We thought it was awesome, though “quirky” as one of my cousins expressed. Some things were updated, some not, but great space for all 19 of us to gather in the spacious living room for games and visiting ( only 9 stayed in the house— the rest at a campground) for our reunion. When we had an issue with the water the owners resolved it immediately. Thank you for everything ‼

Great family accommodations in Sagle!

My two sisters and I and our families just completed a week in this great property as part of a larger family reunion. The owners were very responsive to all questions and concerns and they are very close if anything is needed. We put all of the kids in the basement bedroom, which has lots of bunks and stays very cool, and that worked out pretty well. It was nice that they had their own hangout space down there, too. Decor of the house was great and there is lots of seating in the living room for everyone, which is not always the case in properties targeted at big groups. The upstairs beds and bedrooms were great for our needs, but we found that the extra single bed in one of the rooms, which we were planning to use, turned out to be a cot. It all worked out, and we all enjoyed seeing the animals every day and exploring the property.Super close to Sandpoint and the lake, and a great time was had by all!

We did an extended family trip with 9 of us for a week! The house had everything we needed and more, lots of games to play, plenty of towels and dishes. The resident peacock greeted us every morning as we enjoyed the back patio. There is lots of friendly cats and animals on the property just to be aware if you have any allergies. The couple was located next door with any questions or concerns if needed, they were friendly and accommodating. My only concern was ease of access! Driveway was steep/tight but common in the area, as well as the access at the end of the road onto or from the highway was difficult sometimes just due to traffic. Nothing that can be done but just for a heads up! Great house for large groups! We had a fantastic stay.

Fun girls’ trip!

9 friends stayed here for a quick friends’ getaway- it was the perfect spot for us! We enjoyed shopping and dining in Sandpoint, and then being at this home to unwind and fellowship together. The hottub was huge and fit us all! The house encouraged downtime and fun- cozy spots to sit and visit, closet stocked with games, ping pong table and foosball- so fun! Well stocked, nicely decorated home. Friendly and quick responses from the owners- Loved it!

Welcome to Opal Pine Acres, our little slice of North Idaho that we’re so happy to share with you.

What started as our family’s dream of living close to nature has grown into a place where guests can slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories. Surrounded by the beauty of Lake Pend Oreille and tucked near Schweitzer Mountain, our home is not just about comfort, it’s about experience. From cozy nights by the fire to mornings spent watching eagles soar overhead, every season brings something magical.

Life here is never boring here, we share our property with alpacas, peacocks, chickens, and a few friendly cats who love to greet new faces. Whether it’s kids laughing as they meet the animals or guests soaking in the hot tub after a day of adventure, it’s always our joy to see people enjoy this place as much as we do.

We live on the property, so we’re here if you need anything, but we also give our guests the space to relax and feel at home. Our hope is that when you leave, you’ll take with you more than just a vacation, you’ll take a piece of North Idaho’s charm and a few unforgettable memories from your stay at Opal Pine Acres.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this neighborhood because it offers the best of both worlds, peaceful country living with easy access to all the fun that Sandpoint and North Idaho have to offer. From our place, you can look out across open skies, pine trees, and mountains, and still be just a short drive to downtown Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille, and Schweitzer Ski Resort.

What we enjoy most is the rhythm of life here quiet mornings with the sound of birds, evenings where you can see the stars so clearly, and the small-town charm that makes every trip into town feel special. We love that our neighborhood feels tucked away, yet guests can easily reach hiking trails, ski slopes, or the lake within minutes. It’s a place where you can truly unplug, relax, and feel connected to nature and community at the same time.

What makes this property unique

Opal Pine Acres is more than a stay, it’s an experience. Our guests love relaxing in the hot tub under the stars, enjoying mountain views, and spending time with our alpacas, peacocks, chickens, and friendly cats. With a game room, cozy bunk spaces, and peaceful country charm just minutes from Sandpoint and Schweitzer, it’s the perfect mix of fun, comfort, and North Idaho beauty.
