Great location on the lake. Far enough away from a lot of people, but a short 5-7 minute drive down town. Great for milky way photography. The house was cozy and had everything we needed, plus more! Central to a lot of popular sites

This was our third year staying here and it was amazing as usual! I appreciate the updates being made each year- we really enjoyed the fire pit closer to the house the year and the updated view through the trees of the water.

We came back for a second year and have already booked again for a third! Our family adores this house and every time the kids ask if we can live there forever I can not say enough good things about this property. The house is perfect size for our family and is so well stocked with all the staples you need. The lake front and views are just awesome. We love the private wooded feel, with proximity to restaurants and shops. Literally the perfect vacation house and the owner is super responsive, 100% recommend!

We had a great time. This is a beautiful property. There are a lot of mosquitos outside though. Bring bug spray if you are going to be spending a lot of time outside here.

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Octagon house! We chose it because we planned to do the Mackinaw Bridge Walk on Labor Day, and it was a very convenient location on the water, but it ended up being so much more. We roasted marshmallows over the fire, played cornhole, read and relaxed on the deck watching freighters go by, and spent hours skipping rocks on the beach. We also brought our kayaks and paddle boards and enjoyed using them as well. We had fun exploring downtown Saint Ignace (highly recommend Salty Mac Brewing Company pizza), Mackinaw City, and Mackinac Island (we took the Sheppler 9:00am ferry that took us under the bridge). And of course, we completed the bridge walk! It was an amazing experience shared with about 34,000 other people. Stephanie was an amazing host and gave us tons of helpful information about the bridge walk before we even arrived. Our entire family (which includes adult children) had a fantastic time during our stay.

House was picture perfect. A beach house with a woodsy feel. Only one suggestion: don't wear socks on the steps. Very polished and very slippery. My husband (the floor covering guy) said they needed safety strips to prevent falling. We will be returning. Thank you! Maryann

We loved this location! The house was adorable, clean and had everything we needed. It was right on a rocky beach and we could see the Mackinac Bridge if you walk out a short distance. Town and ferry were nearby. Thank you to the host!

Wonderful Stay in a beautiful location!

I can't say enough about this place! It was super cute and comfortable. The location feels secluded but is onlyminutes to St. Ignace. The house was well stocked and was as advertised. Our family had a wonderful stay!

This was a great family vacation spot. We loved the privacy and the beach view! It was too cold to swim the week we were there, but we enjoyed the sunsets and walks along the shoreline. The cottage is clean and comfortable. The internet was great, very fast and reliable. I highly recommend the Octagon Beach House.

We absolutely loved staying at this home and plan to return again next year! The kids (and myself) wanted to never leave. It was so peaceful and the water was amazing and crystal clear, we swam everyday. The owners thoughtfully stocked the house with everything you would need. Our kids especially loved the loft room and all the toys they had available.

Magical Beach Vacation!

Beautiful beach front property with all the amenities you need to unplug and relax! Cozy and clean, a mix of modern and rustic decor, close to the bridge, close to the national dune shore, short trip into St. Ignace and easy access to Mackinac Island. We had a wonderful time relaxing with the family, playing corn hole, swimming, and exploring the area. 10/10 will definitely be back!

If you have the opportunity to rent this house don’t let it pass you by. It’s close enough to shopping but still gives up North cottage vibes! We had the best weather for the weekend! No complaints.
