About this property
Stunning Vermont Farmhouse in Stowe Town Center
Enjoy Vermont in style in one of Stowe's premier village properties. This modernized farmhouse is professionally designed, fully updated, and ready to host your group. Situated just off Stowe's famous Main Street, you'll be able to stroll to farm-to-table restaurants, local chocolatiers, and many other wonderful stores nearby. The ski resort and bike trails are just a few minutes down the road. Stylishly updated, you'll enjoy the farmhouse design while you recharge between your adventures.
This renovated farmhouse is a wonderful way to experience the magic of Stowe. For the family that is looking for an upscale, in-town experience, this house is situated directly on Stowe's Main Street. A tall cedar hedge provides privacy, and a fully enclosed courtyard in the backyard gives you a great spot to grill and enjoy the outside. When it's time to head out, leave the car, and walk down the sidewalk to any of Stowe's wonderful restaurants and shops. In the winter, it's a quick 10 minute drive to Stowe Mountain Resort.
Inside, the house has been stylishly updated. A recent addition doubled the size of the property, adding upscale space while maintaining the Vermont farmhouse soul. The original house dates back to 1850, and the oil-rubbed wide pine floors display this classic Vermont heritage. In the kitchen, a 36" Wolf gas range will keep the chef happy. A two-seat bar area allows for an informal breakfast, or you can use the adjacent dining room with seating for 8. Beyond the bar area is a wonderfully designed living room to relax in over morning coffee. On the other side of the kitchen is a second living room with a floor-to-ceiling built in bookcase and a smart TV.
As you head upstairs, there are three bedrooms above the original farmhouse. One has a king bed, and the other two have queens. There is another room that is decorated as a kid's playroom with toys and a teepee for the little ones! In this section of the house, there is a full bathroom with a shower and tub. It is accessible from the main hallway, as well as the king bedroom via a lockable door.
As you head down the hall toward the master bedroom, you'll pass the washer and dryer in a closeted enclosure. Reclaimed wide pine boards run the length of the hall, while overhead skylights enhance the lighting. As you reach the master suite, a soaring cathedral ceiling with a windowed cupola bring in more natural light. A king bed sits along the north wall, under a classic diamond-shaped Vermont barn window. A separate seating area lies nearby, with a leather couch, shag rug, smart TV, and propane fireplace for ambiance and warmth. A sliding door leads to a second-floor deck with two chairs, perfect for a morning cup of coffee in the summer. Off the master is a private office, separated by a reclaimed swinging door, as well as a master bathroom with a tub and steam shower. This bathroom can also be treated as a "Jack and Jill", with access from both the master bedroom and the kid's playroom.
This wonderful house has fast wifi throughout, and a combination of window and portable air conditioners to keep it cool during the summer months. Come enjoy all Stowe has to offer!
