Lakefront Home + Saltwater Pool + Slide | Private Dock, Fire Pit | Sip, Sip Away
Set on a generous three-quarter-acre lot along the western shore of Lake Norman, Sip, Sip, Away is built for the kind of trip you'll be retelling for years — fourteen guests, five bedrooms, a loft, and an outdoor setup that gives every age group something to do.
Outdoor Oasis: The 24'x48' saltwater pool is the centerpiece, and the new water slide turns it into something closer to a backyard waterpark. The pool isn't heated, but it shines from late spring through early fall. A few steps away, the fire pit becomes the evening anchor — pull up a chair, roast a few marshmallows, and trade stories from the day. The fenced yard gives kids and pets room to roam, and just beyond it, a paver path leads down to the private dock. A kayak, paddleboard, and additional lake gear are stocked and ready for whoever wants to push off first.
Open, Easy, Stocked: Inside, high ceilings and oversized sliders pull the outdoors in. The living room is set up for the whole crew with a deep sectional, two swivel chairs, and a TV big enough for game day. The kitchen runs on a full lineup — double oven, full-size fridge, dishwasher — and the island seats three for cocktail hour while someone takes on dinner. An eight-top dining table sits just off the kitchen with lake views as the backdrop. Past guests have called the kitchen "the gathering spot" — and it tends to live up to that.
Where Everyone Sleeps: Four bedrooms on the main level keep the layout flat and friendly. The primary suite features a king bed, an ensuite bath, and sliders that open to a covered deck and sunroom. A bunk room with two twin-over-twin sets handles four kids without breaking a sweat. Two queen bedrooms — one of them wrapped in windows — round out the main level, with a newly added queen-bed bedroom and ensuite walk-in shower offering extra elbow room. Upstairs, the loft adds a quiet escape with a queen sleeper sofa and TV.
All-Season Room & Game Room: Just off the back deck, the all-season room is wired for downtime: a high-top bar table, a large TV, and easy flow to the covered porch. It's a popular spot when the lake winds pick up or when you just want to settle in with a drink. The game room is stocked with ping pong, air hockey, and a bar table — the kind of setup that quietly steals a couple of hours every evening.
Lake Norman & Beyond: Denver sits on the quieter, western side of Lake Norman, where the pace runs slower and the lake feels less crowded than the Cornelius and Davidson side. Local favorites like Chillfire Bar & Grill and The Foundry at Trilogy are a short drive away, and Latitudes Bar & Grill is closer still for casual lake-area dining. Lake Norman State Park, with its hiking trails and swim beach, sits roughly twenty minutes north, and uptown Charlotte — restaurants, breweries, Bank of America Stadium, and the Spectrum Center — is about forty minutes south. Wine country fans can detour to nearby DuGaren Vineyards for a tasting, or push out to Childress Vineyards for a longer afternoon. Whether the plan is full days on the water or low-key time poolside, this stretch of Lake Norman tends to leave guests wanting one more night.

The house had everything we needed. The only bummer was that the hot tub is still not in order, but that is listed in the advertisement. Prior to my stay, I asked to have property management reach out to me and let me know when people would be on site doing any maintenance to the house so that I could be sure my dog was put in the house and wasn’t startled. Both the pool and lawn maintenance people came through the back gate without my knowledge and luckily I was able to get my dog put away however, the pool guy left the gate open and my dog got out. Thankfully, one of my children saw my dog in the front yard out the window, so we were able to get him inside before he went missing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear the home had everything you needed for your stay, but we’re very sorry for the issues you experienced.
We understand how stressful it must have been with maintenance access, and especially concerning the fact that the gate was left open, allowing your dog to get out. That is not the level of care or communication we expect, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption and safety concern this created. We will be addressing this with our maintenance and property teams immediately to ensure proper communication protocols and gate security procedures are followed going forward.
We also appreciate your note regarding the hot tub listing. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention, and we’re grateful you stayed with us. We hope we have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother and more seamless experience in the future.
The property mgr company were great texted me and called to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything and to check that we were happy with the house. Plenty of room and pool and hot tube /game room all great -kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. I’m
This was a great experience!! We loved the house, the location, the view, the pool, the porch and I could go on and on. The property manager was amazingly responsive and fast.
The property was perfect for spending time outside. The pool is huge and the outside covered deck was our favorite spot for meals and playing games at night . We brought our boat and the dock was well maintained and covered and about a 20 minute boat ride to a public dock. We stored our boat trailer at a storage place about 12 minutes from the house. It is on the less touristy side of the lake so it is not crowded at all. You have to drive about a half hour to get to shopping and restaurants but worth the drive to have a less busy area to vacation in. Will try and book this house again for sure.

Hi Meredith! It sounds like you had an amazing time at this property, especially with all the outdoor amenities! The large pool, covered deck, and well-maintained dock seem like they made your stay perfect for relaxing and enjoying quality time. It's great that the less touristy location offered a peaceful retreat, even if it meant a bit of a drive to shops and restaurants. Bringing your boat and finding convenient storage nearby added to the experience. It definitely sounds like a place worth returning to!
The house was spotless. The kitchen had absolutely everything. The bathrooms were great. The pool, slide, hot tub, kayaks, pedal boat, and ping pong table were terrific. The living room furniture was brand new. The response to questions was great...
The only downside (hence the practically) was that they did not disclose that there was no window in the 5th bedroom altho it did have 2 doors for egress
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sip Sip Away ! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. The house was equipped with everything you would need. The owners were having a leak problem with the pool causing a pool wide algae situation that kept us from being able to use the pool. There was also a distinct mold/mildew smell from the bathroom right off the kitchen. We just kept it closed and didn’t use it. All in all would stay there again as long as the pool was in working order..

Donna, thanks so much for your feedback. We appreciate your patience with the pool and we hate that this interrupted your stay. Thanks for letting us know about the bathroom, this was something that has not been brough to our attention. The leak in the pool was repaired! We hope you will be back to enjoy the property again!
The owner knew the hot tub was broken for weeks and said they couldn’t find the part. The same excuse was used for the boat. Very disappointed that we couldn’t use them.

Beautiful place
The biggest challenge we had was no lights on when we arrived and dealing with getting a code since “Avant” computer didn’t assign us one. The agent didn’t speak English well who was assisting and was convinced we were at the wrong house because she had the wrong reservation she was looking at. We stood outside in the dark in cold rain for about 30 minutes trying to get the code.
Place was well supplied. They had a complete set of kitchen pots/pans/anything you would need. Propane for the grill. Wood for the fire.
I had to replace batteries in their ceiling fans. None of the remotes would change the lights or fan speed. They had a paddle boat. It didn’t work well with a “redneck engineered” rudder, but it was fun none the less.
Overall, the home and experience was five star. I just dropped a star because of the check in being difficult and the management company being so “big” to not know which property they were looking at even though I gave my name and reservation number three times. Mostly wanted the owner (if there is one, not just the company) to know.
