We loved the property. It was calm, clean and had all the details we needed as a family. It was a property that was thoughtfully created. We will definitely be back to stay here again!
The cottage was perfect for our family of four and West Island a hidden gem! All the amenities needed for our week long stay were provided and the island itself is quaint and has a convenient restaurant and ice cream shop. We will definitely be back!!
We love this house,.my husband owned this place from 1981 to 1985. The renovation is awesome. The screen door needs repair and I wish there was a walk in shower. But it is a great quiet place to stay. We will more than likely stay again.

About the host

I spent many childhood summers with my family at my grandmother’s modest cottage in nearby Marion. I’m thrilled to be back on the South Coast, and to offer this lovely cottage for other families to make special memories of their own.
Why they chose this property
This cottage sits in the middle of West Island, close to beaches and the nature preserve, which makes up two-thirds of the island. The vibe on West Island is friendly and laid-back yet we’re close to great shopping, restaurants and more right up the road in Fairhaven and New Bedford.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the cottage’s charming mid- century modern vibe, clerestory windows, and gorgeous woodwork — including the beamed and vaulted ceilings.
