2 patios and 1 balconies for hanging out, grilling and relaxing. Enjoy the firepit on cool nights. You will definitely see several birds and squirrels playing in the trees.
Master bedroom has a private balcony, outfitted with comfortable queen bed, coffee maker and a tree lined views.
Second bedroom outfitted with two twin beds and dark curtains for a enjoyable nights sleep.

The unit is well organized and comfortable. Everything was easy to find. The location is perfect. We easily walked to town lake trail. There is a small creek nearby that you can hear at night if you leave the windows open at night which was such a treat! There is a small yard that faces the creek area and is securely fenced in. It was perfect for traveling with our dogs. The property manager, Sally, was quick to respond to any messages.

Nice stay near Zilker Park

We had a nice long weekend in Austin here. Property is in a quiet neighborhood with comfortable beds, and close to Zilker Park and the Butler hiking trail.

Last minute Spring Break Getaway

We enjoyed a few days in Austin. This location was centrally located and in a very nice neighborhood. Dog friendly and very accommodating.

Lovely and convenient!

We stayed over Christmas and LOVED every bit of this lovely property. It is convenient walking distance from trails and restaurants and perfect for our small family. Hearing the creek running behind the house while sitting on the back porch was good for my Austin native soul! We will be back!

Close in getaway

Great close in, easy to navigate area- access to the city, SoCo, Zilker. It’s at the end of a quiet street. Small kitchen, but enough supplies to eat in if you choose. Nice outdoor spaces and a little creek in the back yard (some mosquitoes). Hosts are great! Thank you!

Great Property

Our family of three had an excellent stay. The multiple outdoor patio/balcony areas were great for relaxing after busy days in the sun. Owner was quick to respond and check in/out were a breeze. The location is fantastic for accessing zilker park and barton springs. The neighborhood is quiet.

Location, location location

Great little duplex, and from what I saw was the nicest areas of Austin. Very nice little private patio looking out to the creek. Enjoyed having coffee there in the morning. Very nicely taken care of home and great communication from the host.

Made for a great Holiday season

Really enjoyed our time at Zilker Retreat, great weather enabled us to fully explore Zilker Park and downtown Austin. Whether walking or biking, our location was central to a lot of activites. Close to everything fun in South Austin

This is a cozy home with two outdoor porches to enjoy the cool weather. Lots of birds singing by the creek next to you. Very private with no shared walls with the other unit. Has everything you need to be comfortable. Quick response always from the host. Loved being in the middle of all fun things in south Austin!

Location, location, location!

This beautiful Zilker Park property has it all. A short trek to the walking trails of the Park and Town Lake. We had the special opportunity to be in Austin for the annual Trail of Lights and we were within walking distance! The property is comfortably arranged and has three scenic sitting areas outside. Absolutely beautiful setting. Plus, you are only a short 5 minute drive to the heart of Austin’s entertainment area and some of the best restaurants you will find anywhere. The property is particularly well suited if you need easy access to Loop 1 which takes you to either the far reaches of either North or South Austin. The owner was readily available to answer any questions we had.

Great location and great property!

The place was great, plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The three outdoor spaces were a nice addition. Location was great very quiet, a quick walk to Barton Springs, walkable to some restaurants (under a mile) and only about 1.5 miles to down town. We walked along the river to SOCO once and from downtown, once with no problems. We used uber which was a quick 5-10 minute ride downtown. Beds were very comfortable as well as sofas in the living room., the kitchen and laundry was convenient and a plus. The small grocery store only 3-blocks away is convenient with larger stores within 2 miles. We had a good rain storm and got to watch the creek flow at full force right outside the outdoor patio. Overall great place to stay, we would definitely stay there again of we go back to Austin. Highly recommend it!

Pleasant home

Pleasant home in a great, quiet neighborhood near lots of great outdoor things to do (hiking, swimming), with easy access to the city. We appreciate the effort of the homeowners made in providing supplies that you normally do not bring with you, something more Vrbo owners should aspire to. The unit was clean and the living space was comfortable. We suggest the homeowners put in a new fan in the upstairs bathroom (it did not work and we had to deal with hot,steamy conditions). Also, we ran out of hot water on one occasion. Future renters should know that the friendliest cat we have ever met will greet you at all times of the day and night. This place, and the owners' caring touches, make the property worthwhile to rent.

Could use some attention & improvements

Property location is the best thing going for it: close to Zilker Park, babbling stream literally outside the house, quiet neighborhood. The kitchen could definitely use some more dishes and equipment. Plates & cups are in the next room and that’s inconvenient. Ice maker was frozen solid and leaking down to puddle on the floor, Roku quit working and needed several reboots, the remote control quit working altogether, and owners seemed to be less than concerned. We had no cell phone signal (ATT) and therefore no internet necessitating a phone call resulting in being told to look at the email instructions for the passwords in spite of the fact we had no internet accessibility. Outdoor furniture was dirty and we had to wipe everything down in all three outdoor spaces. Main bath had only a bar of Dial soap! This isn’t a men’s locker room. Linens were clean and in good condition, but too few kitchen linens. Only 2 kitchen towels, one of which was rolled up to contain the leaking ice maker. This house was more work and stress than it was worth. Obviously the owners view this property as a cash cow and therefore don’t really care. Won’t stay here again.

My two daughters and I just returned from ACL 2022 and couldn't be happier with our lodging for the weekend. We walked to the festival each day making the entire trip a breeze. Great location and setup!

Great Location

Great location for a weekend visit to Austin. It was very easy to get to downtown Austin. The 2nd floor balcony in the master bedroom was a nice touch as was the complimentary bottle of wine. Would definitely stay there again.

An ideal location that is close to Zilker Park, downtown, and SOCO.

This rental is close to everything that is happening close to downtown Austin. It is at the end of a quiet cul de sac and we felt safe walking to Zilker Park and the neighborhood convenience store. It is a short app $10 Uber ride to downtown. The main bed was comfortable (did not try others). Unit was clean and Sally made the rental process very smooth. We would stay here again due to the location alone. The rental is a little dated and would benefit from some updating. Outside areas could be cleaner with better furniture. We wanted to be outside due to the peaceful creek side location but outdoor areas were not very clean or inviting.

This property was designed by known architect Alan Taniguchi. His grandfather, Isamu Taniguchi designed the Japanese Garden at the Zilker Botanical Gardens.
Taniguchi specifically designed the property to bring the outdoors inside. The patio space and balconies will prove just that.
