Cute place and attentive owners. We booked less than two weeks out so not many choices. Some minor issues but place makes up for.

Quaint and comfortable!
The neighborhood is so quiet and relaxing yet enough to keep my 2 young boys entertained! We enjoyed the hiking trails, the pool, the river and just walking the neighborhood. The great location was perfect.
The cabin is cozy and very well equipped with everything we needed. It felt like we stayed at a family friends home. Look forward to coming back.

The cabin felt very homey, everything we needed! It is more roomy than I expected. Kitchen was well stocked! Reserving through tripadvisor was easy and the owner great to work with. The community is nice, clean and close to everything we wanted to see!
The bunk bedroom smelled a little musty but it is such a great place-didn't bother us!

My kids loved it!!!
An enjoyable stay at the tree house. My three year old couldn't wait to stay in a "tree house." My 17 year old could stop saying how much she "loved" the place. We were grateful to Alex for helping with our stay before, during, and after. Thanks so much!!

Tell the kids they will always be welcomed at the 'tree house". The High Country is definitely a kids paradise. How can you go wrong, where at every turn there are FREE Waterfalls, hiking trails, watering holes and if the budget allows.. lazy river tubing, white water rafting, ziplining etc etc etc.... See you soon at Two Rock Treehouse... and don't forget the parents!
We truly enjoyed staying at Alex’s little treehouse in the mountains. We are a small family of humans and furry babies and it suited us perfectly. It was an easy drive to both the city (Boone) or the ski slopes (Sugar Mountain) - they are both within 15m driving, albeit in opposite directions. The cabin is well stocked and has been updated, so don’t let the rustic or cabin decor fool you. The kitchen has granite countertops and all of the pots, pans, dishes, and utensils you need to prepare your own meals. Alex and family have done a great job of labeling everything and provided excellent instructions detailing arrival/departure tasks. The cabinets are well labeled tooI’m not sure if it was planned this way, but the bathroom wall decor is covered in vinyl stickers from area venues and restaurants. I enjoyed reading them to check out the places that other visitors have explored. There’s definitely more to the area than skiing and the mast general store. There are tons of hiking trails and a lot of little local restaurants and shops. Just a small heads up - the community center has tennis courts, but if you’re an avid tennis player, I would go elsewhere. They are just fine for a casual pickleball match or two with the family though. Also, if you’re traveling in winter, make sure your vehicle is equipped to handle steep drives and tight S curves/switchbacks. The neighborhood is windy and only really had a single lane road one lane road once you pass the clubhouse.
We loved it! We enjoyed it from the moment we drove up. It was so clean and the decor was warm and inviting! It fit our family of 6 perfectly. The intent was pretty much just hole up and enjoy each other's company and that is what we did! We didn't get to go out much due to single digit temps, but we all think it would be amazing to stay again in the summer.
I can't thank the owners enough for their detailed information on making the most of the cabin. We definitely made it our own and felt completely at home!
Anyone looking for a cozy mountain getaway...this is the place for you!
I really can't find any fault with the cabin itself, other than maybe that the light switches should be labeled. But neither I nor my kids were too thrilled about the neighborhood. The roads are narrow and steep, the "yards" are tiny, and the houses are practically one atop another. The kids did not have any room to play outside. Fortunately, there are places mare minutes away by car we could take them to. So, I would say that if you are travelling to the area to go skiing or enjoy Boone or Banner Elk, then this place is perfect. But if you want to enjoy a little privacy in the mountains and have outside playing space for the kids, then this is not it.
The cabin in Banner Elk was cozy and warm even though it was COLD outside…..in the 20’s at night! The beds were very comfortable. There are 2 flights of steps up to the cabin. They definitely give you a workout. The community of Mill Ridge is close to many things to do in the mountains.
My family and I loved this cozy little treehouse! My son, who is a senior in high school, is applying to Appalachian State, and we already know we want to rent this frequently if he ends up going there! It was clean and inviting! The kitchen is gorgeous and the bathroom is so cute, with the stickers from the surrounding areas on the walls. The heaters work great and kept us very comfortable! Thanks for a great weekend!
Cozy cabin situation between two huge boulders on the mountainside. Loved the deck are for quiet time in the mornings. The cabin has everything you need for a get away. Mill Ridge is a great resort with so many things to do: swimming. Hiking and tennis. I just enjoy walking up the mountain to see all the different styles of cabins and beautiful landscapes!
My wife and dog rented here for a quick weekend get away in the mountains. We had plenty of communication prior to our arrival and had the property owners cell in case we needed anything the entire stay. Fortunately we didn’t and our stay was spectacular! Highly recommend and hope to be back for future rentals!
A great place to stay in the heart of one of NC's favorite tourist areas.
A lovely cabin in a quiet community only 9-15 miles from all the seasonal activities, from whitewater to skiing. The Blue Ridge and other less physical activities are also nearby.
The owner is fantastic, easily reached if needed and will make sure your vacation is worry free. We are here in winter and have enjoyed a peaceful, pleasant time with just enough to do, even with many places closed for the season.
We had a wonderful time at two rock treehouse. The house was very clean, beautiful and comfortable. It was nice that a pack and play and booster seat were provided! The owner was quick to respond to any questions that I had and even went out of her way to recommend local things to do. We will be back!
