UNDER SINK THEY DID FIND THEM, NOW THEY ARE LEAVING UP ON COUNTERS. HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN.

Beautiful patio overlooking the lake

Great location and an excellent screened-in patio made the trip worth it. The kitchen was very nice. The bunkhouse was not very clean but good for teenagers who want their own space. There was not enough toilet paper but the property manager was responsive and had some rolls dropped off the next day. Overall it was a nice place to stay on the lake and we would stay there again! Curtains on the bedroom windows would be nice.

Girls Weekend.

We had an amazing girls weekend. Checked out Crosby, Ironton and found lots to do. The checkin process for our house was very easy, Donald replied quickly to all my questions. This is a two bedroom house. Layout worked for us but we never sat inside unless at the island otherwise we were in the screen in porch. Our only complaint is the musty smell! With allergies it was a bit tough. I think a door at the bottom of the stairs and running a dehumidifier down there would solve this. Great location! Walk in showers were awesome. Being so close to the lake was fun also.

Can't wait to come back!!

This was a fantastic property and the landlord extremely attentive to our needs. The huge, screened porch, with lots of comfy furniture, has gorgeous views of the lake. The kitchen was very well appointed and lots of seating areas even for a large family. Tons of hot water and lots of towels. There was a super canvas swing/seat down by the lake for quiet reflection. The ability to do laundry was a plus with kids. Landlords provide both a charcoal grill and a gas grill. There was a fire ring but it was too hot for us to have a fire. The house had whole house air-conditioning which was a must given the extraordinary heat and humidity during our visit. Blackhoof Lake is not really good for swimming from shore but Cuyuna State Park has two swim beaches that are crystal clear only 8 minutes away. The fishing was outstanding and the public boat ramp nearby if bringing one's own boat that can be tied up at the house's dock. There were board games galore, plus ping-pong and foosball. It was a short bike ride from the house to feed into the Cuyuna State Park bike system that can be ridden into town for ice cream or peel off to the mountain bike trails. The only downside was the bunk house had no air conditioning and was wet/damp. They did provide several large strong fans. We did not use it so it did not affect our stay, and in the colder months with heat and/or the fireplace I expect it would be just fine. It was the BEST. All in all- we can't wait to go back!!
