This uniquely secluded property has something for everyone. While relaxing in the quiet confines of nature, you’ll truly appreciate everything this property has to offer. The property had everything we needed. A fantastic and quiet location on the beach. Judi was so much fun! She adopted us and showed us an amazing time! My wife and I have been to Costa Rica many times and the 3 days we spent here were as good as any we have ever had! So much fun! We will be back!

We went there for a family/friend surf trip. The place was amazing and Jackie the cook should be a 5 star chef!! My daughter and her friends have been here before and wanted to go back with family. Great place to have to get away from the crowds for just your group. Looking forward to going back!

What can I say... the place was fantastic! Judi and Steve are the salt of the earth, and helpful in every way. The food was great, the waves were fun and I didn’t want to leave… with any luck we’ll be back again before too long.

We love Judi’s place:) this is my second time there, the house is incredible with pool, yoga area, indoor and outdoor eating space- and the waves right out front are just beautiful. We will all absolutely be back. The graciousness of the host and Jackie etc cannot be beat. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation

Pure Paradise

This property is so amazing. Everything you would ever need right on the property. Steve, Judie, Jackie and William were very pleasant to deal with. When we come back to the Pavones area we will be staying here. We had Jackie prepare an amazing local dinner one night and william gave us tours through the 7 acres of paradise. He always knew exactly where the resident sloth would be and full go knowledge about the local plants and trees. Steve and Judi had SUP's, longboards and short broads to use right at the house. Huge bonus when the swell dropped down to have the SUP's. Thank you again, PURA VIDA!!!!

Heaven on earth

Judy’s property is an 11 out of 10. We were a little worried about the lack of reviews but took a chance because we wanted to be centrally located between Zancudo and Pavones. Upon arrival, we were all floored at the beauty of the tropical gardens and location. You’re steps away from an amazing beach, and the breeze off the ocean cools you on the patio and in the house. We didn’t use the air conditioner in our room a single time during our 9 day stay. Judy’s two sweet dogs Benny and Peanut will come visit and bring you joy and happiness during your stay. There are sloths, macaws and interesting birds of every color and description. Surfing lessons with local instructors just steps up the beach, and you’ll quickly make friends with the various locals that are helpful and fun to visit with. You will cry when you have to eventually leave.Note: The sweet housekeeper Jackie is absolutely indispensable in arranging taxis and for advice on directions etc., and cooked us several delicious meals which we all enjoyed. ,

Family time at Christmas

We had a really wonderful time at the beach house. The owner was very responsive and helpful. She helped us coordinate food and activities. We went horseback riding at sunset on the beach right out side our door. The kids surfed with a local instructor a couple of days. We loved the pool and the 3 hole golf course. Bring some extra balls as the jungle seems to eat them. We had some meals made at home and the cook was fantastic. She was a great cook and made meal time easy and no hassle. Make sure to bring plenty of cash. There isnt an ATM for miles (like 60). My only cons would be the furniture was a little worse for wear and we were not a fan of cockroaches. There werent a lot but my mother in law is terrified of them so it was eventful if we saw any. Im sure the hot humid climate makes it a never ending battle. All in all we had a magnific time. I really appreciate all the hosts did to make our stay great. We made some fantastic memories !

BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN PROPERTY WITH AMAZING STAFF!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and it couldn't have been better! There were 8 of us ages ranging from 18-54 friends and family. The bedrooms and bathrooms made it easy for 3 different friends/families to our own rooms and bathroom. The property is expansive and gorgeous. The grounds are so well taken care of and the pool is always clean. There is so much space on the property for taking a stroll, playing frisbee, playing golf or just taking in the wildlife. It is ocean front and the sunsets are amazing. Grab a surfboard or kayak or just take a walk down the beach where it is much sandier to hop in for a swim. There is plenty of spots to get relief from the sun if you need it but there was a beautiful breeze most of the time so it never felt hot until you left the property. The house is very well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen has all gadgets one needs to cook up a fresh catch and the outdoor living area near the pool has a beautiful grill, sink and granite counter to prepare. The washer and dryer were key as well! BEST part of our trip was getting to know Jackie and Dana. They were both so helpful and there when we needed them to help filet a fish or offer suggestions. Jackie is an amazing cook!!!!!!! She cooked tico cuisine for several meals throughout the week and she did not disappoint. We were all amazed and couldn't wait until the next meal. We got some recipes to try at home but I guarantee they won't be as good. She is amazing!!!! If able I would definitely rent a car. There is a grocery store close by but a hot walk for sure. Horseback riding and fishing excursions were worth it! We would come back here in a heartbeat. Judi was so helpful and always responsive with all of the questions (like 50 :)) that we had prior to our arrival and she checked in while we were there. Good idea to use what's app as this helped communication with Judi and Jackie. We could just the translation option to help. OVERALL AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

Fantastic garden and beach home

A long drive but totally worth it. Judi and Steve are super hosts. We stayed in the main house on the second floor with a huge veranda overlooking the gardens and just steps away from the beach surfing, golf, horseback riding and a great swimming pool. Jacki and Geiner are great as well, she made us a delicious dinner one evening and he brought us coconuts that were skillfully carved as drinking mugs with their fresh coconut water for a refreshing drink and showed us our first sloth which was hanging out on the properties many acres. Super stay, we hope to come back sometime.

