Guests will enjoy the rich history of whaling, dairy operations, abalone fishing, and canning which were among many thriving business that A.M. Allan operated on this historic property dating back to 1898. This 2 bedroom, one-level home is perfectly situated to maximize the views of Point Lobos and is just a few steps to Monastery Beach — famous for diving and pounding ocean swells. Take pleasure in the sweeping panoramic ocean views of Point Lobos and a white sand beach as your backyard. Scuba divers come from far and wide to enjoy the kelp forests, otters, seals, whales and other wildlife found in the waters off Monastery Beach. Hardwood floors, fireplace and large glass panels blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. 3 cottages on property. Two 2 bedroom one 3 bedroom.

No Weddings, Events, or Parties of any kind are allowed.

2 Dogs max for a fee of $195.

Stunning location & property!!

We enjoyed the property during our week's stay - the views are incredible!! Enjoyed the adjacent trail along the shoreline. We like to make our own meals, so just wish the kitchen's range was more user-friendly.

Very over priced for the cottage. To many notes on the walls of what not to do. This could have been put in a House Rule letter on the table. Outside front and back could use an on property maintenance person. Walkway leading to the door on arrival littered with tree debris. Back patio same.

A Perfect Stay in California

This was the perfect get away from a Mn arctic blast in January. Sarah was responsive and helpful with every question we had and Mark was gracious in orienting us to the property and cottage upon our arrival. The cottage was small, comfortable and cozy which was perfect for our needs and the view was beautiful. The location was nice with easy access to Point Lobos and other trails. We truly enjoyed our stay at this property and would love to visit again.

Breathtaking Views!

Our family had such a wonderful time staying at the Abalone Cottage! The hosts were very communicative and the house was spotless upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking trail nearby. I have stayed with friends at bothWhaler’s Cottage and Abalone Cottage several times. Each and every time has been a delight. The cottages are sublime and the location is unbelievably gorgeous. The hosts are wonderful.

Comfortable and clean house. Comfortable beds and linens, very wl stocked kitchen with nice utensils. Quiet house and restful location. Nice shops nearby, loved the local stores and restraunts. Thank you for the bottle of wine it was nice to enjoy on our first nite at the house, watching the sunset. Will definitely return.

Gorgeous Quiet Beachfront Cottage Near all!

We were impressed with the coziness, relaxing atmosphere forever views of the ocean and Monastery Beach and all the amenities that you will need in a small place. Very comfortable, quiet and secure. Close to hiking trails, commercial malls like the Barnyard, gas stations and a short drive to Carmel Point, Scenic Drive, Carmel Beach and Ocean Ave shopping and fabulous restaurants. Peaceful and Comforting

It was so peaceful there. It felt very homey and the view was amazing. I think I sat there for hours watching the waves. The girls loved exploring the trails and beach looking for treasures. They even chose that over other adventures. It was agreat stay and I was sad to go.

Best Trip Ever!!

This is one of the best vacations I have ever had. The property is amazing. Perfect views of the sunset over the beach. It was relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves at night while falling asleep. The town of Carmel is so cute and quaint and the locals are so friendly. But truthfully if I never left the property in 5 days I would have been just as content. I hope to be back next year.
