Rob, host extraordinaire of Little Haven Bungalows, went out of his way to make sure our trip went off without a hitch. He was communicative before we arrived and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. This no frills accommodation was clean, well stocked, and the AC cold! Check-in and out was easy and we encountered no issues. Cute outdoor area BBQ / lounge, access to water toys, and private beach!
This was a delightful fine. Yes, there is age to the property and yes, parking is not the best. However, you absolutely cannot beat the location. A great backyard with beach access. It’s just lovely back there. Its proximity to Sandy Hook and great eateries is unparalleled. Perfectly clean with very nice amenities. Perfect for our use which was a sleeping place for our daily excursions. I do recommend.

Owner as very responsive and friendly, and so was his daughter. Location is nice right by the water. The town is nice. Bakery & coffee shop in walking distance.
Dishes dirty, floor dirty. Apartment pretty old (what we knew), but also pretty run down. Kitchen utensils very limited, don’t plan to cook big dinner.

A very pleasant experience!
We had a very pleasant experience with the rental of this house. The house description on the website matched the reality!
The place has the real kitchen for those who are interested in cooking, otherwise it is just steps away from dozen of restaurants. There is a very good grill and great outdoor sitting area.
It has private beach which was really nice.
The location is terrific: it is just 10 minutes walking distance from the ferry and 15 minutes from the public beach.
I think that the landlord is the most helpful and hospitable in the world.

A weekend in December
Robert allowed me to check in at 2 instead of 4 which was a big help. I enjoyed the location of the property. The unit was clean. Parking is a bit tight on those streets. Had to walk a few houses down to park in a parking lot. Not a big deal. The fire pit was a nice touch with the views of the city. Robert has probably one of the best views in Atlantic Highlands.
If you're looking for luxury and fancy, these bungalows are not for you. If you're looking for the perfect location with simple and clean accommodations, then you should check out Little Haven bungalows, B and D. We rented both units for 4 nights to spend family time with our daughter, son-in-law and our 4 grandsons, ages 10, 7, 4 and 1 and we had a wonderful time! You have the beach just outside your door and plenty of sandy play space. Robert is a great host. The kids had a blast!
Three generations of our family just loved the property. The bungalow was the perfect size, and access to the beach was amazing. The kids loved exploring the water and kayaking. Walking distance to great restaurants was a bonus!
We had a wonderful time. We mostly hung out in the kitchen which was very smalll but it worked. The apartment had everything we needed and was spic and span. We enjoyed having our own beach The beds were very nicely made up and comfortable. I don’t think the photos capture the true feeling. It’s much nicer. The heat was wicked and an additional AC was installed. The landlord was friendly and very accommodating. My “kids” (late twenties) really enjoyed talking with him. It would have been nice to have a deck but there was plenty of outdoor space. We loved the neighborhood.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Little Haven. Rob was a great host and it was helpful to have someone there who knows the area and the history of the area. The private beach was great for breakfast and the 5 minute drive to open water was perfect. Many great restaurants and other small towns within driving distance. Parking was easy and the kitchen/bath/beds were all fully stocked. Can’t wait for our next trip!
no parking heat was electric space heaters

Tom,
I am sorry you were disappointed and I am sorry you were unable to bring your mom to the bungalow. My listing is accurate. You should have read it more carefully and asked questions before booking.
You did not bring any of these issues to my attention during your stay. If you had, we may have been able to discuss them and find a resolution. I strive to make our guest's stay at Little Haven fun and enjoyable.
I wish you well in your future travels,
Rob Little.

Misrepresented
The host was very friendly and accommodating but this was not what we expected at all. It is a small home wedged between 4 other buildings. It was not very clean and there was garbage and other random misplaced items in kitchen and bedroom drawers. There was also no living space, just a TV in the small kitchen. The furniture was old and worn and overall it had a very strange feel to it. The pet cemetery out back was also a nice touch. Again though, the host was very nice, even refunded us 100% when we decided to go elsewhere, so I was very thankful for him being so kind and understanding.

First let me say, there is nothing misrepresented in my listing. This is a set of bungalows built in 1903, The buildings are over 100 years old. Unit B (Beach) has been renovated since hurricane Sandy. It is a second floor unit. It is furnished with antiques, many of which are from that period.
As for living space. This is a bungalow. I do not list a living room in my listing and I provided pictures of all the rooms and furnature.
The unit is thoroughly cleaned after each guest (please see previous reviews) The only item found in the drawer of one of the dressers was a packet of alcohol wipes. We supply them and there are several packets in the bungalow. I did not find any "garbage" in any of the drawers of the dressers. The kitchen drawer contains candles, batteries, a deck of cards and some basic tools.
Finally the marker for my dog. Jake was a Silky Terrier. He passed away in 2020 at the ripe old age of 13 years old. He was an icon in our beach community. He had over 20 people and a few dogs at his funeral. Our guests that stayed when he was alive loved him.
You chose to review me and give me (1) Star. You didn't even stay. I take this seriously and I strive to make the guests stay fun and enjoyable which is why I gave you a full refund.
I am sorry your were dissapointed when you arrived. Perhaps you should learn from this experience and look at the listings more carefully before you book. You can even look at the map and see the location of the property. Looking at the Satellite view you can see the layout as well.
I wish you well in your future travels.

Loved our stay! Sweet location by beach, walking distance to delicious food. Super friendly neighborhood. Kids and dog loved it! WiFi was excellent - kept 3 kids remote schooling and 2 adults remote working with ease. Rob was super responsive to questions and very welcoming. Hope to stay again in wormer weather!
At the risk of not having this place available for me, RENT THIS PLACE!!! It's awesome!
We've stayed in a bunch of VRBO places, but renting this place was one of the best ideas ever for our family. There were six of us, four adults and two children (5yo and 1yo) and the only thing we thought Bob forgot to include was a broom. :-D The kids LOVED the beach, and the nearby dock; the adults loved the proximity of everything, the privacy, the well stocked bungalow and its wonderful coziness, the hospitality of Bob & family (including Jacob, the cutest little silky terrier!) Everyone loved how knowledgable Bob was, as well, and my son even felt it was an educational getaway for him.
Yes, the place is small, but 'cozy' is definitely a better word to describe it. The sitting room is the kitchen area at the dining table, but we spent more of our time sitting outside. The place is clean, well appointed, and 'Net enabled (for those who can't stay away from cyberspace.)
We spent the afternoon crabbing and had a ball playing in the water. We were discussing a longer stay, since we all loved the place. However, a family emergency brought our stay to an abrupt halt. I will never forget how wonderful and accommodating Bob and his family were during this trying time for us. Even in such tragic times, his place left a warm glow to the whole week.
Thanks, Bob, for everything!

A last-minute getaway
Cute little bungalow on a quiet, private beach on the bay. Very clean and comfortable. Be prepared that there is no living room or sitting area - just a kitchen and 3 bedrooms with the TV in the kitchen. Fine if your group is 4-5 and you plan to spend all of your time outdoors. The owner's could not have been more hospitable or accomodating. Beach is perfect for small children as there are no waves and lots of shells to collect. For older children, bring beach and water toys and fishing gear. No real shopping in town, but great restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay.