Great time at the Beach, Family of 5.

We spent Christmas here and it was fantastic! This place is incredible and Judi was a huge help with multiple aspects of our trip. From recommendations of where to buy food to what to do in the local area along with massage appointments, her and Steve are great hosts. My boys are 5, 10 and 13 and this place was perfect! Literally steps from the beach the house didn't disappoint, it was great and we fell into a routine of beach mornings, then to the pool and then my youngest could take a nap while the other two and I did other things. 1/2 mile from the house is a nice supermercado that you can source most of your provisions from, it is rural CR so don't expect everything you can get in the states. We asked Jackie, the resident care taker to do some cooking for us and she didn't disappoint, she is very talented and her plantain tostadas were awesome. I helped her cook a meal to observe her technique and I'm pretty sure I blew her mind with my willingness to do so, she explained to me that Tico's don't cook. My whole family thought her chicken meal was the best, it involved Coconut milk and Litzano Salsa but I don't know the rest as I was packing that night, I hope to get an idea of what was in it from Judi. Basically you buy the food and Jackie cooks it for you. We flew from XNA to SJO then on Sansa aboard a Caravan to Golfito and then rented a car. We arranged National to drop the car at the airport with Alexander and he did great. We had Enrique organize a fishing trip for us and we also set up a jungle tour at Tiskita with Mario that was great--all Judi's recommendations. When we return we would like to get some surf lessons and do a horseback ride. Thank you Judi and Steve for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Still my favorite place on the planet.

Second time staying here. Still love it. Takes a while to get here... but so worth it. House is very nice. Grounds are incredible. Location is flat out amazing. Surfed every day we were there. A few small days, but it wasn’t surf season and we still had several days w/ amazing waves. Discovered the town of Zancudo on this trip and found some nice beachfront restaurants somewhat nearby. Took a cool river tour there too. We were fortunate to have the owners, Steve and Judi staying nearby this time and it was great to meet them. Got to take a tour of their development project down the road, and Steve set up several members of our group w/ an amazing fishing day. The two of them are a wealth of information and were great to have around. Also can’t say enough about Jackie the caretaker. She handed me a glass of her Christmas ceviche when I was walking past their place. Best thing I ate the entire trip. My wife says we still have a lot of the world left to see, but I already can’t wait to come back here!

Amazing property, gorgeous house, perfect for our group!

Judi and Steve were kind and generous enough to allow us to host our wedding on their property. It was all we could have asked for! The outside grounds were perfect for a big party, the a/c house was perfect for all the girls to get ready, and the pool, beach out front, and golf course were all in use the following day. I love this property and Steve and Judi are the most gracious hosts! Thank you!!!!!

I feel like not writing a review so people dont discover this place but that wouldn't be fair for the owners. they deserve it. This is a unique experience. Huge house, spacious, lots of comfort in the social areas. Huge second floor porch so huge it holds chairs, a small lounge and a dining table. Beach front, the garden ( or botanical garden ) is maybe two acres of beauty that includes its own three hole golf course. The housekeeper family is just warm and diligent. And the owners who are great and on site most of the time, lend you golf equipment and paddle boards or surf boards to go enjoy the waves with your family.

Quite possibly the perfect trip.

One of the best trips we’ve ever taken. 13 or so acres right on a virtually private beach. W/ in walking distance of 3 different surf breaks and the home of the best surf instructor we’ve ever used (Sean at Agua Vida Surf). Little bit of trip to get into town, but just an amazing location that I could probably move to, if given the chance. House is situated on a large estate. A two bedroom upstairs w/ a kitchen and living room and an additional one and a two bedroom apartment downstairs that you can rent... or not. Plenty of room. Very nice pool too. Caretakers and groundskeeper are extremely friendly and accommodating. Our daughters made friends w/ their daughter almost immediately and they had a playmate that absolutely made the trip for them. Every day consisted of getting up and walking down the beach for a ridiculously inexpensive surf lesson with Sean on some of the longest gentle waves you can imagine. After that we’d either go into town for lunch or spend the afternoon in the pool or on the beach. Cocktails on the patio made with fresh fruit from the orchard at sunset, and then a good book and early to bed to get up and do it all over again. I’m ready to go back!

