Wildlife Viewing from Creekside Deck w/Bikes In The Heart Of The Wine Country!
Take in all the Wine Country has to offer from this private, centrally located cozy apartment overlooking Sonoma Creek! With nearby great wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops, you'll find lots to enjoy in the area. Ride into Sonoma Plaza on the Sonoma Bike Trail with the 2 complimentary bicycles parked in the shed!
Please note! For a reservation to be accepted, you MUST tell us a bit about who's staying, and what brings you to the Wine Country.
Guests who book during the winter / rainy season may get a special whitewater treat! Since the Bungalow is overlooking Sonoma Creek, you will enjoy an exciting show if there is a rainstorm, and the tranquil creek gets a little more exciting! Part of the deck is covered, so you can enjoy a thrill during a rainstorm! (Don't worry, you are safely high above the creek in the ravine below.)
The Bungalow (Sonoma TOT Cert # 1436N ) features a beautiful kitchen, hardwood floors, a cozy gas 'Franklin' stove for cool nights,, and a sumptuous new Beautyrest queen bed and awesome high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Fast internet, cable and internet-enabled TV let you watch cable TV or stream movies. While the apartment is delightfully furnished (we own a furniture store!), the real attraction is the deck overlooking the creek. From here, you can sit for hours watching the steady stream of wildlife (deer, mostly) as they make their way along the trails along the year-round creek. When the rains start, the creek goes from a lazy creek to a roaring stream - with rapids just a bit past the bungalow, giving great sound effects. The deck features comfortable patio furniture and an optional gas firepit to enjoy a glass of wine around at the end of a busy day!
The Queen bed is a new Beautyrest that is moderately firm. (Note: Some have said it is too soft. Some have said its too firm. It is what it is!) The bed is covered with an Organic Cotton mattress protector/pad. High thread count Egyptian cotton sheets complete the ensemble. Spare blankets and pillows are in the closet.
The bathroom features a curved glass shower enclosure and a newly tiled shower. We have just added a Bidet Toilet - we tried one at a Vacation Rental ourselves and loved it - so we added one for you to enjoy as well! It features a heated seat and warm water. Heavenly!
While there are so many activities nearby, we expect that at least one of the days of your visit you'll grab a couple of bottles of wine and want to spend the whole day at the cozy Lazy Oak Creekside Bungalow, enjoying the magical surroundings!
** NOTE** MAX OVERNIGHT OCCUPANCY - 2 PERSONS ONLY ** (Including children)
IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure your booking request is accepted, please be sure to tell us a little about WHO is staying, WHERE you are from, and WHAT brings you to the Wine Country! Great place to stay, close to all the areas you would want to check out. Cozy and comfortable. Only suggestion is fixing the door to the bathroom, it did not want to stay closed. Thanks for the nice place to stay!

Hi Regan!
Oh my, I was unaware of an issue with the sliding bathroom door, I'll get right on it!
Beautiful location, and we really enjoyed our time there. We loved biking around and sitting on the deck by the river! The fire alarms would go off even without smoke (promise we're good cooks haha) every time we used the stove, so we had to open all the windows each time, but it was manageable once we figured that out. Overall a super cute bungalow!
This place is a must stay! The neighborhood it’s in is adorable. The creek is right out the deck and is a beautiful setting, not to mention the sound. And I fell in love with the heated toilet seat and shower door!I would live here if I could.

Cozy and comfortable little cottage, great quiet and convenient location.
We had a relaxing little New Year's getaway. The fireplace is amazing and was perfect for rainy nights staying in. We'd like to come back to try the bicycles during warmer months. We'll definitely be back!

Thanks guys - you had some great weather, but its really stellar when its not winter!! C'mon back and see us again!!
Such a unique and beautiful and peaceful place! Loved the fireplace, unique comfortable and beautiful furniture, bidet, fully equipped kitchen and especially the private porch with the hammock swing and river rushing by! We did see deer. Hosts did their best to communicate even though they were in Guatemala. Such a great retreat! We would love to come back and stay longer sometime!

