The Parsons at Stage Fort home is the perfect place for your family’s adventures. This home is a unique opportunity to connect with Colonial New England. The home is a wonder to explore with beams and floorboards from the 1600s. Fireplaces and a baking oven that were used as the original kitchen Early immigrants from England, connections to the Salem Witch Trials, a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and even an ice harvester (like Sven from Frozen) all lived in this house.
We provide everything you need for an unforgettable family vacation: Tennis rackets, frisbee, lawn games. Beach supplies: towels, caddy, chairs, umbrella and toys. Plenty of board games to occupy all ages. Extensive library – feel free to take and keep any book.
Parsons at Stage Fort provides many configurations for sleeping arrangements. The primary bedroom has a large king bed. The spacious 2 bed bedroom has a queen bed and full bed. The third bedroom has a twin bed. An optional fourth bedroom is the library, with closing doors and two full sofa beds. Pack-n-play crib, blow up mattress and cot are available upon request.
While you may find all the adventure you need at Stage Fort Park, there are many other amazing activities just a short drive away. Schooner sailing and whale watch boat trips, boogie boarding at Good Harbor beach or exploring tide pools at the calmer Wingaersheek beach. Bikes, paddle boards, surfboards and kayaks are all available at local rental locations. Gloucester Stage company has live plays or the beautiful Shaolin music center has concerts. Gloucester's downtown has plenty of one of a kind shops and a grand variety of restaurants, cafes and dessert locations.
Rainy day - no problem! You can visit the Hammond Castle – just a short drive to see this fascinating building and artifacts. Or visit the Cape Ann Museum with artifacts from the Revolutionary War, beautiful paintings and sculptures new and old. Go antique shopping in Essex or go to the movies at our local theater. The bottom line is that there is just SO much to see and do here on “the island.”, you may never want to leave.
We are always excited to share our recommendations for your vacation. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

A perfect place to stay and explore Gloucester and Cape Ann, this historic house has been beautifully updated with everything you might need. Plenty of outdoor spaces to spend time, and a short walk to a seaside park and beach. The Host has created a very welcoming place to stay, and is also helpful with any details you might need. Highly recommend the place!

Thank you Deborah-So happy you enjoyed your stay!!
My family used this home as a jumping point to explore all over new engalnd. Greatly enjoyed the history of the property and the surrounding area. It was a great trip all around.
Charming old house with a wonderful location and easy access to everything in Gloucester. We are grateful for all the amenities our host Kelly provided which made our stay easier and more enjoyable. Loved the espresso maker. My 3-year-old granddaughter spent every morning playing and posing for pictures in the lovely garden area. Thanks for the memories.

Happy you had such a wonderful time with your grandchildren in Gloucester.
Kelly was so easy and accommodating. We were visiting with a 6yo and a. 1yo and having the pack and play there made traveling a million times easier.
Location is perfect and a quick walk (even with kids!) to the park, which has a fantastic playground!
Downtown is about a mile away and an easy drive or longer walk!
Beds are cozy and clean, house is easy to navigate and outdoor area looked fantastic (didn’t get a chance to use it!)

Thank you Michae. So glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of the park. Come back and use the outdoor area!
Short walk to playground, historic park and child friendly beach. Perfect for our 6 year old twins and 5 year old sister. Modern kitchen. Have to be ok with climbing stairs to bedrooms, but no problem for us. Fenced back garden and loads of beach gear, games and books.
My wife, daughters and grandson all had a great time in Gloucester. The place had a feeling that you were staying in an historic fishermen’s home while enjoying all the modern conveniences such as great kitchen, outdoor barbecue, whirl pool bath. The place is right across from a large park with a playground. We told our host we had an infant with us and they bought a new crib. I wouldn’t look any further. This is the place.

Thank you so much David. We are so happy you enjoyed the home and surrounding areas. Kelly
We spent four days visiting with our two sons and granddaughters 2&5. Location was great with easy walk to Stage Park and Crescent Beach. Unfortunately the only beach weather day was a holiday - being able to walk to the beach and avoid the hassle of Gloucester beach parking was a big plus. Also great playground at the park. House is pre revolutionary war but has all the modern amenities including jet tub, outdoor shower and remodeled kitchen. The door frames are low so if you’re over 6’ beware - People apparently were shorter in the 1700’s. Johnathen and Kelly were available and helpful. We hope to visit again.

Thank you Jay…So happy you had a good visit with your family. Please come visit again!
We loved our time at this beautiful, historic home. There were so many thoughtful details that made Parsons at Stage Fort extra welcoming, from the cozy sheets and bedding to the invitation to select a book from the well-stocked library to take home with us. The house is perfectly located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Gloucester, but close enough where we could walk to key sights and attractions. I personally loved taking my morning coffee out on the covered porch. And the one day it rained was the perfect excuse to treat myself to a mini spa day in the jacuzzi. All in all, a lovely home and an even lovelier host family.
If you l love interesting and historical homes, this is a great place for you. We stayed a week with friends and family. The house was extremely clean and tidy with lots of unique details from the original house, like fireplaces and two old staircases, with nice modern updates in the kitchen and bathrooms. The outdoor areas and landscaping around the house was well designed and stunning; amazing outdoor kitchen. Easy walks to get to Ravenswood Park trails and park and beaches across the street (good place to watch the sunrise). Games, outdoor equipment, and beach towels were available. We spent most of our days exploring Cape Ann but this was such a nice place to return to in the evenings.
This property, location and host all deserve high remarks. The house has a warm feel to it: it is a home — not just a rental property. The kitchen is modern and spacious for cooking and baking. We brought some of our own cookware, baking sheets, etc, since we did a lot of cooking and baking and we put the the kitchen and the outside grill and stow to good use! Loved them both. All around a great experience both in and around this lovely home — including enjoying the beautiful yard and views from upstairs bedrooms, and the short walk to the ocean-side park ( with a recently updated playground! ). I looked hard for a property with the “right feeling” and will for sure keep this in my saved list for future travel.
The owner-host is super responsive and personable — this is so important and very different from locations managed by property management companies that make vacations feel like transactions. Thank you!
