Gorgeous Villa , overlooking the unique Paraggi beach.
Surrounded by a garden of heaven, beautiful walk to the beach or to famous Portofino.
Despite the breathtaking location, our Paraggi villa is affordable and sleeps up to 9 people in 5 bedrooms . A/C in the bedrooms !
Both the location and house are first class.
This is an old historic house located on the ground floor of the Villa,
There is a main living room with antique tile inlays, opening to a gorgeous terrace surrounded by bougainvilleas and olive trees, with a spectacular ocean view, and an outside covered dining room.

On the right wing of the house we have:

-1 Queen Bedroom with stunning views
-1 Bathroom
-bedroom with 2 single beds.

On the left wing of the house we have:

-1 Queen bedroom
-1 Single Bed with private 1/2 bathroom room
- large bedroom with 1 single bed and one queen bed.
-1 Bathroom.

Attention:
The Villa is the ground floor of a 4 story historic home that has been divided in 4 Villas, one per floor. Ours has the ground floor with private terrace and all entrances are very private.
The villa has a gorgeous path surrounded by grapes, orange trees and flowers that leads to the beach. Also a shared Pool with the other Villas located in the property!!

Keep in mind that the path to the beach is a steep hill and it has steps and dirt pathways. It's not suited for people with disabilities. The road to the villa is narrow and curvy, best for compact cars.

Other Amenities: The property is located in the middle of a natural park, so that there are many wonderful paths to explore along the cilff and up on the mountain with a breathtaking view of the sea.There's a shuttle every 20 minutes that takes you to Portofino or santa Margherita.If you like food and shopping in Portofino you can find the best quality of them in a romantic set. Here you will have all the facilities you need, like banks, pharmacies, hairdressers, tourists office, taxis, grocer's shops and post office.

Other Activities: You can walk down to the Paraggi beach, the villa's gate is just across from the beach entrance, and is the best one in that area. From Paraggi you can choose to walk,there is a delightful walkway surrounded by the park,overlooking the cliff, or drive to Portofino, where you find restaurants, fancy yacths and stores. By train you have to stop at the Santa Margherita Ligure station and catch a shuttle to Paraggi right in front of the station (every 20 mins). Paraggi is 3km away from Santa Margherita Ligure where you can find every kind of shops, facilities (hospital, train, supermarket) and the traditional market on tuesdays. A famous golf and tennis club is located in Rapallo,just 7Km far from Paraggi. By plane: airport Cristoforo Colombo in Genova (45km) or airport Galileo Galilei in Pisa (150km) or Milano Linate (about 2 hours by car).

Most beautiful location. What a place. Family stay across 3 generations, and something for everyone. All rooms spacious. Great communications and very welcoming hosts. Only thing for me personally that could be improved is the bed in the master room. I would bring everything else home with me if I could!

We had the best time!!

We would give villa Ucelli 100/10. It was the most beautiful location!! The owner Franco was delightful, and the property manager Nikola was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely stunning. Walking distance to Paraggi beach, Portofino, and Santa Margherita. The public bus is located just down the hill for easy riding to Santa Margherita & Portofino. Amazing location. restaurants, people, beaches - absolutely loved it!!

