Beach Haven prides itself on providing a safe, clean, comfortable, and family friendly vacation rental home. We have a history of quickly responding to any issues when we are properly notified. We were very surprised to read this review. Except for an e-mail asking if we had a separate heating system for the downstairs, to which we responded, we did not receive any other contact or notice of concerns at the time of your visit. Had we received such a contact, we would have promptly addressed your needs. Before your review, we had never had any complaints of any type of mildew smell. We took steps when we set up the vacation home to assure no such situation occurs, including proper drainage around and under the home, the use of “Dri-z-Air” devices in the downstairs rooms to eliminate any excess moisture in the home, and regular inspections. No families before or after your visit have had a mildew smelling complaint. Our housekeeping staff regularly inspects all the rooms to assure all devices, appliances, and facilities, including the showers are functioning properly. That is not to say that issues don’t pop up such as burnt out light bulbs, etc, but the downstairs tub/shower was and still is functioning properly. We will, in an effort to assure that future guests don’t run into a similar issue, provide instructions next to the shower on how to properly operate the tub/shower. As we indicated in our e-mail response, we only have one central heating system. To adjust the heating in the various rooms, including the downstairs rooms, it is necessary to adjust the heating vents; a procedure that is very common for central heating systems. We take pride in our home and the satisfaction of our guests. We wish we had known your issues sooner so we could have made your stay a better one.
