We were extremely happy with our stay. Quiet, clean, safe area close to anything we wanted but yet still away from all the noise. Well lit parking area. Easy secure building access. Or room was spacious and clean. Very nice set up for our 4 adults. Very quiet at all times. One of the best places we've stayed. We will be back again!
Very nice complex! The grounds were immaculate! The apartment was clean and tidy. There was plenty of towels and washcloths. We were there in later October, and we did not use the pool facilities.The location was perfect for us. Easy access off and on the Interstate too!
Over all we had a great stay. It would have been helpful to receive a summary page of check in procedures before arriving, so that we knew what to do upon arrival. The beds were comfortable and the host was very accommodating and easy to work with.
The Park 88 apartment building itself is nice. Clean. Quiet. Keypad on building makes for easy access. Has great amenities. Grill. Pickle ball. Outdoor seating area. This unit has nice porch with chairs overlooking the parking lot. There are just enough utensils and pots/pans to cook for a few days. AC works well. Beds are comfortable. It’s in a great location with easy access to West Des Moines. I’d stay again.
Ideal Location, Comfortable Stay - Highly Recommended!
I recently stayed at this lovely condo in Des Moines for a week-long speech & debate competition at Waukee HS, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The property's location was absolutely ideal for us, being just a short 10-minute drive away from the school where the competition took place.
The condo itself was spacious and well-appointed, with two large bedrooms, each featuring its own ensuite bathroom. The king-sized beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest after long days of competition. One thing that stood out to me was the convenience of having a large laundry room right in the unit, making it easy to keep up with laundry during our stay.
Parking was never a problem, and we appreciated being close to grocery stores, a mall, and having easy access to the interstate for exploring the surrounding areas. The neighborhood appeared new and well-maintained, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere of our stay.
Communication with the property owner was excellent, and their responsiveness made the whole booking and check-in process smooth and hassle-free. I definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.
I do have a couple of suggestions for further improvement. Firstly, it would be helpful to have a guestbook or a QR code with essential house rules and WiFi information for guests' convenience. Secondly, I found that the kitchen could benefit from additional pots, pans, plates
Cancelled on our stay 2 hours before we were arriving.
We didn’t go to the property. I had been trying to contact them for 2 days regarding information we needed upon arrival. VRBO had sent us an email earlier saying we should contact property management if we hadn’t received our info and code. Phone messages mailbox was full, communicating by email and messaging communication was not responded to.
Finally, he responded to tell me that “I am very sorry but there has been an error in the booking and this unit isn’t currently available. Unfortunately we will need to cancel the reservation, I am so sorry this was my error.”
I responded, “Do you have any other units available? We are 2 hours from check in and need a place to stay. What’s your solution? When he didn’t reply quickly, I then also wrote, “You need to call me immediately and take care of this. Give us a bigger condo or find us another VRBO.
At that Thomas responded, “I won’t be demanded by you what to do because I made a mistake. We do not have other available units.
Later he did try to apologize again and wrote, “If we had another unit I would’ve gladly offered it. I am sorry for having to cancel. I know it is an inconvenience for you.”
Thomas obviously has no management skills or people skills and doesn’t understand that we had a binding contract. This company needs to be looked at from VRBO because this wasn’t perceived as a reputable company.
I would like to hear from you and talk about how this entire ordeal was handled and how this can be rectified. Thanks.
