Family stay in London
My family and I stayed in London at the end of March 2024 for 4 nights. The apartment is located in a residential neighborhood on a 3rd floor. The area has a lot of shops and restaurants but it is not family friendly. There are no parks or green areas for kids and sound isolation in the apartment building isn’t good as we had neighbors downstairs complaining of nose when our kids were laughing at 7:30 in the evening. It was “getting a bit too late” for them.
Knowing what I know of the place now, I would have rather paid a bit more to stay at a more central location. The walk to a nearby metro station is 5 min and it is about 30-40 min long of a ride to the main attractions.
While the apartment is rather small, size wise we made it work. What we truly didn’t care for though were showers (shower heads are prehistoric and don’t work well and the water isn’t soft at all), beds are small, old, with uncomfortable mattresses (worst in my experience), pillows are hard, the windows have no light curtains so you have the choice between natural light or privacy. Overall, the place is rather rundown. There are no essentials left for the guests: no shampoo, laundry detergent, garbage bags, paper towels, coffee or tea. We had to buy a package of laundry detergent and only used one pack. I have never seen anything like this. When I wrote to the property manager about missing all these items, my concerns were ignored.