It's a "one of a kind" place!

Pavones delight

The stay at this site was too short. We were trying to be ambitious and stay on both sides of the Golfo Dulce in a 6 day period. We had such a fun time at this property surf, swim, and golf (yes golf). It was a lovely house enjoyed old movies that were there with the kids and felt pampered. Next time we bring more friends and family and have a family fiesta. You won't need but light clothing, packing light is recommended. We drove from San Jose you might consider flight to Quepos and renting car from Vamos. But we were glad to stop for groceries in Jaco for gourmet items ( Tofu, almond milk, granola, peanut butter, jelly etc) and Rio Claro for staples.) Groceries are high in Pavones. Make sure you turn on road before Surf restaurant, we missed it first time. Judi the owner is great and supportive by phone in those moments. Arrive before dark reduces anxiety for cars occupants. But when you wake up in am you will be amazed at properties location and amenities, like your own private Hotel.

The Best Vacation Ever!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in late July with our best friends. There were 8 of us -- 4 adults, 2 older kids and 2 younger kids. Our families loves to surf, and the setting could not have been more perfect. There was a fantastic point break a short 10 min walk down the beach and a break right out front that's perfect for beginners and intermediates. The grounds and golf course are beautiful and meticulously maintained. The on-site family is wonderful and is adept at finding and sharing all kinds of Costa Rican wildlife/ reptiles with the guests. The town of Pavones is a 20 minute drive from the house, and there you will find massage, horseback riding, grocery stores, and a few restaurants. We will definitely be back!!

tropical lush setting

Every aspect of our week long stay could not have been better. The ocean is just outside your door. The one site family is very helpfull,friendly and gives you added security(even though none is needed in such a friendly community). The vast grounds are lush and maintained on daily basis with great care.a botanical garden. The pool is prime, and the house is a well built,spacious and relaxing. Great place,people and stay.

Perfection

I could not have found a more perfect vacation home for my family which included 7 adults and children age 16, 11, 2, and 6 months. The grounds were exquisite with a manicured 3 hole golf course as well as the most beautiful flowers and plants imaginable. Also there were fruit trees to pick oranges, grapefruits, lemons, bananas, coconuts etc. We were able to get fresh milk and eggs every day from the neighbors with the help of the housekeeper. We went down the beach for fresh fish and a delivery truck brought fresh fruits, vegetables and some meats and chicken twice a week. The beach was right in the front and you could take long walks. Activities included some surfing and other board activities, kayaking in the ocean and swimming in the beautiful salt water pool, golf or just relaxing. Everyone in the family loved being there even though we were somewhat isolated. It was soooo wonderful to be away from commercial property. When we did not prepare our own meals, which was infrequent, there were restaurants one half hour away. We took several wonderful tours with CoCo tours to an animal refuge and a riverboat ride. There were other activities available but unnecessary for us. The owner was exceedingly helpful answering all of our questions regarding the location and transportation to the property. The house was lovely with room for all 11 of us.. some were small children. We had all the conveniences we needed and the house family that lived on the property were more than helpful. As I said.. this house and location was so very perfect for us... We even had a wedding with our immediate family and some Costa Ricans on the lovely beach. We all felt we had arrived in heaven. We hope to return in the near future.

Costa Rica is my "Happy Place," filled with wonderful memories and promises of more to come! Upon arrival I quickly unwind and relax in this tropical paradise. A warm inviting home nestled in a beautiful extended garden with private pool all overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Whether I choose to curl up in a comfy chair on the deck with a book, check out the local surf spot, see a group of monkeys swing by or catch the evening sunset, all is possible from this beautiful home.

9 days in paradise

WOW! Such a beautiful surprise! The photos don't do justice to the experience we had at this little piece of paradise. The home is beautiful... sounds of waves at night lulled us to sleep, and tropical birds woke us in the morning. If you're looking for a true cultural experience, you'll get it there. The locals were so friendly... especially the couple who live at and take care of the property. They showed us around, knocked coconuts out of the trees for us, and even provided some exciting wild life viewing. It was so hard to leave, but we took with us some great memories... and some friends that we will see again on the next trip!

We are in our 60"s and both surf and paddle board. We also enjoy golf, so we put in a "3" hole golf course to add to the uniqueness of this property.We have decided to start renting it so others can share this special location as much as we have.

This is a very unique spot. A small private resort on the beach that is perfect if you are very active or if you just like to curl up with a book. Words can't describe the beauty and wonder of this place.
