I don’t ever give full 5 star but this was the absolute best! Only thing I would suggest would be to scrub the shower heads! The views are absolutely amazing. So much space! Close enough to the city but far enough to be away as well!
The hosts were very responsive to questions we had. The cabin was cleaned and ready for us well before our arrival. We traveled with myself, the wife, our two grown children and significant others in addition to our two grandchildren (4 y/o and an infant). The cabin was updated and spacious with room for everyone to stretch out. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again !
Beautiful views, with a nice and clean spacious cabin. Only downside was the check in office was kinda far from the cabin and didn’t get to check in until little later than expected. But overall we had a great experience!
Very beautiful view and close to main attractions. We all enjoyed our stay. But the house was a little bit dusty. Overall I would recommend this house.
Cabin and view were great!! Had a bear visit daily. Only downfall was the bear was able to get the lock off of the trash container one day and we had to clean up the mess.
The cabin was beautiful! Had a perfect view of the mountain and we actually was greeted by a bear on our front porch! I couldn’t ask for more! Experience of a lifetime! We will definitely be back
Pros- the amenities/community were fantastic, the views/decks were fabulous and we loved that there were en suite bathrooms for each room. Cabin was kept cool for it being so hot. Plenty of opportunities to see bears with location. Great management services, easy check in/check out. Cons- all of the beds have coil spring mattresses which are SUPER uncomfortable and desperately need updated. The couch in living room was super stiff and uncomfortable as well. Also make sure to bring your own hand soap and toilet paper. Could be dusted a little better.
We stay at a cabin in Black Bear Falls every year. We love the area. This was our first year in this particular cabin. Upon arrival, one toilet had not been flushed and was very nasty. The cabin itself was nice but as mentioned in the previous review, all of the beds were very firm and uncomfortable. Otherwise, it was a nice cabin overall. I will pick a different cabin next year simply due to the mattresses.
Need better mattresses on all beds. Very old and hard to sleep on. Would like to see better quality toilet tissue and paper towels.
We will think twice before booking again based off of how uncomfortable the beds are. Spring coil mattresses are very uncomfortable.
This property had several positives and a few negatives. Beautiful view but I was disappointed that we were unable to see the sunrise or sunset. Their hot water heater may need new elements. The water was Luke warm. We became unnerved when a large bear removed the locked medal lid from the trash can container outside. It didn't respond to loud noises. We had to call the police. It pushed the AC unit back like it was nothing. A bear broke the window in a neighbor's car and ate candy. We learned a lot about bears.
The location is good because the city of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains attractions are close by. The lodge is well built and set up well, and has a good view of the mountains, just like the pictures. It was generally clean but there were plenty of spiders and cobwebs in the deck area and the place was quite dusty in certain places, so the general maintenance needs to improve. There were no coffee filters supplied, so even though we brought our coffee with us, we still could not make coffee in the supplied coffee maker without some improvisation using paper towels to substitute for coffee filters. There was no cleaning sponge provided to complement the dishwashing soap, and that was inconvenient because we were expecting to be able to easily hand-wash dishes in the sink. Aside from these minor inconveniences, we had an excellent stay, and were able to check-in and check-out without issue based on the provided instructions.
Overall this is a beautiful place to stay.
Pros: the cabin has this outdoory feel but open and clean. Plenty of space. The pictures on the site dont do the actual view of the mountains justice. Both walk-out porch areas are great. Hot tub was perfect for the dip in temps. I loved the location but understand that you will be driving 20-30 mins to get anywhere-trade off for staying in the actual mountains. Pretty cool driving in- the cabin 'neighborhood' has its own entrance which does make it feel more safe. It was neat too because as you drove in you kept driving up to the top of the mountain to get to this cabin.
Cons- beds are super hard (read that in a previous post-they were right). I, personally, slept in 2 of the 3 beds and both were hard. 42 yrs old and I woke up stiff. For the price we paid I wished there wouldve been better mattresses, actual hand soap for the sinks & real toilet paper (this stuff felt like tissue paper). But other than the beds the other points are minor and any renter can come prepared for that.
We have 3 kids so two boys stayed in one room and our daughter in the other. She felt super cool having her own 'vacation room.' For this price I wouldve taken another family of 3. There were 2 pull out couches for more space. The kitchen has all of the utensils you need so that was a bonus.
Also check-in notification wasnt until 4:45 so that was annoying and be sure to check your email for check out protocols.
