Septic & Restroom Use Our property operates on a sensitive, limited-capacity septic system. For standard stays (10 guests or fewer), normal indoor restroom use is perfectly fine.
For any approved gatherings over 10 guests, a porta potty rental is required, and guests must primarily use the provided porta potties to avoid overloading the system. Limited indoor use is okay, but the bulk of restroom traffic should be directed outside.
Overuse of the septic system can lead to backups and costly cleanup. If misuse results in a septic issue, guests may be charged for associated service and cleanup fees.
Pet Policy For standard VRBO stays (10 guests or fewer), we allow up to 3 dogs. There is a $35 fee per dog per stay. Dogs must be supervised, cleaned up after, and any damages are the responsibility of the guest.
Good to Know This property also operates as an outdoor event venue with camping during the warmer months. We host weddings, festivals, and retreats throughout the season, and offer short-term rentals during open weekends. For clarity: the lodge is one large open space, not multiple living rooms.

We went for our anniversary and then invited the kids for the 2nd night. There is so much to do and so much to explore. Communication with the owner was second to none. We fell in love with this place and have already booked a second trip in a months time when my parents come to visit. Best weekend ever!
Starting with an exclamation of astonishment, the beauty of the space and view is simply captivating. The expansive grounds of this magnificent place offer a glimpse of the upcoming fall season through the transitioning leaves. A picturesque landscape that allows for an abundance of space for family bonding, including savoring meals together in the well-equipped kitchen around an elegant table. Additionally, enjoying a cozy outdoor fire while roasting marshmallows under the brilliant night sky, and the children took great delight in swimming in the pool and spotting a shooting star, an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere at the lodge is reminiscent of being among close acquaintances, and we are already making plans for our next stay.
We had a fantastic 3 day stay at the G Lodge. We were snowed in, but that didn’t matter, because this place had everything we needed. There is so much character at the G Lodge. Every wall tells many stories. The wood stove made for a cozy warm stay on the days where the snow and wind never stopped. We had such fun playing pool and darts. The hot tub was a very relaxing perk that we took advantage of daily. The entire property is amazing. We are eager to see this place in the warm months. The best part of all was the welcoming way that Gabi, the host, made us feel at home. She is a hardworking, kind, and trustworthy host. Even our pup loved her! I have no notes or suggestions. You’ve Got to stay at the G Lodge!
This was one of the coolest places to stay. So before I get into the place, I want to say that check-in was wonderful. The host was so accommodating. They let me come early to drop stuff off, and allowed a late check-out. I know that can't always happen, but I felt they would do anything to be helpful. The space is so cool! It's full of vintage stuff, and it's beautiful. Everything you could need is there. Cooking full meals, watching a movie on the projector, soaking in the hot tub, walking around the pond, just relaxing. It's also somehow a super cool venue at the same time, and I can't wait to go back to enjoy a show there!

Beautiful land
I couldn't get the home manual until I got there. And wasn't given any highlights like paying extra for using the grill that's listed as an Amenity on the property could not use the pool. It was dirty two inches of dirty freezer ice, so much left in the.Refrigerator that it was hard to put anything in there. We needed. And had two unannounced unappreciated, guests show up on the property. Was offered a free stay in the future?
But I have no plans in going to that area.
This is a once and every three year trip for us and very disappointing weekend
My family is from this area, but I grew up between Rochester and Syracuse, went to school at Buffalo State, and spent a good chunk of my 20s traveling the world. I’ve been to all 50 states twice and have visited something like 28 countries now, which has definitely shaped me into the person that I am today and carries into how I host.
These days, my partner Mike and I run the Gauger Estate together. We’re usually working on the property, cooking something up, or sneaking away for a camping trip when we can. We’ve put a lot of care into creating a space that feels relaxed, a little unique, and connected to nature.
I really enjoy hosting because I love giving people a place to gather, unwind, and make memories—whether that’s a quiet weekend or something a little more lively. I want it to feel easy, welcoming, and like you can make yourself at home here.
Why they chose this property
This property has been stewarded by my family for generations and served my grandfather as his hunting Lodge. It’s pretty quiet out here—in a good way. We’re surrounded by woods and open space, so you’ll hear birds, frogs, maybe some coyotes at night, and see way more stars than you would in the city.
What I like most is just how easy it is to slow down here. You can have a fire, walk around the property, hang by the pond, or just sit outside and not feel rushed. It’s not far from town if you need anything, but it definitely feels like you’ve gotten away for a bit.
What makes this property unique
It’s not your typical rental—because you’re staying on someone’s land, not in a cookie-cutter space. There’s a lot of character here, my grandfather built this lodge, there's history hidden throughout it—you're in the middle of the woods but you also have open space, and little spots to hang out around the property.
We’ve also set it up to be really versatile. It can be a quiet place to unplug, but it also works well for small gatherings, cooking outside, or just spending time together without feeling cramped.
I think what really makes it stand out though is the feeling—you’ve got room to breathe, it’s a little rustic, a little unique, and it just naturally slows people down in a good way.
