About this property

2nd Row, Private Pool and Jacuzzi!


"Family Huddle" is a GORGEOUS Beach House featuring 4 Bedrooms and 2.5 Baths. There is a beautiful in-ground, gated, salt-water private pool and incredibly relaxing multi-jet 4 person, hot tub (both at ground level). These are available exclusively for our house guests. Right across the street is the public beach access! Once across the street, you'll have a choice of either relaxing at the beach or strolling along the pathway adjacent to Coquina Rocks for a morning, afternoon or evening walk (located to the right).

The house is located in Historic Fort Fisher which is part of Kure Beach. You'll find an expansive deck out back and a big porch in the front where you can enjoy some good conversations, food and fun or just kick back and watch the sun set. Fort Fisher is on the South end of Pleasure Island and just to the north of you on the Island is Kure Beach and Carolina Beach.

Pleasure Island has so many fun things to do: The NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher Civil War museum, Fort Fisher-Southport Ferry, State Parks, 2 boardwalks, 2 fishing piers, Britt's Donuts (an institution since 1939), many restaurants serving all of your favorite seafood, live bands, carnival rides, fireworks every Thursday night at 9pm in the summer, deep sea fishing boats, 4-wheel drive beach access on both the North and South end of the Island. JUST A SHORT WALK from your house are walking paths along the Old Fort beside the incredible beauty of the Cape Fear River. DON'T MISS THE SUNSETS on the River... There are NO words to describe it! AND THERE'S SO MUCH MORE!

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need (except for your food). A stove, microwave and toaster are there to cook up some fantastic meals should you choose to eat in! There is an updated coffee bar area with yummy coffee additions to bring some extra joy to your morning.

Parking is a breeze with plenty of space for up to six cars (on both the driveway and stoned area to the left in the front yard). Free parking for so many cars is a rarity! There is also plenty of room should you need it to park your boat/ trailer (which is separate from the area to park cars). You can back your boat- right off the road for easy access in and out! This is very RARE for beach properties!

Pool use will be available from April 1st till September 30th.

There is a separate owner's space on the basement floor. Occasionally, the owners/property manager will be there to help maintain the grounds, pool and help clean between rental weeks. Not to worry - there is a separate private entrance to this space on opposite side of the guest entrance, pool, decks and jacuzzi. When there, we hope to help make your stay even more exceptional by serving any needs you may have. Otherwise, we will work to stay out of your way and allow you to enjoy your vacation to it's fullest!

Wonderful Family Vacation Rental

This home is very spacious, plenty of room to spread out for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything we could need and more. Plenty of clean towels for showering when we arrived. Very thoughtful basket of goodies on the counter. Sherri and Hal were very kind to our kids and very responsive. The pool was an amazing thing to have when we were done at the beach or after a long day of sight seeing. I would highly recommend this rental if you are looking for a quiet family vacation away from crowds.

Beautiful house and location.

My family and I enjoyed the house, pool, hot tub and it was very nice to have met Hal and Sherrie the owner’s if the house during our stay. The supplied a lot of beach stuff, floats, chairs, wagons as well as a fully stocked house except for food!! Rip currents were awful in the ocean as well as rocks. So we had little Beach time. Other then that we were happy with our stay!!

Homeaway Kure Beach

Wonderful property for our family of 10. The easy access to the beach was great and having the pool was great for kids and adults. Being close to the NC Aquarium was good and the kids enjoyed it very much. The nice thing about Kure Beach is that the area is as populated as Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. The house had everything we needed. Owners were responsive to any needs we had. The gift container was so thoughtful. It was great having the washer and dryer. Everything worked and there was plenty of kitchenware. It was a great week.

Great location and ❤️ the pool!!

Our family all met up for a week together. We had 6 kids 8 and under. The house and the pool were perfect for all of us. We could get to the beach easily across the road. When we returned from a morning on the beach we could easily clean the sand off the kids in the outdoor shower (or use the hose) and they could swim their hearts out. This pool was fantastic for little swimmers. 3.5ft-5ft depth with shelf seats on both ends was perfect. My son learned to swim without his life vest for the first time. Such a great experience. Sherri and Hal are the best too!

Porch, Pool, and a walker’s dream!

