Winterhaven was great!

Perfect place for our family. The house and cabins keep everyone comfortable.

We have stayed twice And both times felt at home. Very comfortable and peaceful setting for our big family. Dave and Peggy are welcoming and do their best to make our stay the best. Can't wait until next year.

Cabin has character !! sitting on the deck absorbing peace and quiet, listening to loons. Kayak and paddle boat available! Yes I would chose to stay another time.

Cabins rented with Main House #514342

Our family rented #514342 as the main house with additional guests staying in 2 cabins. It was a great set up for a family reunion gathering. Our family in the future would only stay in the cabins if we were renting the main house because then able to enjoy all the facilities and amenities and had the entire location to ourselves. The cabins were clean and comfortable and would be a nice affordable place for 2-4 people. The owner/hostess was wonderful.

Great set up for a larger family or group

My parents rented the main house for a family vacation. The house is very nice and spacious and fit most of the kids and grandkids but we have a large family so me and my girlfriend rented one of the smaller cabins as well which worked out really well. There is a main house with 4 bedrooms and 3 two bedroom cabins on this property available. The small cabin we stayed in was not quite as nice but very livable and we were very comfortable. They could use a few updates yet but I've staying in much worse. The shower could use an update.. But they are cabins after all, not the Hilton. Great place for large family or groups to get together. Sounds like we'll be back.

We are a married couple of 45 years with a family of 6 kids, all married, and 15 grandchildren. Our kids grew up loving our small lake lot in southern Minnesota and as we neared retirement we wanted a place that they could bring their families to create some of the same memories. We hope to be able to create some lasting memories for years to come and we hope you join us.
Reservations are booked through our son Matthew.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property for its serene setting. It just seems to be an escape from the real world. With a large hill on one side of the lake it seems that you are in your own little world. Families who come here have enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking, playing outdoors, lawn games, campfires... - spending quality time together.
