About this property
Historic 1780’s Beach House with Large Veranda! Nestled on Cambridge Beach!
Kitchen with oversized stove and oven, 2 x large fridges & two dishwashers as well as all the kitchen &equipment you will need to prepare a gourmet meal. Two grocery stores are a 5 minutes’ walk down Cambridge Road. Bus stop is 5 minutes’ walk. Air conditioning in all bedrooms. Stainless BBQ, large enough for a meal for 12 people. 2 x 55 led TV'S. Outdoor showers. Comfortably decorated and renovated with all the modern conveniences, the gracious old Bermuda home is a wonderful venue for a family reunion, or a getaway for friends who want to enjoy a tropical setting.
West End: Interesting places to see in the vicinity would include Dockyard. The extraordinary installation features a collection of spectacular buildings erected for navy re-provisioning in the very early 1800?s. The Maritime Museum out at Dockyard on Ireland Island has fascinating displays of items from Bermuda’s extraordinarily colorful past, fully restored. The Commissioners House is an iron structure with the most commanding view of the island to be seen anywhere- from end to end. Other handsome buildings now house art galleries, museums, cafes, artist’s workshops, theatres and pubs as well as a major ferry stop that will whisk you into Hamilton and on to St. Georges. Heading east by road towards Hamilton, you will be charmed with the town of Somerset- it has a post office and pharmacy, nice places to dine and little shops where you can re-provision while admiring the views and the mangrove-edged beach. Ely’s Harbour at Somerset Bridge has a small marina where you can rent boats and explore.
Railway trail / Restaurants: The Railway Trail is nearby as well, and offers a peek into Old Bermuda, as the trail wends away from the main road and past some fascinating old homes and farms with jaw dropping views. The grand beaches at Horseshoe, Warwick Long Bay and Elbow are a short bus or moped ride away and some are serviced public beaches with cafes, beach chair and umbrella rentals available. The Watford Bridge terminal is half a mile walk away. The local Supermarket is close by as well and spirits are sold until 9pm, and groceries can be purchased there until midnight or at the 24 hour store just 2 min walk. Casual dining can be enjoyed at the “Frog and Onion Pub” Bonefish Grill, Amicci's 10 minutes away at Dockyard or next door at the resort at Breezes on the outdoor beach restaurant. There are several take out options in walking distance right here in the village, and or you can get delivery service
Boat rentals: There is a boat rental a minute walk down the street at the dock in Mangrove Bay. Lasers, kayaks, Boston Whalers and all the snorkel gear you’ll need for rent is available there. They have experienced staff ready to advise you on the best cruising itinerary for the water sports adventure of your choice, with great fishing spots, waterside restaurants, ship wreck snorkeling, island picnicing and all kinds of water toys and more
We recommend Oleander Cycles as they have a kiosk next door at the Cambridge Beach Resort and Spa.
The house has two plugs to fast charge the electric rental cars, and I'll provide more info on transport and rentals once you've booked.

The house was great overall- it was spacious and well equipped for everything our group needed. The host and housekeeper were both quick to respond and helpful with any questions we had. We very much enjoyed our stay here!
Overall a very nice property. We like to be off the beaten track and it certainly was.

Hey thanks for the review, and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay on the property. I'll make sure the description better reflects the path to the beach. I usually tell everybody its at most 2 min walk, even tho I do it in less. Hope to see you back again.
Ben
perfect for a family; lots of space, great, huge porch, easy walk to the beach. Lovely stay unless your idea of perfect is a Four Seasons. Wonderful property manager, lots of helpful information.
Nice, spread out house that provides indoor and outdoor space to congregate but also privacy in bedrooms and bathrooms. 2 minute walk to beach with chairs and umbrellas and 5 minute walk to Somerset long bay beach. Walkable to good size grocery store, a few takeout restaurants and bus stop. The nooks and crannies of the property are amazing. Hammock, moon gate, benches, outdoor showers, so many birds and gorgeous lush foliage surround the house.
We had a terrific stay at Cambridge House and highly recommend it for large groups. The house easily accomodated our party of 13 with plentiful bedrooms, bathrooms, and indoor & outdoor living spaces. The house and property has tons of character and personality with lots of little surpirses here and there. The location close to Cambridge Beach resort was terrific.
Relaxing and lush oasis easily accessible to the island bus route. Host very responsive to all our needs. Full grocery store in easy walking distance. The area beach was close, inviting and private. Highly recommend for large gathering.
Three generations (including grandchildren from 7 months to 4 years) enjoyed a week of fun in the sun. Ben was very accommodating and gave great recommendations for boat excursions, rentals for baby equipment, and local markets and restaurants. The short walk to the beautiful beach was perfect for all ages. The front porch was a central hub for relaxing, playing and meals. We would highly recommend this location.
We had a great week we got together from Philadelphia New York and Michigan to a beautiful house within a beautiful island we met nice warm people and enjoyed the sun and the closeness to the sea in summery great
We had a fabulous stay at this property. We were a large party of sailors and spouses. Cooked dinner every night at the house for 20+ guests. There was plenty of room for everyone and we thoroughly enjoyed the front porch! The beach was incredible, with beach bar and all! Would be a great property for a large family!