We had a wonderful trip and felt very at-home in this beautiful and excellently maintained property. The house was SO clean, the owners thought of everything, the kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed for our families and children for the week. The pool was perfection for our little family to enjoy privately! We also loved the front porch. Hal and Sherrie were incredibly responsive and kind, and on top of anything we might need. Their attention to detail helped make our family trip wonderful! There are also many great places to visit, within walking distance! We truly enjoyed the quiet surroundings, easy beach access, and being within walking distance to so many great walks. We will be back!!

Quiet & Relaxing

This property was everything we wanted. Pool was a major hit for the kids especially after the beach or the days we went exploring. This location was quiet, relaxing and still had things to do. As far as eating out, not a lot of options but could drive to next beach or outside the island area. Overall we were very happy with our stay and made amazing memories.

Amazing week at Family Huddle

We loved this beach house so much! It was the perfect home base for our group, two families with young kids. The beach was SO close, it was easy to walk across the street to the boardwalk, even with the kiddos. They could have played on the beach all day, searching the rocks for hermit crabs and playing in the surf. The coquina rocks were so cool and different from any other beach we have been to before (but there is also beautiful smooth sand right next to the rocks so you really have the best of both worlds at this location). The house was also really well stocked for a vacation rental - we had no problem finding what we needed to cook and make ourselves at home, and we appreciated all the little extra amenities the owners provided. And finally the pool was perfection! It was so nice to get out of the heat in the private pool in the afternoon. Everything was awesome, we’d be happy to come back here!

Perfect beach house

The house was very clean and comfortable and exactly as advertised, maybe even better! Cannot think of one negative. Everything was perfect. The owners left a basket of goodies and supplies to use in the kitchen which was very helpful. We have never rented a house with a better air conditioner, especially at the beach. We look forward to a return visit!!

Perfect rental for a covid year vacation.

The house was so family friendly. When we walked in, the house smelled so clean-not perfumed, clean- that we felt perfectly safe staying there. The keyless lock was perfect for a group-no keys to keep track of. The landscaping was particularly lovely. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and well used. I stayed in the pool so much I had to force myself to walk across the street to walk in the surf the night before we left. It is a lovely property and the owners were helpful and gracious. Our family group would love to return for another vacation.

Hal & Sherrie were very accommodating. The house was well supplied. Cart for carrying chairs, toys, rafts, umbrellas to the beach. The pool and hot tub were perfect for our family of children to adults. The beach is very close. The house was very clean and very comfortable seating. We all had a great time.

Perfect Family Getaway!

This house is set up well for families-- lots of bedrooms, a private pool, a shady swing in the backyard, plenty of beach equipment to borrow, and a short walk to the beach. Hal & Sherrie have really thought through everything you'd want for a beach week, and this is a fantastic, private place to spend some time with family away from the crowds. Any questions we had were answered within minutes, and the property is kept up beautifully. Even this location at the end of the island is quiet, clean, and geared towards family vacations.

Great vacation property!

We had a wonderful time in Kure Beach! The house was perfect and very clean! Super short walk to the beach, which was nice. And lots of beach items to use (chairs, umbrella, wagon, toys, etc) so we didn’t have to bring our own. Hal and Sherrie have all the details nailed down and make you as comfortable as possible!!

Great Kure Beach stay

Hi! I’m Val! I’m a PT who is originally from PA with a passion for all things coastal and my hubby Dave, an engineer (the ‘fixer’), is native to NC. We met in Hilton Head, SC (on the beach ❤️). We now live in Charlotte, NC, but have a love of the saltwater, sandy toes, panoramic ocean views and sunsets. We knew we’d one day return to the beach. We enjoy hosting family and friends so much at our home in Charlotte that we decided to extend this passion formally at Kure Beach! We have family and friends in Kure and absolutely LOVE the area, so it was an easy choice. We are new hosts (as of May 2024) and diligently working to make some updates for the summer season. Pics are continuously updated to reflect changes. We are very excited to share our space with you! Our goal is to make sure you create sweet memories and have an EXCEPTIONAL experience!

We have family just down the road and have been coming here for 20+ years with our children. We truly love the area! Kure, Carolina Beach, Ft. Fisher, Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington have so much to offer with breathtaking views of gorgeous coastal scenery! It is the perfect location for creating sweet memories with family and friends!

What makes this property unique

We have a beautiful saltwater pool, jacuzzi and large decks (front, back, side of house).
The kitchen is open! The windows provide gorgeous natural light that permeates throughout the kitchen, dining room and living room areas. We fell in love with the house the minute we arrived on the property! It has everything we were looking for in a beach house!
