The host was very responsive, helpful. The place is great, a very warm, cozy cabin type setting, with many very thoughtful amenities, clean, very well kept, and very convenient to surrounding attractions, places. The ability to use owner-provided bikes on a very close by, rails-to-trails 57 mile trail was a great thing. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet, mountain getaway, close to attractions, but isolated to be as quiet as you could want as well. I would definitely return.

The New River Hideaway was the perfect place to stay for my husband and me. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals over the past several years, and this was the best we have stayed in when just the two of us are traveling. It is very new, extremely well designed with many thoughtful touches, and was charmingly decorated. The furniture, including the bed, was very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and very well furnished to meet all of our needs. It is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Communication with the host was outstanding.

This was a very clean and charming home in a quiet neighborhood, with close vicinity to many restaurants and the New River Trail. The hosts Brian and Heather were very hospitable and communicative. This is a great place to stay if you want to take in the New River Trail, Grayson Highlands State Park, or the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would definitely stay here again.

The property was exactly as advertised, and was immaculate. If you are bringing your own bikes, it is especially nice because the host offers asecure place to house your bikes. Very convenient to the rail trail and downtown. We would use it again, maybe for riding in the fall!

Loved it!

I enjoyed my stay at the New River Hideaway. It has a cozy cabin feel inside and is decorated very nice. It was very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a relaxing get away.

Galax Getaway

The New River Hideaway was a cozy, comfortable base for exploring the New River Trail and the town of Galax. We walked to the downtown area, and were not far from a public access to the trail. The Hideaway had all of the comforts we expected, with a great bed, solid internet, and comfortable furnishings.I would stay there again in a return trip!

Our first stay!

Me and my partner stayed here the weekend of Veterans day. The place is simply breath taking the interior gives log cabin vibes while still a being a suite. Heated and cooled with 2 wall units. So you can have comfortable lounge area in the front room and a nice coold bedroom to get some great sleep. I look forward to staying again.

If you’re in Galax, VA, this is the place to stay for walkable access to local hiking and downtown. I stopped into town to visit a parent in the local nursing home and it was an easy walk. The place was clean, fresh, and thoughtful with modern finishes like outlets near the bed to charge with ease. Only issue I faced was low water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, I enjoyed a cup of coffee on the front deck in the morning overlooking the hills, slept comfortably, and appreciated the snacks. I’ll be back if I’m welcomed back.

Yeah the house was very clean. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was a Keurig type coffee maker and some pods. The move out instructions were simply. The place was very easy to find and convenient for the activities we were doing in and around town. The owner was helpful and there was also a place to store bikes.

Excellent! Great access to the New River Bike Rail Trail

This property has a place to securely store bicycles which a great plus. The only reason I gave 4 stars for Communication is that using the VRBO app to communicate with the hosts was not particularly helpful. Thankfully, the hosts provided their own cell number and that they answered promptly. We will likely return.
