About this property
Cozy 3-bdrm with Ossipee Lake access, near White Mntns, Skiing, Shopping, Hiking
Nestled between the White Mountains and the Lakes Region of NH, Riley's Lodge offers the best of both worlds welcoming you back year-round. You'll be surrounded by nature yet have all the comforts of home. Sip your morning coffee in the breezy sunroom or front porch, enjoy your book by the woodstove, or make s'mores by the firepit. The neighborhood is peaceful with a private beach 0.9 miles away. You'll love Riley's Lodge, named after our beloved black lab who we adored for a wonderful 14.5 years.
The space
Riley's Lodge is cozy yet spacious and has all the comfort of home. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, electric stove/oven, full size refrigerator, and all the kitchen gadgets you need including a Keurig, 12-cup coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. The open concept master bedroom is upstairs with a queen bed and en suite. Two more bedrooms are located on the first floor with ample beds. There is another full bathroom on the first floor with a beautiful large walk-in shower. There is a tv in the main living room as well as the finished basement where you will find a pullout couch and a futon. Need laundry done? The washer and dryer is in the basement laundry room. Enjoy playing games or doing a puzzle in the breezy and bright sunroom.
The house has central air conditioning, great water pressure, and clean tasting well water. Bedding and bath towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. The fire pit and wood stove are yours to enjoy. Use with caution! We may be able to accommodate earlier check-in/later check-out by request, as long as there are no guests before/after you.
*Maximum guest allowance is 8 people per the town of Freedom.*
*Our home is not a gathering place for large parties, loud music, and lots of drinking. The owners and the neighbors WILL NOT tolerate any of this. If there is evidence that this occurred that will be reflected in your review and you will not be allowed back to Riley’s Lodge in the future. *
Guest access
Guests also have access to the Lake Ossipee Village Beach Club which is less than a mile away. Bring your own beach chairs and towels and spend the day at the lake! The beach has bathrooms and a roped off swimming area. No lifeguard on duty. * Guest pass (lanyard at the house) required to access beach each day.
Other things to note:
For those skiers and snowboarders looking for some fresh powder, King Pine Ski Area is just a short 10-minute drive away. There you can enjoy downhill skiing, cross country skiing, skating, tubing, snow shoeing, and sleigh rides. Cranmore Mountain is 35 minutes and Attitash Mountain is 42 minutes.
In the warm summer months enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ossipee Village Beach Club on Broad Bay just 0.9 miles down the road, a short 15-minute walk or a quick drive with plenty of parking. There you’ll find a large private sandy beach, picnic tables, and bathroom facilities. Bring your own floats, beach chairs, and beach towels. There is a roped off swimming area; however, there is no lifeguard on duty. Beach rules are in the house guide book and hung on the basement door. Please read them. Next to the Beach Club is Goodhue Boat Company where you can rent fishing boats, sport boats, pontoons, and even tubes, waterskies, and wakeboards. Make your reservations early!
Looking for some great shopping? Settlers Green Outlet Village in North Conway is a scenic 28-minute drive away. You’ll also find many quaint shops including the famous Zeb’s Country Store, many restaurants, and the Conway Scenic Railroad.
Other local popular attractions include the Kancamagus Highway (stunning during leaf-peeping season!), Indian Mound Golf Course, Diana’s Baths, hiking trails, and snowmobile trails. About the host
Hosted by Marie
My husband Mark and I are from northern Massachusetts. We enjoy watching our three boys do what they love. Together we like to watch movies, play games, and travel. After finding this lovely lodge in December 2020, we want to share it with others when we can not enjoy it ourselves. You'll love Riley's Lodge, named after our beloved black lab who we adored for a wonderful 14.5 years.
Why they chose this property
We love that this neighborhood is very peaceful and friendly. We love it close proximity to the lake as well.
What makes this property unique
We find this property unique because of it’s closeness to the lake, skiing, and many places to go and things to do in all months of the year. In the property itself, we love the outdoor shower, fire pit, bonus, basement room, AC, and wood-burning stove.
