The place was very clean and as advertised. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and had great water pressure. I would have liked to have had better chairs for the campfire, steps down to the river and privacy blinds on the windows in the main living areas. Overall I enjoyed the place and would consider staying there again.
Stay was good. The place was hard to find and the driveway tough to navigate. There’s a small abandoned house on the property that we were not expecting. The house itself was tidy enough, peaceful and as advertised.
Place was exactly what we wanted! Cabin in the woods, No people... just us and our dogs. Tons of room to run. The creek down below was beautiful, just wish access to it was easier. Cabin has a lot of potential but as is is perfect for the price. Had everything we needed to cook. Didnt even miss the a/c. Driveway almost needs 4 wheel drive to get down but just a heads up to future renters.

A couple of us are from the UP and are very happy with our stay but… finding the property proved to be difficult as there is not a proper and well defined address or signage and the driveway or lack there of is a big BIG problem, the cabin itself was absolutely a dream but that is all I would give a positive feedback on, the fire pit was great and it was fully stocked but the creek as described in the picture is non existent but overall it was a good stay

Our time here
The cabin was really nice, but it was infested with ants, we couldn't enjoy the deck because the mosquitoes were insane. The driveway in was horrible, if you don't have a UTV or a truck with great suspension you will bottom your vehicle out. The grass was overgrown which of course makes the mosquitoes worse and the front area of the driveway was so overgrown it's hard to see the house number. The area is beautiful, it's peaceful and calming. The cabin is really nice inside, not handicap accessible. But we would love to go back, only if the things that were wrong, gets fixed.

Would never stay here again
Over all cabin was nice. Upon further inspection we found some serious issues. Exposed wires, outlet with wires exposed. Grill was not clean by any means and the propane tank was just thrown on the deck, I guess guests are supposed to hook it up? Mold on the doors of bathroom and master bedroom. And a driveway that a car would not be able to navigate nor would our SUV had it rained at all during our stay. When contacted through the VRBO app the owners did not respond. Then contacted the messaging phone number and received very little response or concern about the issues.
We wanted to stay here as a family of four plus my parents. We arrived with two cars and one of them didn’t even make it to the house. The driveway is super beat up with deep ruts and exposed rocks and roots. This is not mentioned in the listing. 3 of us tried to open the lockbox with no success. We aborted mission and paid for a motel in St Ignace.
While on the property, I couldn’t reach the owner, because there was no signal. We sent them an email. They only responded after I send them another email . Communication has been poor, even before the trip.

Misleading
I was skeptical to book this when it had no reviews, but we were in a pinch and the listing looked good enough. However my criticism is similar to the other reviews. If you're also looking for a long "driveway" that is a trail through the woods that they make no mention of in the listing or in the check-in instructions and that would have been a disaster for us had it rained during our stay, then this is the place for you. Broken fan, exposed wires, lock box was a nightmare to open, leaky coffee maker, frequent ant sightings. Messaged them a question and got no response whatsoever. Will not be staying here again and would recommend not staying if you don't have a 4wd vehicle in case it rains. Pillows were choice, though.
We had a very difficult time at this property. We could not get the key out of the lockbox. We tried for 20 minutes to get in but couldn’t get it opened. It was very old and hard to read the buttons. With no cell service at the site, we were forced to drive out miles down the road to get a signal to contact the hotline number. We did talk to someone and went back and forth to the property 2 more times to try his suggestions to get in but to no avail. The last time we tried to open the lockbox, it still didn’t work. In desperation we tried a doorknob and it was unlocked but we were never able to get the key out. By this time it was dark, and the whole situation plus other circumstances made us very nervous and uneasy. Even though we could lock the door from the inside the key was still in the box. After a few hours, we still felt very apprehensive and nervous. We left the property and sought a hotel for the night around 11 pm. The driveway/lane to the property was really bad. Dirt, mud, ruts and a narrow drive made it hard to navigate. We bottomed out three times and I drive a truck. We were contacted the next day and told a new lockbox would be on the property. We let them know we would not return and just didn’t feel safe. The remoteness of the cabin. lack of cell or internet service made us feel very uneasy. We would request a refund but have no idea who to contact.
