About this property
Washington Family Home - National Treasure, Est 1750 located at 107 S Lee Street
Oldest functioning house in Old Town dating back to 1750. Originally built by George Washington’s older half-brother, Lawrence, who passed the home to our founding father. Walk and live in the footsteps of authentic American history. Hulu rented the place in summer of 2023 to serve as an authentic backdrop for one of its interviews on American history.
Situated as the first home from South Lee and King Street, which is the true heart of Old Town. A lovely home with an outdoor courtyard, perfect for gathering guests around two fire pits.
There is a full kitchen, dining room, family room, study, and one bedroom with queen-sized bed.

About the host

As a veteran, I renovated this property to restore a part of American history. It is located on the oldest functioning property in Old Town, which dates back to 1750. The original owner of the property was Lawrence Washington, George Washington's half brother. Truly, you will be walking in the unique footsteps of pre-revolutionary American heros.
Why they chose this property
Location:
At this location, you would be 50 feet from the intersection of King and Lee Street, which is the most popular location of all the best restaurants in Old Town, all of which have outdoor seating. Additionally you would be just a block and a half from the Potomac and the park that runs along the water (with ferry access) all the way to DC. You simply cannot beat this location.
Parking:
There is on-street paid parking from Monday through Saturday, and street parking is always free on Sundays and federal Holidays. Unpaid parking is available 150 feet (west) in the Burke and Herbert parking lot after 5pm on weekdays and after 1pm on Saturdays. You also have the option to park at the covered garage immediately across the street between Lee and Union Street (115 S Union Street) for $15 per day and $10 overnight (sign details below). There are 3 other lots all in about a 1.5 block radius as well with similar rates.
Metro/Trolley Service:
A benefit of the location is that the King Street Trolley is a free shuttle that runs to the metro every 15 minutes. It starts one block from the house (City Hall/Market Square) and ends at the King Street Old Town Metrorail station. It runs from 11am to 11pm, seven days a week, including holidays.

What makes this property unique
This is the oldest functioning property in Old Town, which is the closest property to the intersection of King and Lee Street. Truly the heart of one of the most iconic small towns and the most beautiful streets in America.