Exceptional spot

La Dolce Vita is an exceptional property on the Portofino peninsula. Note: it's more accurately named Casa Bianca, after the noted Milanese architect Carlo Bianca who designed it in the early 20th C for the family who still owns it today (this from a generously informative document provided by the entrance). Casa Bianca is an interesting double entendre, since it is a "casa bianca" (WHITE house), unlike most in the area. I guess La Dolce Vita is its VRBO "stage name". The villa is isolated from the glitz of Portofino and bustle of Santa Margherita and Rapallo, but conveniently accessible to all (Portofino by walking -- though challenging for the 82 yr old in our group -- and all by the frequent and very accessible #82 bus) as well as to the excellent beach at Paraggi. FYI, the 'town' of Paraggi is no more than a beach, a couple of restaurants and hotels and one (ONE) shop that sells beach essentials. No bodegas, no real provisioning like that easily found along the lanes running back from Santa Margherita's waterfront. La Dolce Vita is stunning and architecturally distinct from those in the area -- more like one might expect to find in Amalfi, with decidedly pan-Mediterranean features. The beds and baths are comfortable and well-appointed. However the kitchen could use some updates. It's a classically tiny Italian household kitchen, but it functioned well enough -- as such kitchens always have for Italian families -- for our small group. Given the idiosyncratic floor plan built around the hexagonal soggiorno, kitchen expansion would be challenging, but a modern stove would be start. The loggia and graveled terrace areas were a great pleasure for sunning and meals, with sparkling sunrises, views of gin palaces floating out on the cove and a tremendous fireworks display the first night (just for us, obviously :-). Wildlife sightings included wild boar (cinghiale) in the area. We didn't use the pool but might have had the season been hotter. Olga was a very welcoming and informative property manager, full of information and good cheer. (Thank you, Olga) La Dolce Vita in Paraggi is a great spot, for its location, condition, hosting and architectural significance. We would certainly (and might well) return for another visit.

Great for Families and Friends

The Villa was very charming and incredibly well situated. The beach was the nicest in the area and it was a very quick bus ride into Portofino or Santa Margherita. The kitchen was small and there is no A/C, but the charm of the property, location, and size all made up for it. A very enjoyable experience overall for my family and friends.

Wunderschönes Anwesen mit Blick auf das Meer

Wir waren als 2 Familien dort und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Großartiges Haus, sehr gut ausgestattet , toller Garten . Der Betreuer des Hauses war stets erreichbar und hat uns sehr geholfen. Man sollte in der Anzeige nur hervor heben, dass der Pool von zahlreichen Nachbarn ebenfalls benutzt wird. Wir wurden öfters an die Pool Regeln erinnert ( die Kinder sollten u.a. nicht im Pool laut sein.. und auch nur von 10-19 Uhr in den Pool gehen), jedoch sind die italienischen Kinder ständig vor unseren Kindern gesprungen. Kleiner Hinweis: Es leben Hunde in der Nachbarschaft, gern war auch ein Hund bei uns im Haus, was uns nicht gestört hat, sollte man aber wissen. Auf jeden Fall, ein sehr schönes Haus.

Absolutely Amazing!

It was a lifetime experience. The property was beautiful, location gorgeous. Close proximity to many towns and cities. Roads and driveway challenging, but worth every minute. We were surprised that the other villas were the other floors of the property, so startled when we realized we were not alone. All worked out well.

The villa and location were exceptional. the space was ideal for 6 adults and 3 children/grandchildren. We were there recently and though the temperatures were slightly higher than normal, the easy access to the beach (sandy) the pool at the villa and the sea breezes were delightful. Portofino was easily reached by foot and a great time was had by all.

Dieses Feriendomizil ist nur zum empfehlen. Wir waren zu neunt & haben es sehr genossen. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Jedes Zimmer hat seinen Charme. Die grosse Stube/Wohnzimmer mit grossen Flügeltüren und sau gailem Mosaikboden ist ebenfalls ein hinkucker! Der Aussenbereich ist fantastisch. Der Blick richtung Meer ist atemberaubend. Auch das viele Grün des Gartens ist toll. Wir haben uns in dieser Woche in das Haus verliebt. Wer weiss vielleicht kommen wir wieder.

Second Time

This was our second time returning to Villa Ucelli & it somehow managed to top last year's trip. It is easily the best kept secret on the Italian Coast & needless to say we will be returning in July again next year. Our hosts were also extremely hospitable, even going as far as arranging restaurant bookings & catering whilst we were at the villa. They also helped make arrangements for us to hire a boat for the day from one of their friends.

Amazing home and perfect for a group!

