Absolute best experience we have ever had with our many VRBO rentals. This was such a beautiful home and for antique lovers, it’s a must stay. We were encourage by our host to enjoy the acreage, enjoy the history and enjoy our stay. All the amenities were first class. We spent hours looking at all the collections. We only have praise for Elise. Check in, easy, check out, easy. The perfect temperatures, plenty on hot water, frig filled with fresh water, freezer full of ice. Not for sure we can wait until October to go back for another visit. If there were more than 5 stars we would give them. Don’t forget to grab your favorite drink and sit on the back porch in the big rockers, morning coffe or evening ice tea, it’s the perfect spot to relax.
We loved staying at this place. It was like staying in a museum. We learned so much reading the walls. We came in for the antique festival and this was a great location for that. Also, we found everyone in New Ulm to be really friendly.
We enjoyed our stay, kitchen was excellent for making breakfast & hanging out with family. Happy to have access to washing machine & dryer, & updated appliances!
Would love more sleeping area downstairs but have no complaints!
We hope to buy some property to build our retirement home and have been trying various properties on VRBO. This property has multiple buildings (including the antique farmhouse), a cabin, multiple barns/storage units, a pond, a swimming pool, and lots of deer! Although the farmhouse is antique, there is an updated bathroom and modern kitchen appliances. The property was blissfully quiet!
Location was good for what we were in town for, as accommodations near are few and far between.house was listed as a 160 yo farmhouse, and that’s what we expected. We did not however expect was mattresses that felt as old, and critters running in the walls/attic. The fact that there was not a TV was easy to over look because we did not get the house for relaxation. Appliances were updated, and house was clean - just wish we could have slept better. With some updates to sleeping areas this place would be amazing for a get away!

The mattresses have all recently all hand made to fit the antique beds. Sorry it was not to your liking but the home is antique and the beds are true to the era. Your guests slept on all 5 beds and 3 day beds and threw linens on the living room floor as well so hard to understand which sleep space was not to your liking. Considering I had to pay $200 to clean it after you left and I spent another 2 hours washing all the linens good luck finding a hotel for how many guests you must have had for that price. As far as the "critters" go we filled all wall spaces with expanding foam for insulation a few months ago. Sorry if it is not good enough for you but yes this is country and we have squirrels running on roof. You had wifi. If you need cable TV as well I find that unrealistic for the price on the home. Best of luck finding what you expected elsewhere. I never advertised about having a TV.
Booked about a month in advance. Was told upon arrival Vrbo double booked the property. Then I noticed a gray truck parked in the driveway, a new private property sign & everything overgrown. There was huge plywood covering the windows. She offered another house but with dirt bikes we felt it was unsafe to stay. We drove 3 hrs back home & had to rent another home through Vrbo. She did offer a full refund & I appreciate that. Just not the inconvenience or lack of communication. Looked like it could have been a lovely vacation home.

You did not pay for the stay or even enter the home. There was no plywood. Are you talking about the blinds? Yes VRBO did overbook it even though it is sync to my Airbnb account. I offered you another home and full refund. Your one star review for a full refund is why I much prefer Airbnb as a platform. This is not only an example of their calender not working but slander from a guest who did not pay a dime or even enter the home. I spent over an hour working to get you a full refund. I hope you find peace and that new home you are looking for elsewhere. You chose to drive home. I had a home to offer you
