The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Northwest Portland—one of the city’s most iconic and beloved neighborhoods. Nestled in the heart of the historic Alphabet District, this walkable enclave blends old Portland charm with a vibrant, modern lifestyle.
Tree-lined streets and beautifully preserved homes give the area a timeless feel, while just around the corner, NW 23rd Avenue (affectionately known as “Trendy Third”) buzzes with life. This popular stretch is packed with locally owned boutiques, chef-driven restaurants, cozy cafés, cocktail bars, and dessert spots like Salt & Straw and Papa Haydn. Whether you’re up for a leisurely brunch, window shopping, or an evening of wine and small plates, it’s all right outside your door.
Outdoor lovers will appreciate exploring Washington Park—home to the world-renowned Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden, and Oregon Zoo. Just beyond that lies Forest Park, one of the largest urban forests in the U.S., offering miles of trails through lush Pacific Northwest wilderness.
Cultural highlights are also close at hand. Spend an afternoon browsing the Portland Art Museum, catch an indie film at historic Cinema 21, or explore nearby galleries and pop-up events. Check local calendars for markets, art walks and events during your visit.
With its unbeatable mix of walkability, dining, nature, and culture, this location offers an authentic Portland experience that keeps guests coming back.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — The Nob Hill / Alphabet District is one of Portland's most walkable neighborhoods. NW 23rd and NW 21st avenues are lined with restaurants, boutiques, cafes, and bars to explore.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 (Belmont/NW 23rd) runs along NW 23rd Avenue with service toward downtown; check current stops and schedules.
🚲 Biking — Check BIKETOWN for current bike-share locations and plan a route that suits your trip.
🚗 Driving — Street parking is available (read signs for time limits and meters). Rideshare pickup times vary.
✈️ Airport — Plan your PDX trip around current traffic or transit schedules.
Other Things to Note:
We want your stay to be seamless and enjoyable. Please note:
• You must take approx. 6 stair-steps to reach each apartment entry door and then an internal staircase to the living floor. Bathrooms are on the main living floors, below most upstairs bedrooms.
• The units connect internally through a third-floor door, which remains unlocked for guest use
• These apartments are in a multi-unit building, so neighboring-unit and street noise may be audible, including at night.
• The unit faces a lively, central street—an unbeatable location, but some ambient city noise is possible.
• There is no dedicated parking, but metered street parking is available all around. Meters accept cards and you can also use the Parking Kitty app.
Thanks for your understanding—and for choosing to stay in one of Portland’s most iconic neighborhoods!