I recently stayed here with a group of friends (10 total) and for such a large group we still felt that the home was extremely spacious. The villa is beautiful and has stunning views of the Paraggi bay. Our favorite part was the outdoor dining area and lounge chairs where you could relax after a day of sight seeing. If you do not have a rental car/Vespa it is a bit of a walk uphill or stairs to the villa but we did not mind at all. It was extremely easy to get to Portofino or Santa Margherita as the bus was just at the bottom of the hill. Overall, highly recommend!

Family fun at Villa Ucelli

We recently stayed here with our young family (2 x toddlers & 1 infant) & absolutely loved the villa/pool - it was extremely spacious & in a fantastic location. The villa itself was very clean & well maintained. Our kids loved the beach at Paraggi (down the hill & across the road) & we enjoyed being situated between Santa Margherita Ligure & Portofino. We will absolutely be back to stay at Villa Ucelli. Lastly, Cristina & Mik were very pleasant to deal with.

Lovely and magical place!

We absolutely loved staying here! It was perfect for our group as the bedrooms are set away from the living and kitchen areas. The place has such a magical and lovely feeling. We felt very relaxed there and it was easy to take the beautiful walk to Portofino, or the bus to Portofino or the other cities along the coast. We had a splendid time!

It was perfect in every way!

Couldn't have been more perfect place to stay. Great location right above a beautiful beach, 2 minute walk to bus going to Portofino or Santa Margherita. It was spacious, relaxing, clean, well appointed and so homey. The owner and property manager were incredibly helpful and easy to reach. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Location, Space and Privacy.

Our group of 8 (4 couples) spent a wonderful 6 days here enjoying both the space and privacy of the villa as well as many day trips to surrounding locations. The villa was well equipped to cater for 8 people but we also enjoyed meals in the varied restaurants just a 5 min walk down the steps. The pool was a welcome refresh after a long day out and of course the views from the outdoor areas were spectacular.

Great property in the best location on the coast

We stayed in the villa for four days last summer (2012), and all I can say is I wish I could return to it. It was one of the best experiences of the trip. The location couldn't be better - a five minute walk from the emerald green waters of Paraggi (one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy), away from all the buzzing vespas and cars, but close enough to be able to go back and forth from the villa to the beach multiple times. The villa is surrounded by plush greenery and beautifully colored plants and peace and quiet are the only sounds you hear from the patio. The house itself is solidly built and has a lot of character and history and we found it to be spacious and comfortable. All the necessities were there and if anything was needed Cristina and Michele were always a phone call away and very kind and helpful. The photos don't do justice to the beauty of the villa and its surroundings. I highly recommend it for vacation travelers who want to explore the area around Portofino and the Cinque Terre without spending all of their time in the most touristy areas.

Ucelli-Villa nice and special place!!

Nice old vila with short walk to the beach! Vieuw is nice! Strong wish would be a (shared)pool, due to the villa's exposure is something to be in "line". beach-beds are much to expensive, special rate to Ucelli -rentals wouls be great and expected! regards Fam. Frank Duijff Holland

Why they chose this property

Paraggi is very exclusive, known for having attracted celebrities and very traditional Italian families since it's surrounded by Villas and Castles.
A walk brings you to the famous harbor of Portofino (15 minutes on foot, 5 minutes with a lift) - this fine harbor, where grand yachts lie at anchor, where VIPs stroll along the promenade, where exquisite fish restaurants and elegant designer shops decorate the picturesque bay.

As always with Portofino, it is best to arrive with a large yacht. If this is not possible, take the train to Santa Margherita and then a taxi to Portofino. There is also a bus service between Santa Margherita and Portofino (travels in both directions, which runs every 20 minutes, depending on the season): Portofino can be reached from S. Margherita by bus in 10 minutes.

There is a ferry from Portofino to S. Margherita/Rapallo/5 Terre/Camogli/S. Fruttuoso. Water taxis are 100 Euros per hour. Pick up service at Genova airport can be arranged (about 100 Euros, reservation at least 10 days before arrival is required).
