About this property
Retro Retreat: Cozy, Moderne, Affordable House in Wine Country.
Retro Retreat: Cozy, Moderne, Affordable House in Wine Country.
3 bdrm, 2.5 bath for the price of 2 bdrm 1 bath rental!! We are offer low prices. We would rather book more nights at low rates than fewer nights at higher rates.
The Retro Retreat is a fabulous little house built in 1951 and recently updated for comfort and convenience with central heat and A/C. It is centrally located in a very quiet neighborhood just north of the town of Sonoma, with easy access to highway 12. We have an updated kitchen with new cabinets, appliances and granite counter tops.
The main living room, kitchen and dining area is open, providing an extra large space for entertaining and relaxing with family and friends. A great space for celebrating holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, or just long weekends! One entire wall of the living room, dinning and kitchen area is glass, looking out on a covered patio and large back yard. The floor plan is ideal for two couples or a family. Two bedrooms, a full and half bath are in one wing of the house, another bedroom and full bath are in the other. The living room, dining area and kitchen are in the center of the house, providing complete privacy between the two wings.
The Retro Retreat is just minutes from the Sonoma Plaza (2.4 miles) for shopping and dining experiences, and within walking distance of the world famous Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa. In just a few minutes, heading North on highway 12, you will visit dozens of the best wineries California has to offer.
If you want to stay in after a day of wine tasting, dinner is a snap with provisions from Whole Foods or Sonoma Market. In addition to the new kitchen, there is a BBQ, dining table, chairs and lounge seating on the covered patio. Plus, staying at the Retro Retreat is a great way to save your $$, so you can splurge all that much more on Sonoma’s fine wines and dinning. When you book with us, let us know if you like red or white, so we can greet you with a bottle of one of our favorite Sonoma wines.

Overall was a good stay. Place was primarily clean, though there were a few mold spots in showers. Showers had terrible water pressure, and one of the bathroom sinks had a slow/backed up drain.

Nicole,
Thank you for your review. I will check out the problem with the slow draining sink. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. As for the shower water pressure I wonder if it is just because in California, we are mandated to have low flow shower heads, but I will check them out to see if they are getting clogged up. I have addressed the mold issue the day after you checked out. I actually started on it before you checked in, but could not complete it because it takes 18 hours for caulk to dry and I had a limited amount of time between guests.

This home is in a perfect location for morning walks. It is centrally located in the wine country. The house and yard are lovely. The kitchen has every dish, spice and pan you could want. The best feature is the home was easy for my elderly mother to get in and out of and move around in. She was able to move about the whole house with her walker.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was just as expected, and it made for a great home base for our trip. The location was perfect—right between Napa and Sonoma—so it was easy for us to explore both areas without any hassle. The hosts were very communicative, and we appreciated how quickly they responded to our messages. That made the whole experience feel easy and well taken care of.A couple of small notes: the water pressure in the smaller bathroom’s shower was pretty weak, though the pressure in the larger bathroom was excellent. The hot water also didn’t get quite as hot as we would’ve liked. Nothing that ruined the stay, just worth mentioning.Overall, we had a great time and would happily stay here again.

Thank you for the review and thank you for letting us know about the water pressure in the shower. I cleaned out the particles and mineral build up in the shower head and the current guests let us know the the pressure is now good.

We have rented this place 2x while visiting family for family weddings. Nice clean place in quiet neighborhood. Convenient to town and family gatherings.
We enjoyed our stay, walking distance to some good restaurants and a short drive from a grocery store. Was our home base for wine tasting in both Sonoma and Napa.
Location was great. Easy drive to Napa, Sonoma, San Francisco, Muirwood, Santa Rosa, Bodega Bay. Enjoyed evenings and mornings in the relaxing back yard.
Perfect for a girls getaway to Napa. Thanks for hosting us.

Kateri,
Thank you for your review of our property. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would be welcome back in the future.
To others who may be reading this review, I would like to clarify that our house is in Sonoma Valley, about a 20-30 minute drive to the southern part of Napa Valley and the city of Napa.

Really enjoyed our stay. Perfect for our family get together. We so enjoyed the backyard! Owners were super nice and dropped by our 1st evening to make sure everything was ok and even brought by a bottle of wine. Thanks for sharing your home!
This place had everything we needed for a great trip to Sonoma Valley. It's location is perfect to go many directions to check out wineries and very close to Sonoma where we took the wine trolley from.
Check in instructions and directions to the place was clear and easy to find. We would definitely stay here again.
