About this property
Oceanfront on John's Bay with Private Beach 50 feet from Cottage, New Harbor.
After your stay at A Sea Glass Beach Cottage, you will fall witness to “the way life should be”.
This little gem of a cottage offers a true coastal Maine stay with a private beach just 50 feet from the porch. A Sea Glass Beach Retreat is located on the desired and beloved Pemaquid Trail. It is one of the first cottages built on the trail with a cathedral style pinewood living room with open loft. Here, you can sit and relax on the adirondack chairs while sipping your morning coffee and watch the lobsterman haul in their traps from John’s Bay. During the day, take in local attractions such as visiting the Pemaquid Lighthouse, board the Hardy Boat Puffin cruise off the famous Shaw’s Fish & Lobster Wharf, unwind at the sandy Pemaquid Beach or spend your day collecting sea glass, rocks and shells from your own private pebble beach. A child’s paradise. Visits to nearby coastal towns of Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, Wiscasset and Camden are always fun too! Make sure to return to your cottage to catch glimpses of seals sunning themselves on the rocks at low tide and witness breathtaking sunsets. Fall asleep to the sounds of the waves.
A Seaglass Beach Retreat is a great location for launching kayaks/canoes and is a one-bedroom seaside cottage. A King-size bed is in the bedroom and a twin bed along with an armless couch sleeper are set-up on the sunny waterside porch. There is a comfy sofa-couch double pull-out in the living room and a full-size bed is located in the open loft for individuals over the age of 10.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer Mitchell

Born in Maine, I am the 3rd generation to own this spectacular cottage along John's Bay on the desirable Pemaquid Trail. The location was picked by my great Aunt who built the home after serving in the war as a nurse. I have fond memories of visiting my Aunt and my mother who lived year-round at the home. As a child, I would spend hours collecting sea glass on the private beach just 50 feet from the porch. Finding nuggets of blue sea glass is still a find today. Our children are now spending time at the cottage during the summer and have fallen witness to “the way life should be” - a far cry from our normal life in Silicon Valley, California.
Why they chose this property
Generations have had the opportunity to enjoy this cottage by the water. It's a bonus that I have to opportunity to share it with others - creating memories to pass along for families near and far.
What makes this property unique
You can't beat the view! From the front porch, you are 50 feet from your own private pebble beach. The sunsets are gorgeous - but don't just take our word for it - experience it! Watch the lobsterman haul in their traps while drinking your morning coffee or picnicking at the picnic table.
