It was a great get away from our busy lives, thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in your home, we all greatly appreciate it, we have 0 complaints, 5 stars all around, thank you again!
The West Newton River Retreat was absolutely wonderful! This was the perfect fall weekend "staycation" for my husband and our one year old son (it was only one hour from home!), but truly felt like a getaway and was so peaceful and relaxing! We were blown away by the cleanliness and all the details/ thought that went into making this truly feel like a "home away from home". The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could think of, fresh flowers on the kitchen counter, snacks and water available, and bathroom products for guests to use. There is plenty around the area to do if you are looking to get out and about too- we enjoyed a visit to Lark Toys and an afternoon in Nelson, WI. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone, and really look forward to staying here again and making memories with my family! Thank you to the wonderful hosts- we will be back!
This was the perfect place for us. We had a (7) guys reunion along with a fishing excursion. This place had everything we needed. The house is updated and clean. The hosts were very kind and gracious to us and very responsive. The neighbors were very nice as well. We couldn't have asked for a better place. They had kitchen utensils, cutlery, pans, etc... The property also has a private dock so we utilized that with our boat. The back yard is spacious, with a nice deck and outdoor seating on the deck and a cozy fire pit. They have plenty of chairs for everyone. They provide wood for the fire pit and charcoal for the BBQ grill. They have a gas grill, charcoal grill and a flat top!!! Plenty of options to do all the cooking you want. We also took advantage of the Cornhole games they provided and had a blast. I love the open concept with the kitchen, dining and living room making it easy for us all to be together. They have 2 rooms, 1 room with a 2 bunk beds which sleeps 4, one room with a king size bed, and a pullout bed in the living room. The host really do an amazing job to make sure we have the best time there. I highly recommend this and we will be back.
This rental is amazing! We vacationed here with our 4 kids (ages 7-15).The cabin was a perfect setup for us. The cabin is new, clean, and had literally every amenity included with it. Extremely well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms (the best we've ever seen in a rental! Nothing that we needed was missed!). The outdoor deck and backyard is perfect (fire table with 6 high-top chairs, Blackstone grill, charcoal grill, and a gas grill, fire pit, chairs for around the fire pit, fire wood). We did a lot of cooking at the cabin and had every items we needed. Every night, we enjoyed drinks around the fire table. When it rained, there were lots of games to choose from and that kept our kids busy. Our kids spent countless hours fishing from the dock (and they had lots of luck, too!). The neighbors next door had a couple of dogs and we had no issues with any barking at night or early in the morning. In fact, the kids loved playing with the little puppy (who was very well-trained). Kellogg has Kwik Trip to get a few groceries and we really liked "Dick's Fresh Market" in Wabasha for groceries. Buck's Bar in Minneiska had a meat market that we were able to get some items for the grill. While in this area, we enjoyed visiting The National Eagle Center, hiking to the top of the bluffs in John A. Lautsch State Park (definitely worth the hike up!), and Lark Toys. Absolutely beautiful area to visit! This cabin had it all! We truly enjoyed this area that was a little off the beaten path.