Thanks so much, Dee! We will be back from Guatemala in a few more days, glad our team ensured a hiccup-free stay for you! See you next time!!
Beautiful location and close to Sonoma. I booked with the intention of using the fire pit on deck. But it’s an additional fee and was not aware of that. But overall comfortable spot and view is amazing
Loved our stay at the bungalow! Perfect spot for touring Sonoma. A welcoming and comfy place to come back to at the end of the day. Enjoyed the deck in the morning and evening.
The bungalow is cozy and comfortable, and I was especially pleased with the thoughtful touches in the kitchen while cooking for the holidays. Love that it's in a quiet residential neighborhood-we really got a feel for what it's like to live there. Watching the deer from the deck was an added pleasure.
Everything was fantastic! The scenery was very lovely in a very quite, peaceful neighborhood. The owners were very responsive. We plan to come back next year!!
Comfortable, roomy space with a nice deck overlooking a stream. Had breakfast out there and watched the birds a bit. Convenient to everywhere we planned to go and great to return to an easy, comfy place at the end of the hikes and wine tasting.
The creek deck was nice and relaxing. Enough privacy for a couple. Easy parking and close proximity to restaurants and vineyards. Only downside was the bed was firmer than mine and my partner's liking. House was clean and nice. Enjoyed our stay.
Michael was very welcoming and the bungalow was comfortable. In addition to the Franklin stove, there was also an overhead ac/heating unit and a portable radiator for the bedroom. The area was more spacious than the pictures suggested, I had worried the bedroom might be too "cozy" but it was more than sufficient. Kitchen was stocked with equipment to make basic meals and the location was close to both downtown Sonoma as well as Jack London Historic State Park and highways. It does share a wall with the bungalow next door, but no one was there so I can't speak to how much the sound travels between units. Would stay again for a few days in Sonoma on my own!

Great spot for exploring Sonoma! The space was clean and comfortable. We especially loved the deck out back. Close to town and easy to get to. Our host was great and provided some wonderful recommendations for dinner, vineyards, etc. Thanks for sharing your home!
We really enjoyed our stay here! It was very close to downtown Sonoma and of course still accessible to Napa and the other towns nearby. It was very peaceful sitting on the deck hearing the creek and enjoying the quiet mornings. Thanks for a great stay!
The cabin was ideal. The kitchen was well equipped and bright and easy to use. We loved that you could sit at the table and open the kitchen door and look beyond to the creek It was quiet, private and deck was such a nice refuge There were good instructions for use of the place. It was close enough to vetting we wanted to do.

Avid travelers, my wife and I frequently stay in vacation rentals all over the world. We know what it takes to make a place special, and we know what we need to feel at home! We're confident that our properties will make you feel like you're in your home away from home! This is our second vacation rental, our first vacation rental (VRBO number 497125) is very popular and is nearly always booked! We strive to offer a great value in a fully legal, permitted vacation rental, so you can enjoy our town as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property because we took one look at the last (creekside) unit of this 4-unit (2 duplexes) property, and realized it was a gem we needed to share! The first 3 units are home to people who have lived in the apartments for a long time. The last unit on the creek is very secluded and quiet, and offers incredible creek views and unparalleled wildlife viewing.
What makes this property unique
In the shade of the big oak tree near the rear of the property (hence: Lazy Oak), the large tree provides an idyllic environment for enjoying the wine country. The apartment is tastefully furnished and secluded. The outdoor spaces are oriented for maximum enjoyment of their creekside frontage. Patio furniture and firepit are provided for your enjoyment of the outdoors. The Creek babbles in the summer, and can roar in the winter. The constant presence of deer, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife in the riparian means you can lose yourself for hours watching as the animals traverse through the trails. Go on photo safari right in Sonoma!
