Some of our favorite hikes are: Mingo Falls Mingo Falls is on the Cherokee Indian Reservation (Qualla Boundary), just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. No special permits are required for access to the reservation. At 120 feet tall, the waterfall is one of the tallest and most spectacular in the southern Appalachians. The hike to the waterfall is only 0.4 miles in length, but is considered moderate in difficulty. Access Trail: Pigeon Creek Trail Trailhead: From Oconaluftee Visitor Center, drive south (toward Cherokee) on US-441 and take the second left onto Big Cove Road. At the first stop sign turn left and drive 4.5 miles to Mingo Falls Campground, where the trail begins. Juney Whank Falls Juney Whank Falls is divided into an upper and lower section. Both can be viewed from the footbridge which crosses Juney Whank Branch at the falls. Together they drop 90 feet from top to bottom. The trail to the waterfall is 0.8 miles roundtrip and is considered moderate in difficulty. Grotto Falls Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest and actually runs behind the 25 foot high waterfall. The cool, moist environment near the falls is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail to stop #5 where there is a large parking area. This one is close and absolutely beautiful. I last hiked it with my 60 year old mother and 4 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 3-11 years old. We saw 3 bears at a distant, swam in the reflective pool of the falls, and had a fun-filled day without over doing it.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and all the beautiful views and amenities this cabin and area has to offer. We do not have a AWD or 4WD so I'm not sure the difference it would make driving in the Smoky Mtns. But we do love the accessibility of this cabin. Only 1.2 miles off the main parkway on a secondary road with a paved driveway. Located within city limits so maintained and snow plowed by Gatlinburg City. We often travel with a fuel efficient Prius to the cabin. We have been there a few times in the snow and had no problem venturing out in the Prius for the day. We love the prime location of this cabin, how it is secluded nestled into the side of a mountain but only a 10 mins easu drive to the downtown restaurants and activities.
Dorothy was an excellent Host with great communication! The cabin was cozy with a lot of amenities, very clean and was ready upon arrival... Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback and we are so glad you overall enjoyed your stay. We know that on the first evening that the pilot light went out in one of the fireplace, possibly from a cool draft when front door and back door were open at same time creating a gust through the cabin. You reported it to us at 5:11pm, we were able to have our maintenance tech there by 5:44pm, who was able to light the pilot light so that you could enjoy both fireplaces for the rest of your 6 night stay. We did not hear back from you with any other issues for the rest of the stay. We hate that when you wanted the fireplace it did not come on that moment but we feel the 5 star experience was that within 40 minutes fireplace pilot light was lit and back to perfect working condition. We offer a beautiful well maintained, well equipped cabin with a owner that cares and communicates, and a top cleaning and maintenance team that works hard to prevent issues from arising, but also can quickly react if there is an issue reported .
We had a wonderful time! Cabin was perfect for us. I love that the cabin feels remote while you are there, but you are less than 10 minutes from grocery store, shops and restaurants.

We really enjoyed the privacy and remoteness of the cabin. The host was wonderful and worked with us on checkout rimes. The only downside was the winding roads which were challenging until you got used to them. The cabin was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. Great experience!

We love that this cabin is nestled in the side of the mountains while only being a 1 mile drive off the main parkway. Only one mile drive, yet the peaceful seclusion and beauty of the mountains.
Cozy cabin, super cute, communication was great! We did have a whole night without WiFi though unfortunately;however, the property manager sent someone out asap to get it fixed for next guest which is nice. Other than that one issue, everything else was great!

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and had a great time. We did received you message sent at 11pm the night before check out that the WiFi stopped working. We immediately logged into the wifi and saw that the modem was not able to be accessed remotely. Which is why I asked you to check to see if anything was unplugged and to try restarting it. When the tech showed up at 10 am the next morning, just 11 hours after you reported the issue. The tech found that the back cord was not fully connected. He did replace the cord Incase the one there was jostled loose too easily or just no longer getting a full connection. And had the wifi back in full use by 1015 am. We hate it when things are not perfect for our guest but we also know perfection does not exist but excellent service does. So we work hard to provide excellence to each guest. We hope you did enjoy an excellent vacation and come back again.
The cabin was great as the pictures showed. I was extremely happy with it. The onlybthing the pool table was nice looking but the side rails were wore out. I was very thankful for the air hockey table it keep us busy when we were inside.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you overall enjoyed the beautiful cabin and enjoyed the amenities offered. The game room is full of fun gametables and is a great way to spend quality time together. The decks are so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin itself is designed for romance with the master bedroom suite that has the large king bed, fireplace, jetted tub for 2, full bathroom with stand-up shower, and close to the private deck with the bubbly hot tub. We understand that everyone is unique and has their own preferred firmness of a mattress. We hate that it was not as soft as your your husband desired. Our mattress is medium firmness and meets most people's preference. We do appreciate and your feedback and will check into the pool table. Thanks again!
This was the perfect place for me and my girlfriend. A nice quiet spot with activities to do just minutes away. 10/10 would recommend

The cabin location lacks any view. The cleaniness was so-so. Counters and dining table were dirty, under the couch and bed need to be swept clean, many cooking pans were put away unwashed. Decks were unusable- cob webs, dirt, debris. Didn't open the hotbtub. Worst of all, when we stripped the bed, there were blood stains on the mattress. No mattress cover.

Thank you for your feedback. Not hearing from your during your stay and then seeing these comments was a shock. After seeing your review I went to the cabin personally to verify that this was not true. What I found the mattress not only has an encasement but also has a plush-top cover with an encasement over protector. I removed all covers and encasements and found the mattress to be spotless. I put the protectors back on and checked the other items listed. Under the beds and couch were clean, table tops and counters clean, dishes and cabinets clean. Decks had a few fallen leaves that blew on since the cleaning but was clean, web and debris free. Hot tub was clean and inviting, as with the entire house it is cleaned after each guests. I thought your review was odd, as there are no spiders on the decks in the winter to even make webs and we just had the cabin deep cleaned earlier that month. And then Thoroughly cleaned after each guest. While at the cabin, I did a thorough inspection. The only thing I found was one of the 4 cookie sheets did have some carbonization (burned oil) marks. Not dirty but marked.
I am very thankful for our cleaning and maintenance team. They are one of the top teams in this area and do a superb job. Had you contacted me during your stay and expressed any level of dissatisfaction, our amazing team would have come out and addressed any issues. You did not reach out to us once during your stay. I am also very thankful for our guests that stay and enjoy this beautiful cabin. We work hard to provide a 5 out of 5 star stay because we truly want our guests to have the best experience. And we hope for all guests to love and enjoy our cabin as we do.
Property was as advertised. Great little weekend getaway!
