We loved being able to sit at the table, have coffee and have a view of Haystack rock. Not to mention being able to walk tight out and be in the beach.

That sounds like the perfect way to start the day! Nothing beats coffee with a view of Haystack Rock. Hope to see you at the beach again soon. Thanks again!

Stayed here last year and enjoyed it. The sand dine in front was even bigger this year which kind of blocks the view and is hard to get up to go down to the beach so that is a drawback.
Unique themed place made the stay fun. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. Access to the beach unmatched. Shower water pressure was also incredible. If I critiqued anything, it could be time for a deep cleaning like vents and fans and cobwebs and sand management - but no big deal. Five stars from me.

the owner needs to invest just a small amount in new bedding silverware and furniture. the heating system leaves a lot to be desired. i would not recommend this unit and definitely would never stay there again. i have stayed at many different rentals along the coast and this was by far the worst.
Property was as described with a location that can’t be beat. The sand had dunes built up next to the house, but this was disclosed as a possibility. Will definitely stay here or in the area again.

Thanks for the great review! We’re glad you enjoyed the unbeatable location and appreciate you choosing a small, local business. We’d love to have you back anytime!
We hope to see you at the beach again soon. Thanks again, Kiwanda Coastal Properties.
Great stay at the Black Pearl. Comfortable, well stocked, and great location. The only thing that was less than optimal is the bed pillows are in desperate need of replacement but that's a very minor issue and did not affect our enjoyment of the property.
Over all it was a nice stay. Tons of wind and a Hugh sand storm it cover the car I sand ! Took several washes at a car wash just to get it off the car.

Lets start with the smell of closed up musty house that was not pleasant. Someones dog has chewed the wood door frame in the master bath. The front porch has holes in the decking and just random wood laying on the porch. The view was amazing but 850 for 2 nights to have a view of the ocean seems a little expensive to me . Will i come back no i wont would i recommend it probably not .
Location location location! This property is literally on the beach, about 1/2 mile walk to Cape Kiwanda & Pacific City town area. Quaint small house, decorated in a “Pirates of the Caribbean” style. Small kitchen, moderately stocked with older appliances, difficult for more than 1 person to work in kitchen area. Adult beds very comfortable. We did not use the children sized bunk beds. Beach chairs would have been a nice supply but we made do. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but good to know that the house is small and dated.
What an incredible location! And, we didn't order it, but incredible weather as well. We were in shorts and t-shirts as the sun went down. The house is older and small, but my family said they would rather stay here than one or two blocks east in a "McMansion" because we were right on the beach. Beds were comfortable. We turned the laundry area into our pantry during our stay. The kitchen is tiny, but well stocked. Bring chairs!
