Magical Property on the Ocean

This remote property is truly magical! We stayed five nights here and thoroughly enjoyed this incredible property!!! Beautifully situated on a bluff above the ocean, we loved watching the ocean while sitting in front of the fireplace. We were visited daily by the herd of elk. We also saw deer and loved feeding the Blue Jays. Beach access was a nicely maintained road and the property was fun to explore. The owner was so helpful and responded quickly! We will definitely be back!!

We experienced a quiet getaway in a visually stunning and comfortable house with local/regional attractions. We drove south to walk amongst the old growth Sequoia forests, enjoyed Arizona beach (3 minutes from the rental and adjacent to the dinosaur walking tour) and Ophir beach (10 minutes).The 15 minute drive to either Gold Beach or Port Orford gave easy access to groceries, restaurants (Harvest Gold is great) and local attractions (Cape Blanco light house).The ocean and costal views from the home deserved a day of hanging out at "home". The kitchen has everything you need for prepping and cooking. The shared bathroom was large enough to accommodate everyone's toothbrushes and towels.

This cabin had a beautiful view of the Pacific. It was located between Gold Beach and Port Orford. There was a nice walking path to the beach. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious.

My husband and I and our 2 golden doodles had the best time. Spending time way from the hustle and bustle was so refreshing. We had the best of all weather, stormy windy day and warm sunshine to follow. The beach was lovely. The view was simply magical! The home was cozy and perfect. We Enjoyed wood fires in the evening. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our home made meals. We would love to return in the future.

Second Visit and Not the Last

The second visit was better than the first. This is such a hidden gem. Relax, relax, relax. Quiet days. Walks on the beach. Watch the Pacific. What more could you possibly need for a get-away vacation. If you are looking for "the spot", this is it. This won't be our last visit to this amazing property.

Amazing views, beautiful home

This is a truly special place on a remote piece of land in Southern Oregon. Beautiful property, great wildflowers. We saw Elk when we went for a walk. The view from the house is spectacular and the beds are very comfortable. Hilary was quite helpful in answering all of our questions. Cons: Walk to beach is very overgrown and was not passable for us. No Wifi. No laundry.

Spacious, private and quiet

Architecturally interesting house, inside and out. Our only issue was the lack of comfy & cushy sofas, sectionals or chairs in the great room. Amazing view, and a herd of elk hung out around the house all week. Don't forget to feed the birds on the railing each morning. A lot of VRBO's on the coast of Oregon are just plain cold inside in March. Not this one, the heat-pump system kept the house nice a warm.

Gold Beach Hideaway

We loved the serene location. It was just what we needed. We couldn't find a trail down to the beach from the property. We tried once and ended up in two feet of mud, missing a shoe. :-) Instead, we drove 5 miles to the nearest public beach. The house is warm and inviting and we felt comfortable our whole stay. Loved the windows looking out over the ocean. Driving a SUV or truck to comfortably get in and out of the property is recommended. We would book it again!

Family Oasis

The property was wonderful for my wife, our new-born daughter, and dog. While we got the opportunity to experience all weather (rain,hail,sunshine) we took full advantage of the outdoors. It was lovely, we hiked 5min down the road to the beach, we noticed tracks and animal droppings but sadly saw no wildlife except some birds. We didn’t get to enjoy the fireplaces as all the wood was damp, I would recommend bringing fresh wood! Luckily, central heating worked fine. The beds were comfortable and the overall ambiance of the home was spot-on. The One and only flaw it had was that the back door did not lock at all, no matter the configuration and if you are like me safety is #1 no matter where or how far you may be from civilization. Other than that, what a gem! Hope to be back some day!

Private and fantastic views

As the listing shows you get a great panoramic view of the ocean. The place was very private and quiet. The only other person around was someone working on their lot, about 700' down the road at the cul-de-sac where you get the path down to the beach. This path is on a neighboring parcel, but was well maintained. At some points the path was challenging for 70 year olds but was well worth it. The beach was about 1/3 mile and very isolated. We loved the place and will definitely be back. There are a few things worth noting. There was no shampoo or soap, other than hand soap. We know it was not in the listing but most listings do not mention these but all have had them. This was a first for us and we do about 6 different properties a year. Also most dog friendly properties provide waste bags. Luckily we always bring all of these items when we travel. It was also funny that there was no sign-in book. We always like to read the comments and see where people are from that have visited.

Serene and Peaceful

A very private seven acre property with a gorgeous ocean view. The only sound is the surf and Steller's Jays who visited daily. The minute we entered the charming house, it felt like we were home. The design of the home takes full advantage of the beauty of the setting. The area has many beautiful ocean beaches, rivers and lakes, with all the attendant activities. We drove down to Prairie Creek Redwood Park in Northern California for a day trip.....an old haunt for us. While we enjoyed the whole area, we loved the serenity of home and the setting, We'll be back.

Amazing view

If you’re looking for a very private stay with a million dollar view, this is your house. We had sunny days and wet windy days and both were perfect for different reasons. We cooked most our meals at the house, simply because we wouldn’t have found a restaurant with a better table. The kitchen had what we needed. We brought our own spices so that wasn’t a problem. We had a fire in the fireplace each evening. The bed was comfortable enough for it not being our own. There is no trail to the beach from the house. They said “minimally maintained”. I would say, don’t even try. The trail down the road, a few minutes walk, is much easier to navigate. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location

If you are looking for total seclusion, this is the right place. The house is situated at the end of a very long driveway that looks like something out of a Jeep commercial and the house itself is surrounded by dense forest. There is *nobody,* not a single neighbor, near the house. It's also true that getting to the beach is a hike, but it's a private hike, like your own personal trail. I've never actually been anywhere this remote, and I'll be honest: it was terrific. Plus, the fireplace was great, the kitchen was great, and the beds were great. I'd say I want to go back but I have a funny habit of finding VRBO houses that suddenly get so popular their prices double and we can no longer afford them! This place is so special and rare, I can't imagine the prices will stay reasonable for long.
