Nestled in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, our retreat offers a perfect blend of peace and adventure. Just a stone's throw from Big Shag Lake, surrounded by several other public lakes, inland rivers, and streams, this location is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts year-round. Plus, it's within a mile of the new Up North Lodge Event Center and Wedding Center, and near Trail 33, a major ATV and snowmobile trail system.

Step inside to discover a bright and airy living room, with a modern kitchen design, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration or gathering with loved ones.

This recently redeveloped 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home has tons of charm and creativity. Every corner has been touched with thoughtful design, as it was rebuilt from the ground up over the past year. Originally a family property from the 1960s, it was previously used as an art studio, adding to its unique character.

The kitchen is efficiently designed, offering ample counter space and storage options for easy meal preparation. Also, there is a new coffee pot and Keurig cup maker. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area provides a cozy atmosphere for enjoying meals with family and friends.

The property features three well-appointed bedrooms, each with queen beds and extremely comfortable bedding, ensuring comfortable accommodations for all guests. The bathroom has a nice clean shower, providing convenience for your stay.

Located in Gwinn, you'll experience the best of both worlds - serene surroundings enveloped in natural beauty, yet still close to amenities and conveniences of the big city. Explore nearby parks, hiking trails, and lakes for endless outdoor adventures. We are always happy to help guests find the ideal hiking trail and next adventure.

Just a short drive away, discover Marquette and its abundance of hiking, biking, and recreational trails. Marquette is also home to Northern Michigan University and several popular tourist destinations, offering even more opportunities for exploration.

We are also located about 45 miles from Munising, MI the home of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and 50 miles to Escanaba, MI.

This place served as a good place to stay while we were in the area for a wedding and then exploring the UP. It is cozy but we didn’t need a lot of space since we were out exploring. Definitely recommend it.

Cozy, cute cabin! We loved our stay here! Beds and pillows are super comfortable. Fire pit area out back is perfect! Kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. The owner is quick to respond if any issues. Five stars!!!!!

Good stay - nothings perfect.

Host was responsive.Check in/entry etc. easy.Place is modern and clean.Great towels.Great bedding.Nothings perfect so it gets an 3.75/4.0 out of 5.Furnace is REALLY!! Loud. And we felt it was being controlled remotely.Main area needs a couple of rocker/recliners. The futon dosnt make sense as there are already 3 bedrooms, all of which have queen beds( very soft and very nice bedding) but the main area dosnt have much for comfortable sitting and is quite small. The window A/C leaks a ton of cold air so corner in kitchen was VERY. Cold ( our bananas pretty much froze. Pans were extremely dirty (put away w/o being washed by prior we assumed), and most need to be thrown out. We might stay again but cost is pretty steep for its size!
