My husband had stayed at this property with friends last October. It was so clean and the owner so helpful that we decided to return together for my 50th this March. It was so convenient for local amenities and was close to the bus stop for easy transport links to downtown Austin. The owner was excellent at keeping in touch to make sure all was okay, even alerting us to a local powercut. The property had everything you need for a relaxing stay away from home. For the price, it was also excellent value for money. We would definitely recommend and would seek it out again if we were returning to Austin.

This was a great property in the north of Austin, but very close to downtown. There were restaurants close and it was easy to get further away.
The most surprising thing was how quiet it was. The neighborhood was so quiet it was hard to believe I was in a city.
The house was clean and nice with everything I needed for a pleasant stay.
The property is in a quiet neighbourhood close to the northern end of the UT campus, ideal for visiting parents. The staircase to the main bedroom is narrow and a little steep, so not too suitable for very young or old, but otherwise fine. Definitely would recommend visiting Quack's bakery a short walk away. Parking outside the property is fine. As visitors from outside the US we had lots of problems with parking apps in Austin not working with our non-US phones (both android and apple). But the property is close enough for taxis/ubers/weymos to be affordable.
Very nice place to stay. The owner was very nice and was responsive, the place was clean and met all of our needs. Not far from campus and a short drive to downtown. Lots of food options nearby.
The home is situated in a beautiful neighbourhood which is close to the university and minutes from downtown. The property is clean an roomy. Pete responded promptly when there was a problem with the lock. We would definitely book with him again.

Perfect base for exploring Austin
This house was ideal for our family of four during our five-day stay in Austin. We loved the quiet, residential neighborhood and the proximity to excellent restaurants and cafes. It was easy to get to the University and downtown. Pete was helpful and very responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay there again.

Very clean. Limited supplies as far as dishes and things needed for daily living
We were in Austin for our daughters wedding. We had a 5 week stay. The house was not a comfortable house to lounge in the evening. It had bare essentials and the tub was difficult for us older folks to get in and out of. Younger people may have a better time there. I would not go back

Response from VrboOwner on 2 Apr, 2020
I am glad to hear you found the home very clean! That is something we strive to ensure. I am sorry to hear you found the house not to your liking overall though. We do have the house supplied with all necessary essentials, and if someone lets us know that they need something else during their stay we are happy to look into it and see if we can provide it. Everything needed for a comfortable stay should be there, however. There is a claw foot tub in the bathroom, but we make that clear in the listing so that anyone with mobility issues is aware before booking the listing.
As far as the home being uncomfortable in the evenings to lounge, I'm not entirely sure what that means. The living room has a plush rug and a large L-shaped couch with a coffee table and side tables that allows for quite a bit of seating for a good number of people and plenty of space to snack, set down drinks, put up your feet, etc. Again, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed.

Great location, clean, neat and comfortable. Really close to UT. We had a great stay!
This place is great- we decided to go with VRBO instead of hotel for a swim meet at the university pool. It was such a great location. Restaurants, grocery, really cool sculpture museum all within walking distance. The neighborhood is so neat- we loved walking around and checking out all the cool homes. Easy to get anywhere in Austin from this place. We were super comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. House is neat and clean. Enjoyed our stay. Love Austin!!!!

Nice clean and terrific location
My husband and I stayed here wile visiting my daughter who is a student at UT. It was a wonderful, clean and spacious apartment. The instructions for arrival and departure were very simple. The location is in an adorable neighborhood just north of campus.
While we did not use the "second bedroom", I was surprised to see it doubled as a dining room. The master bedroom is on the second level and the staircase is low and steep so be aware. It was fine for us. The living room and kitchen are huge, just wish there was a toaster oven.
All in all it was a wonderful experience, and I recommend it.

Bons moments
Merci Pete!

Refurbished Victorian-style home in residential Hyde Park
This lovely Victorian-style home is appointed with modern Swedish furnishings throughout. It is well-located in Hyde Park - close to small shops and with easy access to major roads - immaculately clean with all tile and wood flooring throughout, and very quiet (there are few sidewalks in the neighborhood). It was very comfortable for a family of essentially 4 adults, with a few points, below, to take note of for any future guests.
Being a refurbished-Victorian, it is light on electrical outlets throughout, so bring a power strip if you don't ditch the computers/cell-phones. The cooling system was barely able to keep up with the Texas summer heat. The owner prefers a no-shoes policy, which can be a little difficult on the slick floors, as one of us learned the hard way. Also, the tub is a step-up claw foot arrangement for showering, and the stairs to the large bedroom are steep. There are additionally several small steps in various locations in the home. People with mobility issues should rethink this location. Street parking is a breeze. The trees in the area are lovely and the neighbors are all friendly. The kitchen is a little light on dishes -- you basically have to wash after every meal or snack for four people. Overall we had a very nice stay and would be happy to do it again, but might plan our luggage a little differently and try to eat out more.

Wonderful place & great location
I stayed for a week in this apartment and it was great. The location is perfect--nice neighborhood and coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Very close to UT campus. The apartment had everything that I needed and was clean and cute. Also, Pete is wonderful. Stayed in touch, answered questions promptly, and helped looked for an item that I thought that I had lost! Terrific place!

Nice
Very nice neighborhood location. Quiet. Walking distance to a park and restaurants, close to the university. Convenient street parking. The place itself was clean, nicely furnished, the upstairs bedroom was quite nice and comfy, nice big kitchen with the essentials. My only complaint was that it didn't feel cozy. Also the bathroom was small and the deep tub could be difficult for some to step in and out of.

Charming neighborhood, great place to stay
We loved this neighborhood and the house we clean, comfortable, and well kept. It was a very nice stay. I would recommend it to anyone. It was just a short $10ish Lift ride to almost anywhere in the city. We walked to a sweet bakery about 4 blocks away for great lattes and yummy pastries.

Very Nice!
This is our second stay in this unit and we were just as pleased this time as the last. The unit is very clean and equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. The location is great and in a very nice neighborhood which is great for walking. The laundry is shared in a garage out back. Pete, the owner, is very prompt with replies to my questions and very helpful. We will stay again on our next visit to Austin.

Love the neighborhood!
We loved the Hyde Park neighborhood. It is full of charming homes (all with front porches!) and sidewalks for easy walks. It's convenient to the University of Texas, parks and the downtown area.
What I don't think is clear in the description is that the one bathroom is on the main floor and very small (clawfoot tub is original and it's a major step over the sides into it). The spacious queen bedroom is upstairs. To get from one to the other is a narrow steep staircase (If you're tall...duck!). The other area for sleeping is shared with the dining table off the kitchen. The outdoor area in the backyard was not appealing. Although the shade tree is nice, the yard is mainly dirt, and looks out on the alley with the garbage and recycling receptacles. There are 3 air-conditioning units that I think would be noisy in the summer if they were all running.
As others have stated, Pete its the best host! He was responsive to all our requests and questions.
The unit is spacious and well priced. Restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops close by were great!
