David, thank you for your feedback on Lake Tomahawk Retreat! We’re so glad you enjoyed the lovely neighborhood and found the home clean. We’d love to welcome you back for another great stay anytime!
Four childhood female friends in our 70s had a couple of days of fun in Black Mountain. The house itself is one of the nicest short term rentals I have ever had the pleasure to utilize. It was immaculate and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. Tomahawk Lake is a very short walk away and has a picturesque .55 mile flat path around the lake as well as playground equipment for kids. There are a couple of small negative things I would like to point out: a; the house sits directly on a rather busy neighborhood road. It can be a bit dicey backing out of the 2 driveways and the road noise can be distracting since the only outdoor space that currently has outdoor seating is facing the road. b; the listing says the house is within walking distance of downtown. I guess this is technically true but it is furthur than we thought and there are no sidewalks near the house. The curvy roads and lack of walking easement make walking rather hazardous. It was, however, a short drive to downtown Black Mountain and we greatly enjoyed the restaurants and shopping. The local rental agents were VERY accommodating and helpful!
