Quiet place that is off the grid, but had the modern amenities that made our night comfortable. If you are looking for a peaceful weekend away. I would highly recommend

All the best,

The space felt like home and not just a place to sleep. We had read negative reviews about the heating not working properly but we did not run into that issue. It was nice that everything seemed to be near by in case we needed to go out. We enjoyed our afternoon at the vineyard and went to the golf club for dinner. Finished the night with s'mores and Netflix. The host was responsive and stopped by to login back into the Netflix. Will definitely plan another stay
We had a wonderful time! The mill is converted into an adorable and extremely comfortable apartment and we loved our stay there. Many toughtful details were provided, like coffee, creamer, and plently of towels and blankets. The apartment was also all decorated for Christmas, which felt really special! The farm animals were adorable, we especially liked seeing the cute donkeys. We look foward to staying there again next time we are in the area.

This was our 2nd year and it is a charming place and location (plus the animals!) but, we won't go again in the winter. It's just too cold and the heat only worked well in the bedrooms. It helped to cover up the bigger holes in the floor (this is an upstairs space and the downstairs isn't heated) but the heating needs to be fixed or updated in the main room. The hosts are very communicative, friendly, and kind. We stopped at their vineyard this time - a lovely place, worth a stop.

Thank you for staying with us again and for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about the space, the location, and our hospitality. We’re also glad you were able to visit the vineyard and enjoy it this time around.
We did want to clarify that the downstairs area is not part of the guest space and is intended to remain closed to guests, which is why it was not heated. There are also three thermostats that may be adjusted to increase the heat. For additional warmth during winter stays, we do provide space heaters that can be used to significantly warm the main living areas. For future stays if you ever have any issues while you’re at the farm, please message us so we can help you have a better stay. We’re always happy to assist!
That said, we understand that winter stays aren’t for everyone, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective. We value your feedback and are always working to ensure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Thank you again for visiting and for your thoughtful review.
The farm was a little trick to get to but with the detailed directions from our hosts we were able to find it. Place was lovely and exactly what we needed

I stayed at the Mill and was so impressed with everything from the host making my check in easy to how charming it is! If your looking for a quiet and peaceful get away the Mill is it! Beautiful grounds and I enjoyed the animals. I cant wait to book again.
We had a great stay at Ethereal Farms. As we walked in the door, a beautiful Christmas tree met us with a warm glow. Being a moon lit evening, we took a short crisp walk, enjoying being in the middle of nowhere, enjoying nature at night. The Mill was old and rustic but comfortable and perfect. My husband enjoyed hiking in the Glenroy Preserve next door and I enjoyed the turkeys and goats on the farm. We also enjoyed a campfire with s’mores!! Laura was so sweet to visit and couldn’t be more helpful. It was the peaceful weekend that we needed. Tina & Curtis. 11/28/25-11/30/25

Photos on the VRBO website doesn't do The Mill justice! It's such a beautiful, clean and spacious space. The beds were also comfy!Added bonus were the trails and animals. The Turkeys are part of the welcome squad. Location was great -- near the Glen Roy park, Oxford and Rising Sun. 5/5 stars!
The setting is beautiful. We stayed in the mill. It is an old building that was remodeled. An over-all quaint experience with all the modern comforts. The stairs to the room are steep and i wouldn't recommend them for anyone elderly. My husband and 11yo loved it's rustic charm. Wish our schedule allowed more time to check out the farm and walking trails.

Thank you so much, Tracey! I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay in the mill and that the rustic charm made it a memorable experience for your husband and little one. We’d love to welcome you back anytime, hopefully with more time to relax, explore the farm, and walk the trails.
It's a rustic but very cozy place. It was very clean and was stocked with so many niceties. Very classy and just lovely. The stairs are kind of steep so you might want to take that into consideration. We walked up to the barn area and met some of the animals - the turkeys and donkeys are quite sociable and very cute! The surrounding area is bucolic. All in all, a really nice place to get away from it all.

Do not stay here! Freezing cold and unkind host. One of the worst vacation rental experiences I've had out of many. The space was freezing from the moment we arrived and never warmed up, even with the heat turned up. This very old mill is not properly retrofitted to stay warm. There is no insulation under the floors, no heat in the bathroom, and holes in the floorboards that open straight to the space below. Most of the baseboard heaters did not work. The host will reply to this review to say we didn't contact her, but after arriving later than expected, we kept giving the heating system time to work, thinking it was just old and slow, and we did not want a late-night intrusion into our space. But by the morning (when we woke up freezing and checked out after a brief one-night stay, thank goodness) it was 100% clear that the space was insufficiently heated.Afterward, I asked for a very modest refund, and the host refused. Shockingly, she blamed the situation on us (“user error,”) despite the heating controls being extremely basic sliders that no one could misuse. Her response was dismissive and unprofessional. She took no responsibility for a big obvious problem.Anyone considering staying here should know that the mill may be intolerably cold and that the host doesn't care about doing what's right. I would never stay here again. The broken heating system also sounded two deafening alarms in the middle of the night, waking us up in a panic.

We strongly disagree with this review and feel it is important to correct several factual inaccuracies.
The heating system was fully operational at the time of this stay. I personally cleaned the space just a few hours before arrival, during which the mill was very warm. Additionally, another guest checked in later the same day after this guest departed and had no issues whatsoever with the heat.
The guest arrived around 6:00 PM and had several hours to contact us if there were any concerns. We are highly responsive and always available to assist, yet we received no communication during the stay. In addition to the baseboard heating, we provide large, powerful space heaters specifically for guest use, which can significantly warm the space. These were available but not used.
It is also important to note that there is no alarm system in the mill at all. The claim of “two deafening alarms” is entirely false.
There are three thermostats located in The Mill, each controlling the temperature in a different section of The Mill. When we tried to communicate this with the guest about their “user error,” they refused to listen or acknowledge their mistake.
A refund was requested after checkout, despite no opportunity being given to address any concerns during the stay. Still, even after all of this, we processed the refund within days of their stay, even when the claims conflict with the condition of the property before and after the stay.
We take guest comfort seriously and have many positive reviews that reflect this. Unfortunately, this review contains multiple inaccuracies that we cannot allow to go unaddressed.
Beautiful, rustic apartment on a farm was the perfect relaxing environment we needed for the weekend. Loved walking around the wooded grounds and meeting the farm animals. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Will definitely try to cone back.
