Getting Around:
Winter Weather & Mountain Travel Notice
During the winter months, weather conditions in Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain can be unpredictable. Snow, ice, high winds, and rapidly changing road conditions are common and should be expected when traveling to and from the property.
For your safety and ease of travel, we strongly recommend arriving in a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle during winter months. Snow chains may also be necessary depending on conditions. Guests are responsible for monitoring weather forecasts, road conditions, and state travel advisories prior to departure and during travel.
We strongly recommend planning your arrival for around 4:00 PM while daylight is still available. Mountain roads can become significantly more difficult to navigate after dark, especially during or after winter weather events.
While we make reasonable efforts to clear driveways and walkways, snow removal is not guaranteed, especially during active snowfall or severe weather conditions. Natural snowfall may accumulate faster than it can be safely cleared. Snow shovels are provided for guest use so you can clear additional accumulation to your preference.
Mountain travel may be slower than expected, and road closures or delays can occur without notice. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment in case of weather-related travel interruptions.
Please note that winter weather, road conditions, flight cancellations, or travel delays are not valid reasons for refunds, date changes, or cancellations outside of the listing’s stated cancellation policy. By booking this property, you acknowledge the inherent risks of winter mountain travel and accept responsibility for arriving safely and prepared.

Very quick and responsive host. Cabin was great for our family. It was clean anf included all the needed supplies and even extra supplies. We loved the location for quick and easy access for skiing, restaurants, and shopping. We also loved the gated porch area for our dog to enjoy the outdoors and watch the deer families : )
We absolutely loved our stay at Banner Elk! This home was perfect for our family vacation. It was conviently close to the ski slopes. The home was well kept and decorated. The basement was a little cold but the owners had space heaters in place. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to coming back!

We had wonderful time at this cabin. We did have some issues with running out of propane in very cold weather but eventually it got resolved. Cabin was nice but definitely needs some updates. Great communication with the owners to resolve problems . This cabin is in very nice location with beautiful views . Skiing very close. Our dogs also enyoed the stay.
The home was amazing. Lovely in every way. The decor was perfect for a cabin retreat. The hot tub was a nice treat after a long day of skiing/snowboarding. The location was great; we even walked to the slopes both days we skied. Sunrise was beautiful over the mountain. Family of deer came by during our visit. The cabin had all the amenities we needed. Everything was clean and well stocked. Great visit. Highly recommend!
The house was spacious for our family and we enjoyed the hot tub and porch rockers and fire.

What a wonderful stay on Beech Mountain! There were 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs and we all had plenty of space to spread out! We enjoyed the porches, hot tub, and fire pit table. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the beds were comfortable too. It's located in a peaceful location with a beautiful view. We would stay here again!
Perfect home for families and friends! Pet friendly home with clean hot tub! We got to see the deer resting in the morning and walking around during the day. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I would definitely recommend and return!
The stay was great! Clean, easy, 5 minutes from the mountain, no issues. Will stay longer than one night next time. Host was very communicative as well.
This cabin exceeded all expectations. The place was spotless, great attention to detail in all rooms. Our family got great use out of the huge deck with fireplace and grill. Hot tub ready to go upon arrival.Communication also excellent and prompt.100% will stay here again!
Property was great. Loved the decks. Comfy furniture. Lots of character. Nice basement We had a golden retriever with us and I really like that we could just walk out the front door and walk down endless light gravel roads without any traffic.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful chalet in Beech Mountain! The home was clean and well maintained, with stunning views all around. We especially loved the huge deck, perfect for relaxing around the fire pit and enjoying the fresh mountain air. The setting is peaceful and private, surrounded by trees and visited by wildlife. Checking in and out was a breeze. Great communication with hosts. Very much recommended.
This cabin is absolutely beautiful. Great layout and plenty of space to spread out so that everyone is comfortable. We loved the hot tub, eating in the beautiful dining room, coffee by the fire table and our deer visitors. I will say that if you have older guests, there are some steep steps to get down in order to access the front door, which made unloading the car a little tricky in the rain. We had a few minor issues. The fireplace on the main level wasn’t working which was disappointing, especially on a cold night. We also had some electrical issues and had to keep flipping the breaker. Overall, an incredible home and we would say here again!
Overall a great experience and loved the cabin. Great location, views were amazing, tons of wildlife and we were thrilled to listen to the waterfall around the bend! Host communication was excellent. Overall a great experience. We did have some minor things we weren’t thrilled with, but weren’t so bad to annoy the host about. Minor things like drawers/cabinets needing a clean and the hot tub could use a new filter, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One thing to note if traveling with small children, the king bed is on the 2nd floor, and the bunk room is in the basement… so bring monitors if you’re concerned about being multiple floors from the kids. We look forward to returning!Overall we were comfortable and
