This charming cabin, only 19' from the Shagawa Lake shoreline, was recently remodeled with guest comfort in mind. It welcomes you with panoramic windows for beautiful lake views from the open concept main room that includes the kitchen, living room, and dining area. New appliances, gas fireplace, washer and dryer, walk-in shower, bedding and towels allow our guests to focus on vacationing.
The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin beds. In addition, the living room has a comfortable queen size pull-out bed.
Enjoy a delicious cup of SK Coffee, a variety of teas, or a cup of hot cocoa, complete with marshmallows, as you take in a glorious sunrise. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to prepare your meals. In addition to the electric range, the chef will appreciate the choice of gas or charcoal grilling. Reliable WiFi is provided for those working remotely.
Outside, a fire pit surrounded with six chairs will provide hours of fun. Imagine the tall tales of the day spent fishing, your family reconnecting as you enjoy a favorite beverage and food while the kids play along the shore, or quietly relaxing while the waves lap on the rocks and a loon's cry can be heard in the distance while the fire crackles and snaps.
Shagawa Lake is known for its great fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and dog sledding. During summer a dock is available for our guests (boat not included). Bring your canoes or kayaks, and your pup, too! Outside there is plenty of parking for boats, trailers, and trucks making this home perfect for a wide range of sports year-round.
The cabin is peaceful and provides the feeling of being away from it all, yet it’s only a ten minute drive to the city of Ely. The county road where the cabin is located is part of the ATV/UTV trail system and at the south end of the legendary Echo Trail leading to multiple Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry points. Snowmobilers can access trails and the lake straight from the cabin’s parking area. (Trucks not allowed on the lake.)
With all these features and amenities, and the wonderful year-round lake views, we here at Echo’s End are excited to invite you to stay with us and make this your home away from home.

Stayed for three nights on a fishing trip. Very clean and nicely decorated cabin right on the north shore of lake Sagawa. It had a nice dock and fire pit. It had a super nice fireplace that kept the cabin warm. It had all the supplies needed for the for the stay. Only a few minutes drive to restaurants in Ely or the beautiful Burnside Lodge. I would stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time at Anne & Daryl’s cabin! The cabin itself was cute and cozy, and easily accommodated our family of 4. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed as well. Great little swimming spot for young kids, and dock for a rented boat. We loved the fire pit at night, and picnic table for meals outside. The cabin is 5 minutes from town so very quick to get around. Anne & Daryl were great hosts and quick to respond if needed. We had a great time!

We loved staying at this perfect cabin on Shagawa! The hosts have thought of every detail to make it easy to use: luggage racks, coffee filters, dish soap etc. The cabin has a beautiful view and is so close to the lake you can enjoy the sound of the water lapping on the rocks from inside the cabin. Being so close to Ely is convenient too. The shoreline is shallow and rocky so bring your Chacos if you plan to swim or boat.

This place was perfect for my husband and I! We come up every year for our anniversary trip and stay at a different place each time. I was so pleased with the solitude and beauty of the place! We saw so many different types of wildlife! Fishing was good. Caught lots of bass and some walleye, plus perch and northern. The location was ideal, as it is close to town, yet you feel very secluded! We even saw the Northern Lights! I would definitely come back!

Thank you for your review, Tanya. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, that the fishing was good, and that even the Northern Lights made their appearance while you were there! We would be pleased to welcome you and your husband back anytime!
Echo’s End was perfect for our lake get away with our daughter. When you pull up to the cabin you have a wonderful view of Lake Shagawa. We even had a loon on the lake to greet us! The cabin carried on the loon welcome. with the decor. We had everything we needed for our stay. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Comfortable beds for sleeping. Ely is only a short drive away for anything else you might need. The hosts respond to messages quickly. We would definitely stay here again!

Great communication and very clean. If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. There is only one door, and there are several wooden steps. If you bring a small dog, you will likely have to carry it up and down the steps every time it needs to go out. There is also one wooden step inside to get to the bathroom and bedrooms. Small dogs will also need help with that step.

Our stay at Anne and Daryl's lakefront home was incredible. It had everything we needed and we truly felt at home. The lakefront is gorgeous, we spent a lot of time outside. We caught some very big bass right from the dock. The inside is well stocked and we really appreciated having access to a washer/dryer. They had staples like salt/pepper and seasonings. They supplied our group with enougth t.p., towels, tissues and paper towels for our 5 day stay. Many times a rental does not provide them and one of your first outings is to a store. The locaiton to the town of Ely is perfect. A short drive yet away from the commotion. We also did several hikes, all w/i 20 minutes from the cabin. It was a perfect place for our family to experience Ely. Thank you Anne and Daryl and we hope to be back.

We had a wonderful time at Echo’s End. Adorable cabin with everything you need. They thought about all the small details. Just steps from the lake…the view is beautiful. Nice and private feeling with woods around you. Caught several big fish right off the dock. We rented a pontoon from a local place…the lake is big and beautiful to explore. Town is only a 5 min drive. Swimming was good too. Lots of rocks so bring water shoes. Everything was perfect except the mosquitoes…which is normal for northern MN. You will need lots of bug spray at all times of day. Highly recommended a stay at Echo’s End. We are already planning our next trip.