We enjoyed our stay at Cambridge house and would stay again. Some of the furnishings need to be replaced and a bit of freshening up would take it a long way. It was very convenient being next to Cambridge beach resort we ate a lot of our meals there and enjoyed the beach chairs and umbrellas. You can not see water from the property but is a very short walk to beach. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful and the properties yard was fun with all tropical plants and tropical birds Rooster wasn’t our favorite but we liked the baby chicks with their mom. If you are looking for a very relaxing vacation and don’t need to have five star plush this home is fun and has a lot of personality.
This house was perfect for our family of 6. We had a wonderful week-long stay. Ben was an incredible host - picking us up groceries bcs of our late arrival and providing a pack and play and high chair for our infant. The house and property were beautiful and the neighborhood is fantastic. The closest beach is a very short walk from the house (closer than some of the accommodations at the neighboring resort). The property is also within easy walking distance to restaurants, a nice grocery store and 24/7 convenience store. There are plenty of beaches within easy walking distance. The closest beach is actually the nicest but it was fun to explore the area and have some variety within walking distance. Thanks Ben for the beautiful home and your amazing hospitality!
Wonderful Family Reunion & 80th Birthday Celabration
Ben and his team allowed us to leave our bags early so we could enjoy the nearby beach prior to checkin. Great house that accommodated all 10 of us with separate bedrooms and baths. Comfortable large kitchen and seating areas inside and out worked very well family gathering and birthday party. He made our stay very enjoyable by providing fresh water and responding to our needs with recommendations of island services and activities for the entire family. Very convenient location with close by grocery store, bus and the harbor for boat charter. Great place to stay.
I organized an impromptu gathering for my wife's big birthday with friends and family coming from all over. Bermuda is a great location for this, lots of direct flights and generally perfect weather and great beaches. This property was perfect for us, gave us the elbow room to spread out and a great porch to hang out. We booked Crown Point Concierge to manage our logistics like airport transfers and tours, boat tour and private chef for our stay. I can't say enough amazing things about how friendly and accommodating everyone was from both the property and the Concierge team. Truly a great stay.
Our family group of 13 had a wonderful week at Cambridge House. When we weren't out exploring the island or relaxing at the very close-by beautiful beach next door, we spent lots of time together on the large veranda, dining, playing games, and catching up. The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained - we marveled at the night-blooming cereus and enjoyed watching the chickens wander about the yard. The house was clean, spacious, and well stocked. The owner was both attentive and helpful. All in all, a wonderful week in paradise.
The property was even better than it looked and in a great location. Ben was brilliant, very welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. We had a mixed group of friends and my parents (age range 50 -75) but it was all perfect. House is very spacious, well appointed and its easy to get around and the beach is literally just out the back of the property. Couldn't have asked for a better place and will definitely be back. All 12 people from the party are looking to return! Fabulous!
The house was an excellent location for a family wedding at Cambridge beaches resort. The house accommodated all 15 people ranging in age from 3 -84. The steps leading down into the lower rooms were steep and care had to be taken. The house was super and had lots of character. And the Comunications with the owner was great and all the questions we had were answered quickly and fully. The grounds were extensive with coconut trees and bananas with birds visiting constantly.
This house has a great historic Bermuda vibe while having all the modern amenities. The layout is awesome. A 3 bedroom configuration in one wing is great for a family, then several bedrooms in the front part of the house and then another 3 in the downstairs layout. It was great for the 3 families we had on our trip! the check in and check out process was so easy. Air conditioning in all the bedrooms but note that there is not AC in the front common rooms. Not a big deal unless you are going in the hottest month of Sept which we did. It still stayed pretty cool with a Bermuda breeze the whole time. This property is right on the edge of Cambridge Beach Resort which worked out great for us as we had the rest of our family staying there. We rented bikes from the place on the resort, the boat rental place H2O is right down the road, and the market is a short bike or cab ride down the road. The beds were super comfortable and well stocked bath and beach towels were on hand. We loved our stay!!
