Relax and unwind on the river! Whether alone, a couple, group or family everyone will enjoy this beautiful home. Relax by the river, fire pit or fireplace (bring your own firewood) and enjoy! This home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, living room and some nooks and crannies to relax.
House has Wi-fi, Dish tv, charcoal and gas grill (bring your own charcoal or propane), games, books and indoor/outdoor stereo system.
2 public ramps within 5 miles to launch your watercraft or just fish off of the dock.
Non-smoking inside and no pets.
We have done our best to offer you and your guests a comfortable stay. Each room has plenty of storage. There are dressers and closets for your belongings. The kitchen should have all your cooking needs.
The house is all yours! The garage and the shed are for the private use of the owners.
There are many outdoor games (Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, Yard Yahtzee, Yard Jenga and Yard Connect Four). There is a hose and sprinkler for the littles and sidewalk chalk and bubbles too!
So there's no surprises; we have Hughes net for internet. Due to the limited options of our rural location, this may result in spotty internet that is also impacted by the weather.
Downtown Momence has several restaurants, bars and churches. We search for any local events and will leave that information on the welcome table should anything be going on.
We live 5 miles from the house so should any issues arise, we can be there promptly.
Feel free to bring your own boat, kayak, tubes or canoe! The house has a private dock which is also great for fishing so don't forget the poles!

Me and some friends stayed here to have a central location to play some of the local golf courses over the weekend. Great home with all that was needed for meals, hanging out, and sleeping comfortably. Host was very friendly and responsive.

Property was well maintained and beautiful! Host was very informative and prompt. They truely went above and beyond. Tons of activities in home and on premises for all ages groups and personalities. Not idealistic if you need to do remote work but definitely a must for an unplugged experience!

Check in and check out process super easy. Cathy was once nice and responsive to any questions we had. We loved the house. Decor is adorable. It’s remote as mentioned in the listing. Little to no cell phone service. WiFi was ok. We didn’t mind at all. It was enough for us to communicate with our families at home if needed. Backyard is so cute. Lots to do. 3 of us attached a float to the dock and enjoyed some sun. It’s a fast flowing river keep that in mind if you choose to do the same. It’s a wooded area make sure you bring bug spray. We look forward to coming back again in the future. Highly recommend.

Laid back location with great personal touches!

Our group of 6 had a weekend away and truly enjoyed the house!! Great hangout spaces in the kitchen, living room, and outside. The whole house was very clean with a casual and relaxed feel. Many of us have been doing vacation rentals for 10+ years and all were very impressed with the thoughtful treats and items that were left for us! A coffee station with little sugars and creamers, a snack station with smores goodies, cookies and popcorn, water bottles in the fridge, and a selection of books with the offer to take what you didn't finish reading--all wonderful surprises that we found! We also loved how well stocked everything was! Plenty of all the necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, cups, plates, garbage bags, etc. Close neighbors on both sides but we didn't see anyone else around for our weekend stay, which was nice. A few helpful tips--the house does have well water so we were glad we brought lots of bottled water and bags of ice. You might want to bring some extra towels for the river or to have larger bathroom towels. As stated in the listing, it is a rural area (near wetlands!) and we saw lots of critters, so don't be surprised to see little animals on your way to the house and out and about the property. We found the bullfrog and cricket sounds at night particularly cool (like a real life sound machine lol)!

Why they chose this property

There is nothing better than waking up on the peaceful river and watching the ducks and geese floating along. The home is located on a dead end road and is peaceful. A great place to unwind and relax!

What makes this property unique

We have done our best to make this home comfortable and have provided numerous family/friends activities to enjoy! There are plenty of indoor games and books (for children as well) and even more to enjoy outside.
We always ask our guests for their ideas and do our best to incorporate them.
