The Rustic Hills Retreat is situated on four lakeside lots, a perfect location for family oriented fun. The home and property allows for lake access with a dock...excellent for boating, kayaking and fishing. Enjoy the scenery while relaxing on the deck, grilling (grills included) or enjoying smores and campfire stories with two bonfire pits. The quaint neighborhood is great for a family bike ride or a stroll around peaceful lakeside properties. Guests will have access to two kayaks (with life jackets), badminton/volleyball nets and equipment, a basketball hoop, bikes, hammock and a cornhole set. The yards and grounds are perfect for outside games, with ample space for tenting. The house is equipped with many amenities and appliances that will support ten guests. The Rustic Hills Retreat has two upper bedrooms containing queen size beds, along with a lower bedroom with a queen bed. A pull out sleeper, futons and daybeds in both the upper and lower living rooms allow for sleeping arrangement for the entire family. The house has a full kitchen and formal dining room. Kitchen amenities include; pots, pans, dishes, silverware, bowls, various kitchen utensils, toaster, microwave, Keurig, a drip coffee maker, air fryer and much more. Also included in the home is a washer and dryer. The lower part of the house has a billiard and bar room, with TV. Included in the lower living room is a large screen TV, air hockey and foosball tables. Come enjoy a home away from home.

Absolutely Beautiful

We had a party of 10 and it fit us very comfortably. The neighborhood is very nice and peaceful. Absolutely beautiful place I would go back again and recommend!! We were able to enjoy lots of swimming, fishing, and boating!

Rustic Hills Retreat was our chosen spot for our annual girls weekend. We didn’t have the best of weather so a lot of time was spent inside. There was plenty of room and things to do for the 8 of us. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. Owner was very helpful and quick with responding to any questions we had.

We had a relaxing time. Beautiful views of Union Lake from inside the home and deck. The house has everything you need for a good time. We rented a pontoon from Chris which allowed us to get on the water to swim instead of right off the dock. We enjoyed playing pool and kayaking. No major issues during the stay.

Amazing place

This place had everything you can possibly need and more. We had a great time and even though it was raining one evening we play pool, board games… My kids enjoyed basketball hoop and other games. We sat by the fire and really enjoyed this time we spent there. Wonderful experience .

Returning to our hometown for my Mothers memorial service was emotional... but this awesome place to stay helped make things better! My husband and I, two sons, their wives, and 2 grandchildren stayed and there was plenty of room for everyone! SO clean and cozy, Welcome Basket was on point, very clear communication with host, and lots of fun things to keep everyone occupied were just SOME of the highlights. Then there was the gorgeous lake-view, and the firepits... 2 of the best amenities! Thank you so much for allowing our family to come together for a cookout after the service, as well. We will be back!!

This house was by far the best VRBO experience I have ever had. This quant little house was spotlessly clean, even in the basement around the furnace. Every room had a nightlight, a fan, extra bedding, pillows, stacks of nice plush towels, kleenex, extra toilet paper, light switches labeled….absolutely everything you could possibly need. There was a wonderful gift basket with local items, bottles of water in the fridge, and a bag of ice in the freezer. Absolutely everything you could possibly need. Beds were even very comfortable. My 84 year old mother was skeptical and nervous thinking she would rather be in a hotel and just loved the entire experience. It’s an older home, a little outdated, but high quality furnishings, homey feel, and very well equipped. Beautiful views, space for everyone to hang out. I will definitely be back and cannot recommend highly enough.

Lake House View

We had a great stay at this Rustic Hills Retreat lakehouse. The views are absolutely stunning to see from sunrise to sunset and outdoor space is amazing and puts you at peace! My brother enjoyed fishing off the dock. We both enjoyed the pool table inside as well. Overall, we both enjoyed our time here between inside and outdoor space. It was even a perfect spot to travel to Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Coldwater all within about 25 to 40 minutes. We even had a slight issue getting in to the lakegouse and within 3 minutes Ron(one of the owners) had us inside to enjoy. They even had a nice welcome basket with cookies and some insight to the area. We will definitely stay here again when we are back this way. Thank you, Rustic Hills Retreat!

Michigan Vacation

This property suited our needs well. We had a senior occupant who was able to shower easily with the step through tub. She could enjoy the top level easily. My husband and I enjoyed the basement and the amenities it had to offer. We also really enjoyed the kayaks. This lake was very quiet the whole week. We were able to kayak at our leisure. It is a rural area which is what we were looking for. The only knock on the area is the local grocery store has been purchased by people who price gouge. There is a dollar general in the town and a grocery store in Colon, which is nearby. The host was very accommodating. We enjoyed the ease of our stay. We would recommend this place of you are looking for a quiet visit.
