Great for rail-fanning or fishing - not peace and quiet
An honest review to help future renters in deciding if this is the property for them. Some people will love it, others not so much. Characters are limited, so I can't be too specific. Pros: *It is on the Juniata River and conveniently located near stores and restaurants. *It is decently clean and decorated nicely. *Management is responsive to problems. *Closed-in porch *Fans are provided Cons: *Railroad tracks are VERY close to the cabin, and at least a dozen or more trains roll through there day/night. Rt. 22 is very close, so there's highway traffic. *Property is much steeper than pictures reflect. *Property needs attention/odd layout: Awkward step leading into bathroom (tripping hazard). The shower is not nice. You need to go through the one bedroom in order to get to the only bathroom. There are no available closets and storage lacking. The exterior has many signs of lack of attention – too numerous to name. *I had to use a bath washcloth to wash the dishes, since no dishcloth or sponge was provided. There is no bath mat for the shower (safety issue). *Confusion about the water – is it drinkable like the email says, or is it non-potable like the album in the cabin says? *There is no driveway. Have to park in the grass, but management requests we don't leave ruts. Impossible when it rains. I wish I knew about these things before booking this cabin, so I hope it helps others in making a decision. I think there are other properties that are much nicer at a similar cost.

“Glamping” Fishing Cottage
We stayed here because we attended Juniata College’s graduation and this property allows a dog. We’ve booked other Aunt Suzie’s properties before and appreciate their professionalism & ease of communication. Their check in/check out procedures are very easy. A few notes about the property for others considering booking. It nicer on the inside than outside. The coffee maker is small. It’s not one of their luxury properties, they have so many nice ones. It’s woodsy setting makes it hard to keep clean, outside stuff was a bit dirty. Inside is well kept. We didn’t need to use outside-it was raining and we were not there long. But overall, it was close to Juniata & Neighborhood was quiet except for the train. It was a bit challenging to “get ready” without a full length mirror, but that’s not what this place is for!! I’d stay here again.
