Contemporary Cottage - An LA Oasis with Private Heated Pool and Patio

Tucked away in a peaceful setting with lush landscaping is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of LA. The Contemporary Cottage has the charm of a country cottage on the outside, with a fresh, contemporary design on the inside with a full kitchen. Or, fire up the patio grill and have a barbecue in a shady garden overlooking your private pool.

OPTION: Pool Heating - There is an additional charge to heat the pool.

The Guest House has a living room with high ceilings and a fireplace, as well as a separate full kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It is furnished for your comfort, including a high-end sofa bed, a 40” TV with both Cable and 'Roku' channels that includes 'Netflix' movies and 'Pandora' music. The bedroom also has a TV with 'Roku'. Plus we have free wireless Internet. There are private indoor and outdoor dining areas, as well as your own washer and dryer.

The French doors in the living room open out to a brick patio, lovely landscaping, and a large pool for your enjoyment.

Unrestricted street parking is always available, and you have a private gate entrance with keyless code boxes for both gate and Cottage..

Your hosts, Michael and Laura, live in the main house, and are happy to help make your visit to Los Angeles very memorable!

If you book with us, we require that every guest sign a liability waiver for pool and BBQ Grill use.

We follow Enhanced Cleaning guidelines between stays.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please wash used dishes and silverware and put in drying rack next to sink.
Please take out the laundry basket located in the bottom drawer under the TV in the bedroom. Please put used sheets and towels inside the basket.
Please take all interior trash bags, and open kitchen door to the outside - 15 feet to the right, you will see 2 small bins for both regular and recycle trash.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Our hosts were most exceptional and made sure our stay was as pleasant. We were greeted upon arrival and all aspects needed for us to know was quickly shared. Michaels place was amazing! The yard and pool area were breathtaking. The house was clean and cute! Everything about our stay was amazing. Michael came over and introduced us to the place when we arrived and gave us some tips and tricks. He was easy to get in touch with and very willing to help. Would 100% stay here again. Everything was beautiful, and it felt private despite being attached to the hosts house.

Great location, safe, clean and so cute! Private pool, propane grill and outside seating. Couch pulled out to full size bed and 1 bedroom with full size bed. Fireplace(didn’t use) everything you need to cook,Keurig single coffee maker and full size fridge,gas stove and all the dishes etc provided. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods close to get supplies/groceries ….had a great stay!

My son and I loved our stay. It was perfectly located to easily get to all the hot spots in LA. The pool was perfect for a quick refreshing dip between activities. Michael was so nice and even had a cold beverage for each of us upon our arrival!

Hello! We are Laura and Michael Palazzolo.
We were both born and raised in Los Angeles, but we have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world, and we look forward to hosting travelers from near and far.

We met working at Universal Studios Tour may years ago, and we still live only a few minutes away from one of the most popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles.

Laura knows a lot about homes as a director for many shows on HGTV (Home and Garden Television) - She is currently working on the network's #1 show 'House Hunters' and travels all over the country on a regular basis.

Michael also used to work in Television production, and he is now devoting his time and attention to being an excellent vacation rental host.

Our favorite American city besides Los Angeles is Chicago, IL and our favorite vacation destination is Hawaii. Michael's heritage is Italian, and Italy is our very favorite country to visit!

And a song that that makes us happy is what else: 'HAPPY' by Pharell Williams! And that is how we want you to feel when you check in and check out of our 'Contemporary Cottage'!

Why they chose this property

This cozy cottage is tucked away in the back of a historic property built in 1936, and has some Hollywood history attached to it. The original owners were famous movie stars named Joan Blondell and Dick Powell. At the height of their career, they bought this Sherman Oaks ranch as a 'country home' that originally included horse stables and a chicken coup. This special home has had only four owners in over 70 years. The current owners are the Palazzolo Family who have happily lived here for more then 20 years.
